24.01.2022 Day 5 of 42. Wore the @_nikeaus Zoom Elite 9's today and felt extra speedy! 2 lots of 1.4km with 100m walk recovery then a 200m kick to finish at 4.20min/km pace. Not to mention the weather outside was delicious! Longest blocks of running i have done in training so far this year and body felt good. I was able to control my HR to averaging 153bpm whilst maintaining 5.35-5.40min/km pace. 20.01.2022 Day 7 of 42 and I went to Princes Park to run with @bwwelsh. Training with a great mate is so much fun and I managed to run the full 5km and with an average HR of 148bpm. Thanks Brent! We even did a nice little 300m sprint at the end. Felt good to go back to the course I have done before and reacquaint myself with the hills heading towards the zoo! 6 weeks to go until I race there and I might find myself there again in the lead up. 12.01.2022 Day 6 of 42. Throwback photo to 11th January 2009. Sri Chinmoy Princes Park 5km run. Time 18:59. 6th place overall. My next event will be on the exact same course, with the exact some organizers. I can't believe this was over 9 years ago and needless to say so much has changed since then. I was lucky to be able run so fast Once you lose that level of fitness, you realise how much hard work you put in to train and then race even harder. Hopefully one day I can get back there a...gain. Today's training involved some conditioning work, doing some core and leg work. Tomorrow is long run day and I might sneak to Princes Park for a refresher run along the course I will race on in 36 days time. 08.01.2022 Day 4 of 42. A nice 5.30am kick off with the @_nikeaus @nike Air Zoom Elites on. My favourite running shoe for feeling light. After yesterday I felt average so I decided to continue with the 3 lots of 900m jog with 100m walk. And in the end it was a good sesh. Managed to maintain around 5.45min/km when running and controlling HR.
