25.01.2022 It was a bit Emotional a little while back , this was post last session with Matt Hallam. What a journey it was , Matt came to me at 16, was yet to grow into ...his body, 87kg just as I was starting off as a young fresh trainer. Grateful to have gone through so much growth with Matt and see him tip over 100kg playing strong matches... Through a series of events I'm grateful to have him coming back on board! 24.01.2022 (Second) Breakfast goals



24.01.2022 I look like I'm 4 foot tall ! Matt came to me 14months ago, after his old PT left the gym. He was playing basketball 4-7 times per week and weighed just under... 87kg. Matt was a great player but didn't have the on court presence or confidence to really reach his potential...his body just couldn't keep up with his mind. Matt also has Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome; Attacks of rapid heart rate due to having an extra electrical pathway in the heart. We had a couple scares early on between that and his poor posture causing him to have breathing issues. Recently, on our Anzac Day session he has weighed in at over 100kg....14kg weight gain!! Matt has rejected training at a specialist basketball program to continue with me and has been to play in America with his team. His goal is to get into college ball once he finishes Year 12. Absolutely crazy the results he has gotten, a true testament to all of his hard work, made public by our sessions where he sweats so much that his clothes literally stick to his skin. Huge things in store for this guy.

17.01.2022 6 months ago having 5 was great... Last night this wasn't even half of the people here!! We smashed out 2 massive circuits and went for runs in between... Finished off with 2minute wall sit !!! Great start to the week for all of us :)

17.01.2022 ( Mini Rant ) Had a great discussion with someone the other week after he asked me about my New Years Resolution. Me - "NYR, What's that? OHHH wait do you mean... that thing, that thing where we are meant to make a promise to ourselves to completely change our lives by doing something which we have been incapable of doing in the past, and instead of addressing the root cause of why it's been a recurring issue for us, we will embrace our bad habits the next 4 weeks then on this one particular day, this one day we wake up hungover after a night of partying and go all out at our new vision. But for some reason we break it then say OK il start end of summer, OK il start when I get back to work because you know this no routine is throwing me off etc etc" "Wow (insert awkward pause here) No need to be so harsh on it, I think its a good thing" "What I am being harsh on is the fact if something is important to you and you want to change it, do it right now and become that person right now. Why wait until the one day deemed as the most socially cherished to change your habits" "But you are strong minded, easy for you to say. What about the people who aren't good with setting goals but NYR helps them set one as its a good one" "firstly, I'm only as strong as my weaknesses and I have a lot of those, I have just chosen to acknowledge them and do what I can about it. But, THATS THE ISSUE, we tell ourselves 'oh I am not good at setting goals, i've failed in the past so Il just wait until Jan 1 and it will make me feel better about myself if I fail because at least half the world will be also with me'. Why can you not say tonight at 8:57pm and 11 seconds while I am deciding which Avocado is the ripest at Coles , I am changing who I am! Instead of waiting for 9pm because its an odd number, then 10pm because it sounds better then 9, then tomorrow because its too late at night now. Then the day after that because god forbid you change yourself on a Saturday night, Saturday night was created for fun not serious life choices? And then you wait until Monday but thats an uneven date so then after post poning it so many times you say ' Well if it was meant to happen it would have by now, so must not be for me' That is what I have an issue with..weak minded people. Not as a one, but as a whole. The Norm in society is to embrace bad habits, humour inaction and ridicule the determined, persistent action takers. " "But New Years Resolution's must give you a lot of clients, don't you want that?" "They generally come wanting a 14 day kick start or a 30 day lose your gut type program. I only work with those committed to serious change for themselves who are prepared to make a commitment to me as I will wholeheartedly to them. Besides my clients stay with me, I will always welcome new people on board but I am not chasing after anyone. " "So what are you doing at 8:57pm tonight to change who you are" "I've already embraced change within myself and am happy with how things are going, but I will actually probably be buying avocado tonight." "Nothing you want to do for next year?" "I know what I need to do.. But I do want to go overseas for a couple seminars and to execute some ideas I have" "So are you booking them tonight?" As result I now have Gold Coast, Fiji, Bali, Montreal, New Zealand, Singapore, Hobart confirmed for next year... No lengthy stays and mostly Business with a touch of pleasure but wow! ------------------------ Take out's for me. - Every conversation / interaction holds the ability to open and close pathways in your thinking, dependent upon you allowing it to or not. Either one of us could have become stand offish, but we were both open in hearing each other and letting the conversation flow. It resulted in life changing decision for both of us (he committed to training with me as he respects I stand for what I believe in). -Whatever it may be, start your 'Resolution' now. Draw the line in the sand and stand your ground, there is nobody else who has your back like you do, just as there is never a better time to start than right now. Im all for having a toast on New Years Eve to that!

16.01.2022 CRAIG HARPER!! Lucky enough to hear him speak and grab a copy of his book. He has been one of idols for a fair while now and I purchased my ticket for today's h...ealth and wellness summit as soon as I saw he was a speaker. What I took out of hearing him ; maximise opportunities now as we are never going to have more time, potential or gain better genetics. We need to; 1. Accept that the truth is uncomfortable and need to do what works , not what is fun. 2. Motivation- is a temporary/ sometimes emotion. To be successful one must stay productive when not, be 100% committed to their lifestyle, implement tasks as being non-negotionable-part-of-your-operating-system. 3. Define what success is for you, Internally. Do NOT let external success (money,cars etc) justify your success. What will truly give you sustained drive and happiness 4. Consciously create reality. Things only have the meaning you give it. 14.01.2022 The intelligent focus on what they do know, the wise focus on what they do not" Relaxing, refuelling and refining what I gave learn so far after a SUPER intensi...ve day 4 of Bob Guiel's amazing presentation on what a doctor described as covering the content of some 3 year uni degree's ! Bob holds high credentials, success in various fields and has worked for project associated with NASA. He is a master of A.M.T / Applied kinesiology, and had a leading practice for integrative and alternative health in the states. He has an amazing success rate with his patients who range from young kids to those with terminal illnesses desperate for results... and answers.. He is booked out months and months in advance and for great reason. Loosely quoting him , he leaves his ego of information at the door and focuses on what his clients body tell him, not what they say they have bee diagnosed with. He does this by finding where deficiencies , inflammations and issues are and using his knowledge, he works out how to correct the true issues rather than ' putting a band aid on it aka treating the symptoms. I have literally always hated all things science related but he has taught it in a way that's made me hungry for so much more. Covering the politics and influences of the food industry, how we have become so brainwashed without even realising.. How much of an issue Genetically Modified products are..Then it got deep with biochemistry, protein / amino acids , lipids, vitamins , minerals, hormones and chemicals in our body, free radicals and oxidative stress , digestive system , food allergies vs intolerances, the immune system, thyroid, nervous system... And the rest !!!! My brain is overwhelmed with knowledge but I cannot wait to learn level 1 and 2 applied kinesiology in October to put it further into practice to change the lives of my clients as best as I can. When he comes back to Aus I would recommend that anyone who wants pure knowledge straight from the source to listen to Bob speak. I know that I am going to be at every course.

12.01.2022 Penny here is a warrior and a half! She came to me start of the year with poor nutrition habits thanks to working crazy rosters as she is a nurse. Her mobility... had deteriorated to the point where she could not sit down and stand up off a bench without assistance. This was no surprise as her legs were so weak with literally no muscle on them. This significantly impacted her ability to look after her grandchildren and do the gardening.. Naht good. But now, Penny has just gotten back from a trip overseas where she walked 1000km.!!! Yep. She has lost over 7kg with me and check out this.. She can now sit down and stand up. It's very rewarding seeing progress like this, and seeing her live life on her terms. Message is, look after your body now, do not take advantage of it. Work hard now so you have less to do down the track...

10.01.2022 YOUNIQUE HQ. After 5 years at Bulleen Health and Fitness, an opportunity arose. I was scared but took the plunge. It's official, YOUNIQUE will be based in this... studio space below BHF ( aka the dungeon of pain ) From Scrubbing toilets, eating endless nachos and energy drinks on overnight shifts,I persevered. Persevered through minimal income, ambition. Persevered through poor life choices, depressive meds,chronic fatigue, hospitalisations , But worst of all self doubt and anxiety I never acknowledged. I have lost loved ones, friendships, money, opportunities and time. I've slept in many times, pissed people off and lost friendships and clients I could have kept with more effort. In 1923 Babe Ruth set the record for most home runs in a season, but many don't know he also set the record for the most strike out's. There were other more reliable players out there but those scared of striking out were never able to achieved the greatness which they could have. Babe was remembered for a reason. I'm not scared of striking out and I want to see how far one can go. We will experience intense love , intense suffering and all in between. Our loved ones will die, we will die. So fK the status quo and Fk fitting in, i want my altruism to balance out my narcisism. I will do what ever it takes to achieve my goals and build my legacy. Rain hail or shine, I have fallen in love with the process. 07.01.2022 Dave and I have a few stand offish moments in our relationship... and that's what is so damn great about it. Challenging perspectives, education and being held to the highest of standards, just how it ought to be. Dave has lost over 13kg of fat and those results are a testament to him showing up at all times of the day regardless if he is beaten up from car racing or a long day and week at the office. He is prepared to pay the price of pushing through the pains of change and as result has had more growth in 2 months than years of on/off training. Hashtag Be like Dave.

07.01.2022 There is no situation where you should accept your situation. You can always change one thing, and that is your approach to it. Whether it is actions you take, ...or how you view what occurs. Just because it is cold, do not accept that its OKAY to get sick. That it happens to 'everybody' and it is a part of life. Sickness and other symptoms are alarm bells from your body telling you something is NOT RIGHT, not giving you a report that its 12 degrees with light showers today. Place more value on your health and consider why you are run down or sick. Are you kissing someone who eats foods or drinks you are intolerant or allergic to? Are you eating at places with chances of cross contamination of your food? Are you sleeping enough / What is your sleep quality? Are you exposed to electronics within an hour before bed? Are you consuming excessive amounts / or even any processed foods? Too much sugar? Inconsistent meal times? Excessive stress? Not washing your hands after going to the bathroom? Too much bad bacteria in your gut? (note that most of your immune system is in your gut) Too much coffee not enough nutritious meals? Riding a Cortisol roller coaster? Not having enough protein? Not drinking enough water? Viewing everything in a negative state and put yourself down often? The list goes on.. Try tick a few more boxes and you might just be feeling the best you ever have instead of whinging about the weather and how you always get run down. :)

06.01.2022 Happy birthday for yesterday to this legend, Chris!! . Chris and I worked together at Carlucci's templestowe a few years back. I saw Chris a couple months ago ...and went on one of my rants to him, I spoke of how I stand for those who's value get diluted by others. Those who speak but their words are not heard. Those who are made into jokes by 'friends' at the price of their self value decreasing each time. Those called certain names or those taken advantage of. Those who don't feel comfortable in their own skin. Those who want attention, not for validation but so they can be respected and acknowledged for how fkn awesome they are, just for once in their life. Because since day 1 they perfected putting on their happy face and using an outgoing, caring and humorous personality to hide what's really going on inside. Like a calm ocean which has a strong rip underneath (Never be fooled by a smile or a calm sea). Chris's eye's lit up with every passing minute of our talk and he slammed his hand on the table and said "fuck yes fabs I am in. No matter what it takes, I don't even know where we are going to start or how we are going to do it but I am so in." I'm pumped to watch all the strength Chris has on the inside start to reflect on his physique. 06.01.2022 So super proud of a young patient of mine tonight. I walked into her room at the start of my shift and there was lollies and soft drink all over her table. I as...ked her if she knew what damage these were doing to her liver and other organs she replied no, so I explained to her how her liver doesn't know how to process sugar (fructose) so it converts into dangerous fats called triglycerides (see article in photo) which cause heart disease, fatty liver disease and multiple other diseases. I went back into her room an hour later and they were gone. I ask what she did with them she said her mum and her had no idea what they were doing to her body until now so they threw them all in the bin!! I wish communities closer to my heart would get this message before many people become sick from sugar and processed food intakes. In the year 2015 Sugar foods, processed foods and soft drink aren't cool any more and health should come before making money, if others around you think and act differently it's just really really really sad. {Lee x} See more

05.01.2022 Simple yet sufficient. Monday is only the hardest day of the week because we tell ourselves it is and talk it down. Grab a piece of paper and write down your goals for today , this week and long term. At the very least it will give you a spring in your step as it reminds you what you are working towards :)

Whether it's doing 320kg+ leg press's for reps, training when it's 40 degrees and running home after or putting up with awkward tire exercises Matts always given it 100%.
