17.01.2022 We announced today that our Australian Newsroom Mapping Project (ANMP) will be expanded to include The Full Picture, a comprehensive database of Australia's newsrooms across all states and territories. Our chief executive Anna Draffin says this information currently did not exist anywhere in Australia, including with the regulator. "This is a hugely important piece of the puzzle in developing effective and comprehensive public policy that will support public interest journalism moving forward," Draffin said. 15.01.2022 Nine Entertainment said in a regulatory filing to the Australian Securities Exchange it had signed a three-year deal with #Facebook and a five-year deal with #Google covering payment for its news content on the two digital platforms. 08.01.2022 An interesting look at how people across eight countries have been getting their news and information on #COVID-19 from the University of Oxford Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism. One of the findings was that trust in news organisations had fallen by an average of eight percentage points from April 2020 to April 2021, while trust in national governments fell by an average of 13 percentage points.
