24.01.2022 Oh hey! We just wanted to say..... Thanks heaps to everyone who recently purchased a beautiful Christmas Fundraising Bandanna Casey @threepugsandalady made & sold through her online shop.... We are wearing ours and wanted to say that they sold out very quickly via our Instastory & Facebook story and we raised a wonderful $385 so thanks a lot!... With the $385 we went to the T&S Pet Products factory sale on Friday.... And we’re able to purchase all of these beautiful & comfy beds as well as some toys & water bowls for our Pug Rescue mates yay! T&S Pet Products even gave us some extra snuggley blankets which made our day... We hope everyone doggy that has one of our Christmas Fundraising Bandannas is as happy as us.... As they helped raise money to purchase some lovely beds for the rescue pug pups... Momo & James xxx

22.01.2022 Best friends furever... It’s like we’ve always been together.... Beanie the fawn bloke is my best mate.... Mumbles reporting in the adopted life is great...... Beanie and I wrestle and play.... Many times a day.... And he gives great cuddles as well... Thankfully he doesn’t snore too much which is swell... My furever humans love me heaps... Even when I am giving cheek... I’ve been to many great parks near my house... Getting out and about and socialising is grouse... Adopted life is the best... Especially when you get treated like a princess.... Mumbles xxx Adopted & Loved! 21.01.2022 What you got there? Yep we are going to stare.. At you... As that’s what puggies do...... Queen Trixie here in the black.... Reporting that it’s been over a year since I was adopted and I haven’t looked back... And guess what... My bestie Bomber, sitting next to me, says I have helped him a lot... Since I moved in.... Bomber has lost 4kg (was 13kg now 9kg) and he now is fit and trim... That makes me really grin.... How good is it that Bomber and his family helped by adopting me... And in turn I have helped Bomber be happy and healthy... And have filled my furever home with glee... Trixie xxx Adopted over a year ago & loved by Bomber & his family. Trixie arrived into Pug Rescue care not in a good way. She is awfully glad that Pug Rescue actually care for pugs as even though she was clearly a total mess her old surrendering humans said nothing is wrong with her in any way As we loaded Trixie into our Pug Rescue volunteers car we knew she had been up for sale several times in the past year was morbidly obese, had absolutely horrendous breathing, was on heat, was most likely pregnant, had a mouth full of stinking rotting teeth, was intensely itching due to mites, thanks for surrendering we will look after her is all we could say Many months of Pug Rescue trying to right what others did wrong to this little pug girl Pregnancy test, unwanted mating injections (we had were unsure what breed had mated with Trixie and Trixie would have died from carrying a litter), 3.5kg in weight loss, mite treatment, specialist airway surgery by Dr Ricky at Southpaws Specialty Surgery for Animals, major dental at Knox Vet Clinic with 30 rotted teeth removed by a tag team of two vets, desexing and after all of still Trixie’s little tail still curls $4k+ spent on vet bills by Pug Rescue helping Trixie and to right what others did so wrong We are so so glad that her awesomely perfect furever family came along!

When go back up to Shepparton for my first brace fitting next weekend..... James xxx James is a Pug Rescue very special needs foster boy with hemivertebrae, 90 degree kyphosis, 20 degree scoliosis, he’s undergone spinal fusion T6-T9, requires daily cortisone for his paralysis and is currently being treated for demodex. 19.01.2022 ADOPT ME! www.pugrescue.org.au/available-pugs OCCY - Occy here to report I’m a good puggy boy... Ready to fill my furever home with lots of puggy joy. I love getting cuddles and pats from everyone. And think that everyday should be filled with lots of fun.. I know how to sit, stay and wait Which is apparently is great and I have now learnt how to have my face and ears cleaned calmly without working myself up into a silly state. I missed out on a fair bit of socalisation of and play time in my first 2 and a bit years. So I came to Pug Rescue not really understanding how to interact properly with other dogs and being a bit reactive due to not understanding which manifested itself into a bit of fear.. But Pug Rescue have been helping with teaching me how to interact nicely with other dogs and socalising me.. And not only have I lost some weight I have learnt to share with my foster siblings and run and play wrestling and chasey yippy The best thing to occur during my time in Pug Rescue care Is being granted the wish to not struggle to breath air. Just over 6 weeks ago at the age of 2 I couldn’t walk for more then 10 to 15 minutes without stopping and nearly collapsing which would cause quite a scare But now 6 weeks post specialist airway surgery and recovery I can now trot along for 40+ minutes enjoying the wind blowing through my hair. At Knox Vet Clinic Specialist surgeon Dr Ricky of Veterinary Specialist Surgery Australia used his skills to correct someone else’s unsuccessful attempt at airway surgery on me that I underwent last November before coming into Pug Rescues care. Dr Ricky was thankfully able to somehow improve and widen what was left of my nostrils and performed a folded flap palatoplasty to shorten and thin my blob of a soft palate and a tonsillectomy to remove my enlarged tonsils all of which have now allowed me to gain more air. Two weeks of weeks of strict crate rest, hand feeding and meds I underwent. Then a slow build up of daily puggy life and exercise has made me a very happy and fit puggy gent In the evening I like watching tv. And resting my head on a humans knee I am sure there is a perfect active furever home with a puggy girl out there for me.. One that understands I am young and can still be a bit cheeky. But is ready to have their lives filled with Occy glee PLEASE GO TO OUR WEBSITE TO VIEW OCCY'S FULL ADOPTION PROFILE: www.pugrescue.org.au/available-pugs Male Fawn Desexed Pedigree Pug 900079000517300 DOB: 03/12/2018 9kg approx RE108835 Thank you to Caitlin from Ragamuffin Pet Photography for Occy's handsome adoption profile photos.

19.01.2022 Peta says hey everyone... This is my new furever mum! Today is my Adoption Day.... Can you tell that I’m so excited to have my very own furever home to stay? Hip, hip, hooray!... All of my dreams have come true... As I love toys yes I do... And my furever home has so many for me to play... As well as a lovely garden, doggy door, many soft beds and a devoted furever mum yay... Thanks for choosing to adopt me I say.... We start our furever memories together today... Congratulations Peta & Happy Adoption Day! Peta xxx In Pug Rescue foster care Peta lost 4.9kg (she was 13kg now is 8.1kg) of obesity weight Along with undergoing behavioural training including not snatching food when she’s fed and how to be handled without tantruming as well as getting along with other pug mates Her horrendous breathing was corrected at Knox Vet Clinic when Specialist surgeon Dr Ricky of Veterinary Specialist Surgery Australia performed a folded palatoplasty to shorten and thin Peta’s soft palate and a tonsillectomy to remove Peta’s enlarged tonsils as well. Peta thinks being able to breath better is swell A major dental by Dr Sam at Knox Vet was completed as well.... Eye Specialist Melbourne EyeVet have seen her too Some daily eye drops will help her continue to see through Her puggy eyes up at you. Peta thanks to Pug Rescue for spending thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours on her rehabilitation. And says she is now a different girl and ready to have fun. And is excited to say she has landed on her feet with the best furever home & furever mum....

18.01.2022 Oh hey... We visited eye specialist Dr Chloe & the team at Melbourne EyeVet today.... Dr Chloe examined our eyes thoroughly... As it’s very important to be able to see properly... Dr Chloe prescribed some ointment and drops...... And we thanked her lots... Whilst we sprinkled our pug hair everywhere.... As it’s nice to share... Nancy & Douey xxx Nancy is adopted & loved & volunteers as a foster sister. She has dry eye which drops & ointment assist with controlling. Douey is in Pug Rescue foster care and underwent specialist graft surgery on an deep ulcer that was not healing and was going to perforate. Dr Anu and the Melbourne Eye Vet team took some pink tissue (conjunctiva) from the corner of Doueys eye and grafted it across his cornea and the ulcer preventing the eye from perforation. Douey’s eye is now doing well and he has drops to remove some scar tissue that is forming. He was also desexed at the time of eye surgery. He requires airway surgery which will be done in the coming weeks. Once recovered he will then undergo surgery to remodel his eyes to make the openings smaller which will protect them.

18.01.2022 Tilt your head... I’m sure that’s what you said... There’s no way that you were asking me why I chewed my bed... And didn’t chew on my chew toy instead... I’m very innocent and sweet....... Oh look I better go pounce on that leaf... Juniper xxx www.pugrescue.org.au/available-pugs RE108835 Juniper & her sister Martha are the two remaining puppies from our night rescue when we received an urgent honest plea for help and collected into our care a litter of five 24 hour old pug puppies that had been very sadly rejected by their mother... Tube feeding, sub cut fluids, glucose, vet care, warming and our very experienced neonatal foster carer were sadly not enough to keep life going in Martha & Junipers 3 other litter mates who had all been without sufficient milk and warmth for too long before entering our care... Martha & Juniper have being tended to around the clock over the past 15 weeks with their intensive care which has included tube feeding which involves a feeding tub being inserted at feed times down their throats and into their stomachs to feed milk through... Juniper required mouth to snout resus and Emergency vet care including oxygen, scope & tests.... The girls were desexed three weeks ago and have recovered well & now are interviewing furever families.

15.01.2022 When you are in Lockdown 4.0... Walkies you must go.... Trot, roll, trot... We like walkies a lot...... Making everyone laugh and grin... As we go passing... Look at the ones in the pram we hear people cry out... We tell them that even those with disabilities like to get out and about... James & his mates xxx James is a Pug Rescue very special needs disabled foster boy with hemivertebrae, 90 degree kyphosis, 35 degree scoliosis, he’s undergone spinal fusion T6-T9, requires daily cortisone for his paralysis and has been treated for demodex mange. He has luxating patellas which cause his hind legs to buckle (due to James being very special he is not a surgery candidate) but with the help of his @animal.tech braces he has gained mobility. He’s nearly 2 years old and only a very tiny just over 4kg boy (the size of a 4 month old pup) who thinks he’s the boss. Thanks to the online pug loving community Pug Rescue is able to provide James the daily care he needs to live a happy & enriched life. #pug #pugs #specialneeds #brace #eyes #hello #knee #spinalfusion #hemivertebrae #pugrescuevic #pram #lockdown #melbourne #walk #walkies #mates #specialneeds

14.01.2022 Puggered after a big day.... Of picking up toys, carrying them and tossing them around in play... Dudley says after a scare 5 weeks ago due to a very sore neck he is back to his old self yay.... 5 weeks ago Dudley saw Dr Kent at Knox Vet Clinic for a check...... As he had quite obviously done yet another disc, this time in his neck.... A course of weekly injections for 3 weeks as well as a week and a half of pain and anti inflammatory medication was done... But the poor little guy was still having pain and limited movement which certainly wasn’t fun.... So another vet appointment with Dr Laura for stronger pain meds & more anti inflammatories for him... Which have worked and have made Dudley free from pain and again grin... Dudley xxx Dudley is one of our furever foster boys due to both his senior age and the multitude of health issues he cane to us with. Despite his wonky legs, lumps and bumps, previously injured eyes, breathing issues and everything else he is normally a happy lovable boy who enjoys short walks, loves toys & will constantly carry one around.

12.01.2022 Look at me! And look what’s on my knee! I went for a long drive back up to Shepparton yesterday.... To visit specialist Animal Tech Prosthetist/Othotist Elizabeth as she had finished custom making my knee brace yay!... Elizabeth fitted my brace and trimmed it a little bit... So it’s a perfect fit.... Everyone hopes my special brace will help my weakest leg not buckle as much and instead stay straight... Which will hopefully help my knee cap stay in place... Which in turn will help my strongest legs knee cap also stay in place which will be ace... With both my knee caps in the right position and my legs not collapsing my standing and walking gait... Should greatly improved... And my muscles will become stronger and less damage will be done to my joints and little body every time I move... I have to now practice getting used to wearing my brace and standing and walking in a very different but so much better way... Thanks Elizabeth for making my very special brace and seeing me yesterday.... My brace has a pattern of coloured doggy paws... As I am so very grateful that Pug Rescue & all of my online friends help keep me walking on my four... Massive shout out to all the special people that donated to cover the $1,400 cost.... Special thanks to Maureen & her family who donated in honour of their puggy Mav who passed away recently.... I named the blue paw print that is above my knee on my brace Mav after him... Hope that makes them grin.... Thanks to Wendy, Bruce & Sia’s family and to so many other beautifully generous people.... You all make my little puggy heart swell....
