24.01.2022 I posted this on Instagram the other day, these are photos taken off the back of the Pumphouse at the southern end of Thirroul beach in the 1960’s. People ask why Pumphouse Surfboards? The reason is, my nan lived directly across from the Pumphouse in Thirroul and I spent a lot of time there growing up as a grom. Many a day was spent surfing there, and also on nans lounge surfed out watching the waves hit the back of the pumphouse. I’ll never forget those days.... My nan was always telling me will you just f**k off and go surfing, if you didn’t know my nan you wouldn’t believe this but anyone that did know her, you can comment below to back me up that those would be her exact words. My nan had a massive influence both on me as a person and also as a surfer, therefore I wanted the name of my surfboards to tie her in somehow, and to name them after that Pumphouse I felt was the way to do it. The Pumphouse is deeply rooted into our family memories for further personal reasons aswell, however the above story was the main reason I named my boards after it.

16.01.2022 Pumphouse Surfboards. This one ready to have the fcs 2 fin plugs installed. It’s not just a matter of setting the plugs in, there are numerous factor that determine where the fins will go. The mechanics of the board play a massive role in how the board will perform and one of those factors is where the fins are placed, how much toe and cant the shaper wants in the fins. ... The shaper will mark all this out once they’ve finished shaping the blank, ready for the fin plugs to be cut out and installed before the board goes off to be laminated. All this will affect the speed and responsiveness of the board. Thrusters, ( three fins ) is the most versatile and most trusted fin set up.
