23.01.2022 TODAY: Those WERE the days, my friends, those WERE the days! Tra la la la la. Still doing the Westalee Online Courses though :) 2015 Day One at Melbournes Craf...t & Quilt Fair, no time for many photos, we were SO busy. Snapped a couple of photos as visitors first came in then no chance for more the rest of the day. Leonie West, Guest on our stand, had quilters around her all day in awe with the new Westalee Ruler Foot, enabling quilting on a domestic sewing machine similar to that done on a Longarm Quilting Machine. By the way, our next Online Course for such has been announced for 15th October, 2015. Our demonstrations in the Tips & Tools Workshop at the rear of our stand had very good attendance all day too. Try and visit the show sometime over the next 3 days; its well worth it. So much to see and do - learn, be inspired, buy, just come! We catch the tram each morning from our accommodation and we were VERY impressed this morning as it arrived at the Melbourne Exhibition and Convention Centre that it was announced and suggested you may like to alight and visit the Craft & Quilt Fair now on. Wow. Thats a first! Well done Expertise Events, great publicity. See more

Expertise Events has made an Announcement as follows: "With a heavy heart we announce: It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the postponement of this years Australasian Quilt Convention due to take place between 16 - 19 April 2020. Please read this letter in full as we have a plan and would like everyone to be clear in what that is. ... We know that this will come as an enormous disappointment, not only to the sponsors, exhibitors, delegates and visitors who were due to attend the event, but also to the craft community at large, and of course to our team who have put countless hours for the past year into organising an amazing event. We are incredibly disappointed and in a state of disbelief at the past five months that Australia has endured, but have no option but to postpone AQC to 20th 23rd of August, 2020. This is off the back of record class numbers, our preview magazine already in circulation and a fully booked show floor. HOUSTON July 15, 2020 From Karey Bresenhan, Founder & Director Emeritus of International Quilt Festival Who could have known, when I was in my 30s, nearly broke, and starting Great Expectations Quilts and Quilt Festival, that here Id be 45 years later, in the midst of a deadly pandemic, worrying about our budget, and having to make the decision to cancel that same show? Who could have known? But that is what I am doing. It is with the greatest regret that I must announce the cancellation of our 46th annual International Quilt Festival in Houston, previously scheduled for October 29-November 1 at the George R. 11.01.2022 ANNOUNCEMENT: AQC 2020 is cancelled from its rescheduled date from April to August and will now be back as usual in 2021. No surprises here as there is NO International Travel and many Tutors are from all around the world. The largest Quilting Convention in the Southern Hemisphere will now be bigger and better with a sensible delay till when, hopefully, the whole world can return to some normality and health safety.
