16.01.2022 Hi friends Since it’s launch Puppets Alive has been donating a percentage of the revenue from every booking we complete to Dementia Australia to help them in their work of supporting people living with dementia and their carers. Due to COVID-19 we have been unable to donate for 6 months. Will you help me continue that support by sponsoring me as I set myself a goal to walk or jog 35 kms during the week beginning 21st September, which is Dementia Action Week. Click on the link below to go to My Memory Walk & Jog fund raising page. Thanks for your support. https://www.memorywalk.com.au/fundraisers/stephenpetering/my

11.01.2022 Puppets Alive kicked off our season of Christmas shows today. We had a wonderful time with the folk on the memory support unit at FReemasons Springtime. Thanks to My and all the team there for a Christmasie afternoon.

05.01.2022 Dementia Australia's thoughts are with all of those affected by the ongoing bushfires across the country. This can be an especially difficult time for people li...ving with dementia and their carers. QUT (Queensland University of Technology) and the Australian Red Cross have put together a guide for carers of people living with dementia on how best to prepare for natural disasters, what to do during a disaster, and advice for after the disaster. You can download the guide online at http://dementiakt.com.au/resource/carer-ready-guide. If you need additional support, please call the National Dementia Helpline at 1800 100 500 Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm. In the event of a medical emergency please call 000. See more

05.01.2022 An insightful yet short article on the challenges of dementia, particularly for those who love and care for the person living with dementia, and practical ways to approach the challenges. It also gives a practical way that care staff and families can partner in giving personalised historically relevant support to the person living with dementia. Worth a read and potential to be instigated by lifestyle & leisure teams (if not being done already).

04.01.2022 Puppets Alive has just completed a very full year of engagements in Residential Aged Care services throughout Victoria. This year we have shared in 456 engagements including 215 performances and 230 one to one puppet therapy sessions. We are so appreciative of the support of all the aged care services and Lifestyle coordinators and teams that have invited us along this year. We look forward to supporting you once again in 2020 as you shape your program for your residents. Puppets Alive wishes you a joyful Christmas and a marvelous 2020.
