19.01.2022 Led by Purabi Chowdhury, a professional vocalist & classical dancer working full-time as a performer and tutor, Purabi Cultural Academy is a Cultural school co...mprising of elocution, poem recitation, music, dance and art departments. Students range from complete beginners to advanced working vocalists & classical dancer in all age group of 3 to almost 50 years old. To develop and explore, we love to encourage our students to have weekly and yearly goals. About Purabi Chowdhury: Since the 2 decades she has been singing & dancing as a professional. She is trained in Rabindra Sangeet as well as Monipuri & Kathakali dance from "Sangit Bahavana under Viswa-Bharati University, Santiniketan, India [Bachelor of Music (honours)]. She has been performing since she was seven and competed in local, national, regional singing events in South Asia for almost two decades. Some of which has been on national TV and live radio. She was awarded national award of Natun Kuri and ICCR scholarship from India. She was a faculty of Bangladesh Shishu Academy & YMCA for 15 years. MUSIC - From basics such as Sa re ga ma to basic folk, Adhunik, Rabindra & Nazrul Sangit for children and adults. Here, we usually follow the nationally recognized syllabus of Ustad J. Barua from Bangladesh (up to level 7). DANCE We teach folk, general dance, Monipuri (Tandob and Lasya) & Kathakali for the beginners & professionals. In addition, we can help costuming and stage performances for the children. ELOCUTION AND ART- An elocution department is also there, led by Sannidhyan Shom, the 1st prize winner for Poem recitation, in a Nationwide Olympiad organized in Bangladesh. He has been practicing as an elocutionist and had been M.C. in various Cultural events since 2009 and now enthusiastic to spread his art amongst more people. He teaches and does M.C. ( Master of Ceremonies), for events. Voice modulation, microphone handling and pronounciation tactics are taught with care.
