13.01.2022 On this night, every year for the past 6 years, I have played host to a show at The Tamworth Country Music Festival. A show that set out to raise money and awareness for mental health after losing my beautiful little sister (Kathy) to suicide in 2013. Each year the star-studded list of acts get bigger and bigger and the audience (I prefer to call my friends who support PCS) become more and more loyal and look out for the show and I couldn't be more proud of what I created bac...k in 2015. I want to go back tonight and re-visit the 2019 show and I dedicate tonight to a woman who supports me. This girl buys tickets each year and asks me to pay them forward to someone who'd love to attend but may not be able to afford to go. She as yet has not been to a Pure Country Spectacular Show but is one of my biggest supporters of what I set out to create each year. Thank you Clare for your friendship and support, please know that you are a special person who's support is very much appreciated. So many people to thank and wish I could be seeing this week in Tamworth. Anthony Peter James Taylor, Troy Cassar-Daley, Amber Lawrence, Amber Joy Poulton, Tyson Lucas, Matty Cornell, Mike Carr, Chloe Styler, Kristy Cox, Travis Collins, Travis List, Roo Arcus, The Wolfe Brothers, Brett Clarke, Christie Lamb, Michael Waugh, Luke Austen, Andrew Swift, Gretta Ziller, The Bushwackers, Pete Denahy, Anita Tresidder, Kevin Sullivan, Liam Kennedy-Clark, Gina Timms, Sandra Humphries, Ray McCoy, Sandie Dodd Music, John Stephan, Stomping Ivories, Laura Byrnes Music, Leonie Knight and Farmgate Productions, Lilly Goller Music, and everyone else I may have forgotten (whilst I sit here reliving the memories and the awesomeness over years of the show.... ) Also my fabulous Pure Country Band members, supporters, promo team members, photographers, and media personnel who have written articles, shot awesome pics or promoted the event. Rob-Maureen Hanley, Daniel Wilson, Connor, Bailey Wilson, Shannon, Jodie Cam, Jess, Buddy, Klae McGuinness Photography, there are simply too many to mention....but the biggest thank you goes out to YOU.....the audience/supporters who make each year such a success...... re-watch, re-live and enjoy the re-run of the 2019 Pure Country Spectacular Show and I look forward to seeing you all back at Capitol Theatre Tamworth in 2022 for the next BIG show!! See more

02.01.2022 ***WARNING*** LONG POST. So, another Tamworth Country Music Festival done and dusted and I am home, unpacked, back in the drivers seat of mum for what I am cert...ain will be a busy year for my boys with Connor in year 12, Daniel year 10, Bailey year 8 and Shannon doing his final year at Wurruk Primary school. Kids all went back to school today and I couldn't be more proud of them. Already we are back in to routine. I really missed having them at Tamworth this year but it's a fact of life that they are growing up and starting to spread their wings and be more independent. This years festival has been nothing short of incredible, busy but incredible...this is a recap and hopefully acknowledgement of all who contributed in some way. We arrived early in to Tamworth to ensure we had plenty of time to promote and campaign to ensure my show went well as it was being publicised in the media that it was expected that numbers of attendees would be down due to the drought, the Tamworth water restrictions and the bush-fires. Staying at the Almond Inn Motel where Richard was the host for a few days before we commenced our camping, well should I call it glamping (camp equipment inside a class room at a school) call it what you like, I still preferred the motel room with a shower and toilet close by, but beggars can't be choosers when trying to do things at a reasonable cost. After-all I had spent thousands on tickets to all my favorite artists and bands. Thank you Richard for your amazing hospitality and assistance with promoting my show to future guests there, we were sad to leave the Almond Inn. Rob-Maureen Hanley, mum and Klae played a huge role helping me hang posters, distribute flyers and generally spruik about Pure Country Spectacular Show. Thank you guys because it's proven time and time again that passionate people handing out flyers works a million times better than 'flyer hand-outers' and I know you are three of my biggest believers. Going into the festival we had higher than average pre-sales of tickets and so no matter what happened from there I felt confident that we were in for a wonderful and successful event. Well by show night we were all but SOLD OUT and from start to finish everything went amazingly.... Troy Hofmeier had told me to watch out around Tamworth in case I came across a young girl who had won the busking competition at the recent Texas Country Music Roundup in Qld....respecting Hoffy's judgement I went one step further and without even knowing or hearing Lilly, I offered her a spot on my show. This is how young ones get that leg up and I was proud to put Lilly smack bang in the center of the Capitol Theatre Tamworth stage to be the opening act at my 6th show. Thank you Lilly Goller Music for doing the anthem and 'Leave him in the Longyard' so well. The incredible band....wow!! Led by Liam KC, Pete Denahy, Peter Cooper, Isaac Leong Loon, Simon Johnson, Dave Moore...I never undervalue the team of musicians I have each year, these boys are the best in the business and I so appreciate that they dedicate the Tuesday night each year at the festival to the Pure Country Spectacular Show - thank you The incredible artists.....what more can I say....I love you all, you are amazing, all a bit different, all bring to the show a different element, but all country......I love each and every one of you and from the bottom of my heart - thank you for appearing on my show, I know you are all in demand and asked to do lots of different things but how incredibly blessed am I to have had you this year.....I re-watched the live stream video and I cried at the masterpiece I was viewing.....a show that I created, but you did. I can never thank you enough Kevin Sullivan, Tyson Lucas, Small Town Romance, Liam Kennedy-Clark, Brett Clarke, Andrew Swift, Gretta Ziller, Gina Timms, Michael Waugh, Christie Lamb, Travis Collins, The Wolfe Brothers. To the supporters of my show, you make me feel like a celebrity.....I walk Peel street and have people rush over to say hi, hug me and tell me they have already purchased tickets to my show.....you stay back after the shows to have me sign autographs, have photos with me or just to tell me amazing things about how much you loved the show..... The people who message me after the show and tell me deep and personal things about themselves, who tell me that the stories shared by the selection of artists about mental illness or loss help then in one way or another......every element of connecting with me - prior, during or after, all mean so much. Thank you to YOU the audience for believing in my show long before I even tell you who will be performing, absolutely means the world to me. A special shout out goes to the people who purchased a seat and asked me to 'pay it forward' as a way to support me and the cause even though they were not in Tamworth this year.....you don't know how much this blows my mind or the minds of the carefully selected recipients....on behalf of those who got a free seat this year, thank you for your very kind and generous offer. To my support team of friends who have never missed a show and some drove all night to get there in time, some left their homes praying they wouldn't get burnt down whilst away and some came to Tamworth early just to be there to support me - thank you. Jodie Cam, Judy Littler, Carol Anne, Scott, Buddy (Sue Butt), Rob-Maureen Hanley, Mick Petrak, Lois, Jan Pope, Jess Cam, Kaz Milner, Michael, Elaine, Mick....oh I better stop here otherwise I'll name the entire audience.....but thank you all for your support and encouragement and biggest thing - your belief in me. To my amazing MC - Ray McCoy.....you are the one thing that keeps everything running smoothly, you believe in the show, you are an incredible advocate for Pure Country Spectacular and for mental illness and I can not thank you enough for your support, your voice over for advertisement, your plugs on air and just your support in general - thank you Thanks to my family at home sending their love and support whilst I was away.....dad, your messages made me teary - thank you John Lawsy Laws, Daniel Wilson, Bailey Wilson as well as the rest of the family. This year we were working for the cause RUOK? and it was a real pleasure to have the team attend the show and Katherine said a few words.....Remember to ask "R U OK?" that conversation could save a life.....and save a family from the heartache that goes on long after the death. Today 12 years ago we lost Stuart (step brother)....and 6 years, 3 months and 17 days since we lost Kathy - my sister.....the pain remains but we learn to cope without them a little better each year. We'd rather no family have to endure this so this is a general reminder to be kind to all, we all have a story, we are all suffering in a way that many would never know nor believe in some cases and checking in with people you haven't spoken to in a while, those affected by drought, fire, flood, whatever. A kind smile to a stranger in the street or a giving gesture to a random stranger from time to time.....it might just make that difference to a struggling person......please make 2020 a year to try harder to be kind. To the team who bring the live stream to the rest of us....what an amazing job you do, thank you Leonie Knight, Phil Henry and team for all the set-up and the incredibly professional coverage you put out to the world, you play a very important role in my show and despite being behind the scenes, your role is pivotal to the ongoing viewing during the year, thank you 'FarmGate Productions' for all you do. On top of my show I ran an impromptu raffle to aide the bush-fire crisis across out nation. I had two spare front row seats to Lee Kernaghan and my mate Klae McGuinness Photography kindly donated a beautiful photograph of his of LK. So at my show that night and at Fanzone stage on the Thursday morning we sold tickets and the draw took place just before Lee took to the stage. I am pleased to say that we raised $1000 for the National Bush-fire Disaster Appeal. The winner was Chris Hunt from Newcastle and we are told that the framed image of Lee will hang pride of place in the adult special needs centre that Chris works at...worthy winner in my book. Thank you to all who purchased ticket/s in this and helping to rebuild shattered communities. The Friday of Tamworth was another big event for me as I was selected to be one of two special guests to be interviewed/filmed in front of a live audience called "Ordinary Angels" discussing mental illness and suicide and the impact it has had on me and how I have turned the negative around to try make a difference. I was so nervous as front and centre is not my preferred place, but the 55 minute interview flew and I had the audience in tears at times and seriously interested in what I had to say.....I found this empowering as prior to the filming I truly thought no-one would really care to know my story.....I was wrong. After 'question time' the audience was welcomed to have a cuppa and a meet and greet with me.....this scared me the most seeing the incredible Ashleigh Dallas was the other guest to be interviewed......who'd want to meet & greet me?......well it appeared that everyone there did......omg......was overwhelming, some wanted to just hug me, others told me a personal story of their loss or family struggles with mental illness....I may have have touched a few nerves for some people telling my story but my Ordinary Angels experience reinforced the massive importance to talk, to tell our stories and this encourages others to either open up or at least feel they are not the only ones living with loss, grief, mental illness or any other condition that prevents them from truly living.....Ash inspired me, Merelyn Carter Blog & Podcast inspired.....in fact Tamworth Country Music Festival inspired me this year. Thank you everyone who I worked with, sang with, drank with, photographed with.....oh my.....bring on Tamworth 2021 I hope I haven't missed any one and if I did I'm sorry.

01.01.2022 We at Pure Country Spectacular proudly support mental illness and suicide prevention charities each year, but being a Gippslander and experiencing the horrific bushfires we have decided to conduct a very special raffle. With all proceeds going towards a national bushfire relief charity, the prize is amazing. 2 x FRONT row seats to LEE KERNAGHAN'S only Tamworth Country Music Festival Show at TRECC this THURSDAY night at 8pm PLUS a huge framed 'Lee Kernaghan' photo print. Tickets are $5 each and will be drawn live on Kix radio Thursday morning, plus streamed on our facebook page too. Be on the lookout for a team member wearing the official lanyard to buy your ticket and support the recovery of our fire ravaged regions. Thank you for helping and good luck!! Prizes donated by Pure Country Spectacular and Klae McGuinness Photography.
