25.01.2022 TRAINING TIP - Target your quads more by elevating your heels on a plate whilst you squat. Dont forget to add a pause at the bottom of the movement to make things a little more enjoyable
22.01.2022 Another 6 week progress set of photos. Massive changes coming through. Great effort and lots of hard work paying off. Keep going lovely lady x
22.01.2022 INTERNATIONAL WOMENS DAY - I want to be in the arena. I want to be brave with my life. And when we make the choice to dare greatly we sign up to get our asses kicked and we can choose courage or we can choose comfort, but we cant have both. Not at the same time - Brene Brown The biggest love to the strong women in my life who push me, encourage me, laugh with me and hold my hand when I cry. Be unapologetically exactly who you are. Dont play little for anyone
20.01.2022 If we base our happiness on a certain body weight we are destined to sit on the sidelines of life not getting what we assume all the beautiful, skinny people of the world get. If we hate ourselves, we will always be chasing an unattainable result because even when were skinny, nothing we do will still ever be good enough. By blaming our body for our unhappiness we will always avoid dealing with the real issues in our lives - insecurity and lack of self worth. Self acceptan...ce and self love is where we need to focus our energies. Honour your body, respect it and live your life to your full potential Stop blaming your body for the bad things in your life Stop letting a comment from someone else determine how you feel about yourself Stop thinking you aren't in the body youre supposed to have Stop letting the number on the scale or your clothes size define you Stop judging yourself by what you cant do and instead celebrate what you can Stop negative talk when you look at yourself in the mirror Stop joining in when your friends trash talk their bodies Stop thinking your looks are more important than how you feel Stop waiting to reach your goal and start enjoying your body Stop thinking you don't matter because of the size of your body When we focus on the inside and treating that right, the outside will fall into place:
20.01.2022 6 week shred. 6 weeks maintenance for @taramoran74. She dropped 4kg in the first 6 weeks and maintained her body fat through the second half of the challenge. Tara is so much leaner through the back, legs, shoulders and on point for all her training goals in the gym and in the water.... Straight into it from the first day of the shred and nailing the results. Super proud of you beautiful girl
19.01.2022 Needing a Christmas Present idea? Know someone who might be interested in some personal training to kick 2020 off in style or have you got some goals you want to smash and want to drop a hint to someone for a gift idea? Tag them below. DM for more information
19.01.2022 3.5kg down in 12 weeks for Cathy who is 51 years old. She said didnt realise that getting her water intake correct every day would play a huge part and the moment she stopped drinking 3litres a day her nutrition fell off track. You look amazing Cathy. I know you werent sure you could reach your goal at the start but youve smashed it. As always youre so beautiful inside and out but Im glad youre feeling the added mental boost from the last 12 weeks... #shred #shredding #fatloss #nutrition #diet #fatloss #macros #instafit #fitfam #goals #hardwork #mumlife #motivation #doingitforme #gym
18.01.2022 12 week shred. 4.1kg leaner and look at that back! @elyallen is a working mum of two beautiful minis. She nailed these results with 2 sessions a week in the gym, a run with a girlfriend and a simple overhaul of her nutrition. Ely just needed a reminder of what she already knew about diet and consistency to get these results and there has been no stopping her! Another couple of weeks to reach the goal she set herself and then we will adjust her macros so she has a plan in plac...e to maintain her body fat whilst continuing to work on making her stronger, move better and keep challenging her mentally and physically in her training sessions. You were always beautiful, amazing and a boss Mum but achieving a goal you set out to smash will always give you that added sparkle in your eye. Proud of you x #shred #shredding #fatloss #nutrition #diet #fatloss #macros #instafit #fitfam #goals #hardwork #mumlife #motivation #doingitforme #gym
17.01.2022 The best way to beat your sugar cravings is to stop giving into them. If you want to eliminate them then you need to take control of the situation and stop using the excuse of but I need to have something sweet after dinner... seriously, no you dont! It wont be easy and its not going to be a lot of fun but you have the ability to take control of your choices and you need to take responsibility for what youre eating.... There is absolutely no reason you cant have sugar as part of a balanced diet and you can still drop body fat, build muscle and remain healthy whilst having sugar in moderation. Those of you have worked with me know I am pro keeping all food in your diet and not being restrictive with your choices. However, its a lot easier to overeat cake and chocolate than it is to overeat chicken and veggies! So when you say you cant help eating a block of chocolate, you absolutely can! If you want to get a grip on your cravings and the need for sugar, then you are going to have to work that self control muscle. You do have the discipline and you do have the self control. Drink more water, get more sleep, identify if youre eating sugar to manage stress and difficult feelings. Change sugar for artificial sweeteners, replace with fruit and break the patterns of behaviour and routine where you find yourself buying sugar at points during the day. Yes... Its hard Yes... Its not fun But if you want to get rid of sugar cravings then you need to just get on with it and accept it for what it is. So this arvo dont buy yourself an icecream because the kids are having one, buy a cold bottle of water Instead. Dont stop at the servo as youre driving home from work and buy something at the counter as youre paying for petrol. Make a good choice and start to take control of those cravings
16.01.2022 What a huge effort by @taramoran74 for completing the 2.3km ocean swim around Shark Island today. My heart was bursting with pride to see you cross the finish line today. What a massive effort and achievement in that current and swell. Big tick on the bucket list
16.01.2022 In the coming months routine is going to be essential on so many levels. You need to continue to wake up with purpose and you need to go to bed at the end of the day feeling productive. You need to keep moving; exercise is going to be paramount to your mental health and your overall physical health too. Food is going to be a challenge for many - emotional eating is going to pop its head up and say hello, mindless grazing throughout the day is going to be easy to do.... But, if you approach this right theres so many positives. This extra time is going to allow you to focus on yourself to prepare healthy nutritious meals. Fat loss over fat gain is entirely possible. We can spend our days complaining about our losses or we can grow from them. Ultimately, the choice is ours. We can become victims of our circumstance or masters of our own fate.
15.01.2022 In order for a muscle to grow, strength to be gained, performance to increase, or for any similar improvement to occur, the human body must be forced to adapt to a tension that is above and beyond what it has previously experienced. This is known as progressive overload. Below are the most popular ways of ensuring that you are doing this in your sessions. Increasing Load - Heavier load with the same reps... Reps - More Reps with the same amount of load Increasing Volume - More sets with the same amount of reps and load Increasing Range of Movement - Deeper, greater movement utilising more of your muscles Improving Technique so the right muscles are being activated at their maximum capacity Increasing Frequency/ Sessions until the same load and reps feels easier Improving Time - completing same amount of reps and load and sets in a shorter amount of time Increasing Tension/ Tempo so your muscles remain under tension for longer periods of time
14.01.2022 I have come to the conclusion that I am not coming out of this pandemic fitter or leaner or with a new skill under my belt. I am not going to get round to polishing up my French or gain a new appreciation for meditation. I have not planted a vegetable garden and I have not acquired a love for hours of bush running. What I have gained is an appreciation for wine and cider and vodka and I can now suggest endless new Netflix shows to clients compared to before when I couldnt ev...Continue reading
12.01.2022 Things I wish Id known about fitness when I started out Technique is everything. Learn solid technique from the start and you will have a skill for life. Cut corners or skimp on technique and you will spend years unlearning bad movement patterns and leave yourself prone to injury. Rest is OK and youre going to need to take it more than you probably want to. You dont need to be smashing yourself in the gym 6 or 7 days a week to achieve long lasting results.... Spend the time and learn how to breathe properly when lifting. It will be a game changer for your technique, strength and overall results in the gym. When working out have a plan, follow a programme that is designed to reach your goals. Itll help you stay focused, push yourself and stop you taking short cuts and not fully committing to your sessions. Protein shakes arent a necessity - you can get your protein from whole foods and if youre goal is fat loss you possibly dont want to drink your calories anyway. Fat loss shouldnt be about deprivation and starvation. You should always aim to eat as much food as you possibly can whilst remaining in a calorie deficit and dropping body fat at the same time. Having abs doesnt make you happy and I would pick performance related goals over aesthetics time and time again. Ive been ripped and 50kg and strong and 60kg. My result happiness came from physically achieving targets and feeling internally mentally strong. There will be setbacks, Injuries and periods where your training wont be as you hoped it would be. Theres always something you can train around an injury and sometimes you cant rely solely on motivation to get you over the line. Sometimes youre just going to have to just put your head down and get on with it if you want to reach your goals. There isnt only one way to achieve your goals. Movement is a gift and something we should enjoy and appreciate good health. If you love running, run. If you like dancing, go to Zumba. If you like picking up heavy things, lift. What motivates and Inspires one person isnt the same for another. Find what makes your eyes sparkle and go do that.
11.01.2022 For the last 6 weeks Ive been working on a shred with my clients. Were at the half way point now and aiming to come out of winter in the best shape ever. Definitely getting some great results. Everyone is benefitting from being part of a small group with the same focus, motivating and supporting each other with meal ideas and encouragement to stay on track. Their efforts are really paying off. With gyms opening next week, are you looking to get back into a routine or shred the Covid-19 blues. DM for info on PT or Online Training
11.01.2022 I think Ive learned more about who I am and what I care about from the things that have gone drastically wrong in my life than anything else. Be less afraid of failing and being imperfect. Vulnerability, loss, mistakes is where its at if you want to grow and challenge who you are
11.01.2022 AT THE END OF THE DAY, WE ARE ALL JUST WALKING EACH OTHER HOME A quote to live your life by... We are all going to the same place and we are all on a path. Sometimes our paths converge and sometimes they separate, sometimes there are so many trees you can hardly move. But on a good day, we are on the same path, close together and we are all walking each other home. So love each other, be grateful for each other; be it friends, family, partners. In those hard moments, stop a...nd remember where we are all going and make life a positive experience for everyone around you. Do your bit to make that walk home as special and beautiful for others and the world will be a better place because of it. We have no reason to make someone elses walk sad or lonely and no need to try and make your own walk more superior to anothers. I have so many people who make my walk home amazing, god I love you all so much and more than you will ever know. The smallest gesture of love and support is the most amazing thing to experience. Life is beautiful. Make yours and everyone elses walk home as magical as it deserves to be
08.01.2022 Another set of cracking results at the 6 week mark. Quiet and consistent effort will always win the race
07.01.2022 12 week transformation and 6.1kg down!!! This absolute legend has smashed her Covid Shred and is looking next level amazing. When she first started training with me and we discussed fat loss goals she was confused as to why she wasnt able to drop body fat. Some simple nutrition guidance and tips coupled with some hard work and consistency showed her that it wasnt that hard or complicated. Her results say it all, super proud of what you have put your mind to #shred #covidshred #fatloss #goals #doingitforme #transformation #transformationtuesday #winnersaregrinners #nutrition #diet #hardwork #motivation #motivationmonday
06.01.2022 Another girl who was already beautiful 6 weeks ago but has committed whole heartedly to this process and deserves every ounce of recognition for her efforts. Sometimes its the mental strength you gain from from challenging yourself that is the real win
04.01.2022 Did you plan to stay on track with your food over Christmas but failed miserably? Are you still eating the kids lollies or have you only just remembered the stash of chips you hid for Christmas Day? Did you plan to train every day you were off work but didnt make it to the gym once?... If you did, its OK and Ill tell you why. The only fail is if you give up completely and dont get back on track. Its only a disaster if you say Im done Im giving up, throw your hands in the air and walk away from your goals. When you get back on track then you continue to make progress. THATS IT. NO FAIL. NO REGRETS. If you get back into the gym and focus on your goals then you havent failed because there is actually no time limit on any of this. The only limits are the expectations you put on yourself which lets be honest are usually fairly high and unachievable to maintain all of the time. The more pressure and negative thoughts you put on yourself and the more you tell yourself youve failed, the harder it will be to mentally get back into the effort game and be feel proud of what youve achieved. So yes, theres no rush and no end date. Life is for living but you cant keep using the excuses if diet and training havent gone to plan over the last few weeks. Get back on track, stop procrastinating and everything is gonna be OK

03.01.2022 High Protein Breakfast Ideas - Start your day off with a breakfast that is high in protein to keep you feeling fuller and help you reach your macro goals
02.01.2022 Hands up if this is you? Many people find themselves eating late at night even when theyre not hungry. These extra calories are often what pushes your daily intake over the edge leading to over eating and weight gain. First of all identify the cause. Is it a habit? Is it a sugar addiction? Are you bored? Are you eating because of an emotion that youre not addressing; anger, frustration, loneliness? Once you have identified what the trigger is its much easier to find ways ...to address your night time eating. Monitor your behaviour patterns and identify what is happening for you. Once you have done this it will become a little easier to break the cycle. Eat regularly throughout the day and have those meals planned so you dont get hungry which can lead to snacking and impulse eating. Dont have junk/ snack food in the house - it may just be better not to put temptation in your face at this point in time. Only you know what you need to do for success! If you know you need something sweet with your cup of tea after dinner - allow some calories in your daily budget to cover this. Deprivation can sometimes lead to over eating also. You eat 5 other things trying NOT to eat the biscuit and then end up having the biscuit as well! Drink water first - are you hungry or are you actually just thirsty? Our brains sometimes get this confused! I also find a touch of sugar free cordial helps me drink more water and often curbs that sweet hit Im searching for! Protein at every meal - protein fills you up for longer so having it at every meal will help keep the cravings at bay, reduce snacking and binging. Get enough sleep - the age old story; get to bed early. But its true. Less hours lying on the lounge is less time for you to be snacking. Sleep will help you with having a clear mind, making better decisions and choices. Its a hard cycle to break but once you have identified causes and triggers and you start making a genuine effort to address this it will help you focus on what you need to be doing.
02.01.2022 To use a weather analogy, a rainy day is to stress as a hurricane is to a crisis. Using an umbrella during a superstorm is like managing a crisis with simple stress-reduction techniques. You may stay dry for a few seconds, and then your grip weakens and your resolve blows away. The routines you are able to maintain during a crisis are the ropes you will use to pull yourself back through to yourself. Make exercise and movement one of them. Stick to the basics. Be kind to yourself. Sleep, eat and do what you need to do to get yourself through the day. Maintaining even just a little bit of a routine will help you through to the other side
