19.01.2022 Pure Water Solutions was called to carry out a service on an AWTS (envirocycle) at a house in Dural. The owner had called me as the serviceman just wasn't turning up as promised (he had been paid for the year in advance) The air blower wasn't operating, which generally means that the diaphragms need replacing, which they did but with an added problem - the idiot (I'm trying to be polite) had decided to use a cable tie to hold the contacts together as he didn't know how to use... the pin supplied with the diaphragms. To make things worse he had sold this as a new blower to the customer for $220 within the last 12 months (I can't purchase them for that price) With some information from the supplier I found the blower was purchased in September 2012. This was all carried out by a plumber in the area that does AWTS servicing as a sideline - BEWARE! See more

18.01.2022 Why the need for an approval to operate your AWTS (envirocycle) In 1997, an incident occurred where wastewater was found to be discharged into Wallis Lake, near Port Macquarie. The discharge came from a number of domestic septic tanks. As the Lake was used for aquaculture, an outbreak of Hepatitis A occurred, resulting in 444 people contracting the disease and one fatality. As a result, a review was undertaken and it found that councils were best placed to inspect and r...egulate the use of on-site sewage management system. Changes were made to the Local Government Act 1993 to require everyone with a on-site sewage management systems to obtain an approval to operate the system. The maximum time that an approval can be granted is five years and an approval is not transferable on the sale of a property. 17.01.2022 When it comes to servicing your envirocycle, do you have a brown nugget service or a Gold Nugget Service? I was called to service an AWTS where the client had sacked his previous technician and as it turned out rightly so. The technician had been servicing for six (6) years from the installation of the tank, in that time all, he did was to add chlorine, write the report then onto the next unsuspecting customer. The customer informed me that the blower had been replaced. I had... to inform the client that the new blower he had paid for was a poorly serviced second-hand unit that was ten (10) years old. If you are looking to upgrade/change to the Gold Nugget Service that Pure Water Solutions offer, Give Peter a call on 0417 047 757. 16.01.2022 Further to my post below where the service technician was going to take the homeowner to NSW Fair Trading for breach of contract. During the course my servicing of the system, I noticed that the effluent was not being discharged via the irrigation pump so, after removing the irrigation pump the reason was obvious - the pump was badly damaged and in an overall poor state. The technician claims to have completed his part of the contract - he obviously has a very poor standard when it comes to servicing of an AWTS. 15.01.2022 RE: Mosquitoes. Should you have an older AWTS (envirocycle type system) then this is the possible breeding site for your mosquito infestation, the life cycle of the mosquito is approx 10 days and will freely breed in still water within the tank. Have your service technician check for entry points eg. gaps under the lid/s or where cables enter the tank next to the blower in the turret - the plastic or concrete box on top of the tank. Recently I was called to a house where there were literally thousands of mosquitoes and wrigglers (pupae) in the water. Use silicone to block all entry points to the system. I hope this is of some assistance. Remember the 5 Ps Pee, Poo, Paper, Puke & Peter for a Happy Healthy System - Peter 0417 047 757

15.01.2022 Does your neighbour STINK ?????? Well, I'm sure it's not them personally, but their AWTS (Envirocycle) may be in need of a service. Drop me a PM and I will drop a card in their letterbox and those nearby - then maybe you can breath fresh air again in this festive season. Every body's a winner! Remember the 5Ps Pee, Poo, Paper, Puke & Peter for a happy healthy stink free AWTS. Peter - 0417 047 757 for prompt personal attention.

12.01.2022 Regular maintenance of your Aerated Wastewater Treatment System - AWTS (envirocycle) Be vigilant on what enters the AWTS (envirocycle) no oils, fats or harsh chemicals. Have the system serviced every three months by a competent technician. ALWAYS contact the service provider immediately the alarm is sounded or you notice a problem.... The blower filter needs to be washed every service and replaced every two years or sooner in dusty conditions. Insist that the technician shows you how the system works. Make sure that: Children do not play in the Land Application Area (LAA) Approved surface spray is to be discharged into the designated Land Application Area (LAA) with approved sprinklers - not oscillating or mist sprays. If you would like obligation free advice please give Peter a call. 11.01.2022 Toilet Paper. A little history lesson and a warning! What did people use before toilet paper was invented? Before the advent of modern toilet paper many different materials were used for the same purposes. Different materials were used depending upon the country, weather conditions, social customs and status. People used leaves, grass, ferns, corn cobs, maize, fruit skins, seashells, stone, sand, moss, snow and water. The simplest way was physical use of one's hand. Wealthy... people usually used wool, lace or hemp. WARNING - Do not flush any of the above into your AWTS (envirocycle) as they will damage your system and the tank. 06.01.2022 Apparently Mr Shonky is retiring! I was called to one of his long term clients this afternoon - what a disaster! I had the unenviable task of informing the client that during my inspection I had found numerous problems that would require immediate attention.... 1. Circuit board - faulty 2. Chlorine placed in the wrong chamber. 3. Electrical - photo attached. 4. Recirculation pump was non operational. 5. Float switch not installed correctly in irrigation chamber. 6. Septic tank overgrown. 7. No Effluent signs. 8. No lilac hose installed. 9. No sprinklers installed. 10. Effluent was being diverted into the bush and not into a designated Land Application Area (LAA) 11. Raw sewage is being emptied into our water ways as the recirculation pump had failed. 12. Septic tank lid is about to fail completely - photo attached. 13. Copy of the report was never sent to council OR it was a false report/declaration. 14. Mr Shonky always left the report in the letter box - I would suggest that Mr Shonky never did a service. There is an alternative to the service outlined above. 03.01.2022 The good, The Bad and the just plain Ugly. Another case of an Aerated Wastewater Treatment System technician being dishonest, I had been called to service two systems on the one property where the householder refused to renew his service contract as the service technician had not turned up as agreed. The service technician had also threatened to take the householder to NSW Fair Trading for breach of contract. The photos below are what I came across - You be the judge the te See more

02.01.2022 Today, I posed two questions in writing to The Hills Council to seek clarification regarding service reports and 'Approval to Install' / 'Approval to Operate' an AWTS. The questions and answers are set out below - Councils reply is in ( ) 1. On completion of an AWTS service, whose responsibility is it to submit the report to the relative council? (The AWTS service provider submits the service report to the relevant council within 1 month of the service. This is a requirement of the Approval to Operate) 2. What is councils policy when an AWTS has been installed without the relevant 'Approval to Install & Approval to Operate' (An onsite sewage management system operating without an approval carries a penalty under the Local Government Act 1993. Council will follow up if a system is found to be operating without approval)

01.01.2022 When you are trying to sell a SH-T service like mine it can become a little daunting to find new material or topic to a grab someones attention - Any suggestions? How about colour, what's your favourite colour, mine is Lilac (Well it's not really) but that will do for the moment. Here goes, I was called to a newly installed tank (AWTS - envirocycle) today to do a commissioning - first service. The tank an UltraClear is the best you can buy that was a big plus, sadly it went d...ownhill from there 'The Clown' - a term I use for a fool, moron, dimwit, simpleton, jerk, buffon, imbecile, numskull, bonehead, birdbrain and other imaginative language which I refuse to use, that had installed the system. He had talked the owner into installing a tank without council approval (first BIG red mark) the owner, without any guidance from the installer, connected a black hose from the tank for irrigating onto the LAA (Land Application Area) (second BIG red mark) and then the owner (again without guidance) installed an oscillating sprinkler to water his lawns ( third BIG BIG BIG red mark) with the spray reaching a height of about 5m and with the winds today it was blowing onto the house some 15m away. The story goes on but you have better things to do after a hard working week. By the way the hose should be LILAC - for those that knew that, you get a gold star. For those who would like an install done correctly or a quarterly service call Peter 0417 047 757. Wow, I need to have a drink after that! See more
