22.01.2022 During iso I have been rather quiet when it come to posting online. Behind the scenes is a much different story. Along with home schooling 2 boys and trying to navigate myself through this tough situation we are in, feeling cut off from friends and family, I still have to run my business. I am still going out to funeral homes, taking fingerprint impressions from those who have passed, for families who are not able to say goodbye to their loved ones in a way that we have alway...s been able to. When funerals are only allowed 10 people to attend and in person wakes are not an option, it is a privilege to be able to still provide this special service for those who choose it. 17.01.2022 October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month . Though I have not personally experienced the loss of a baby, I have some close friends and family who have. A few of them along with some parents I had never met, asked me to come to take impressions of their beautiful little bubs. Though this is an incredibly emotional experience, I feel privileged to be one of the very few people who have met these little angels. To create a keepsake so precious is truly an honour. This... month, and every month, I think of you. I grieve with you and I remember them. Though we have a way to go, we have come so far in the acknowledgement of still born children. My own Nan who gave birth to still born twins, told me the story of how she was never even able to see or hold her babies. They were taken away from her as soon as they were born, the doctor simply saying "your babies are dead." There was no support, and no funeral. Back then, parents were expected to forget about their loss and just get on with life. Being self employed and a Mum of 2 boys heading back to remote learning means working nights / weekends when necessary to keep on track with orders.
