21.01.2022 Why would you use the piece of equipment ? Long but important answer.... Sarcopenia is defined as the age related decrease in skeletal muscle mass, function and strength. Osteoporosis is a condition where bones become weak and brittle. The World Health Organisation (WHO) recommends muscle strengthening activity should be done a minimum of 2 days per week. ... The trap bar in the photo is a safe and effective exercise for improving muscle size and strength in all population groups, including middle aged and older adults. Exercises such as the deadlift are an exercise that provide the mechanical load required for bone formation, they are one of a number of exercises prescribed to exceed the threshold of strain required for bone remodelling. Deadlifts target the major muscle groups attached to the hip and the spine. Resistance training is a safe and effective way to improve muscle mass and strength in middle-aged and older adults. This is to reduce the natural effects of ageing that we are ALL going to experience! See more

19.01.2022 You know you’re in safe hands when the gym is owned by 2 Exercise Physiologists, and it’s in an old church! Exercise Physiologist’s are much more than a personal trainer or gym instructor. They (we) are tertiary educated, with extensive knowledge about the human body and the benefit that exercise has on it, both mentally and physically. The ability to tailor exercise to your specific needs takes a gym membership to a whole new level...Less injuries and more benefits! Talk to your doctor to see if you qualify for Medicare funded visits, or call us or pop in for more information

13.01.2022 Due to today's latest happenings, masks will be compulsory when in the gym. Please keep up with the QR code, the sanitising and the social distancing. We will also be cancelling tomorrow's class as a precaution and will keep everyone posted for the Tuesday morning session. Please share this information with non-facebookers.

13.01.2022 To the person who's dog leaves little presents on the footpath outside for people to see. Please start picking it up !!

12.01.2022 Sorry people, we will be closed on Monday the 5th for a day off. We hope everyone enjoys their long weekend and we will see you bright and early on Tuesday at 5am.

12.01.2022 Nathan and the ladies class. Showing us twice a week that a chat and a good laugh is just as important as the exercise. @nathanveness we are lucky to have you !

12.01.2022 10 minutes minimum will make a difference to your health. Intervals are a great option, but so is just moving! You could stop in and have a pedal before your coffee, or during your walk, or on your way to the shops. The gym is not meant to be a chore, it’s meant to enhance your wellbeing...so think of ways you could squeeze in some activity during your day.

11.01.2022 We are pleased to announce that will be open from Saturday the 13th June at 6am. The gym will be accessible 24 hours for members who have their codes. We ask that members make themselves aware of the distancing, cleaning and sanitising procedures, and follow them correctly. Members will also be required to sign in on entry. Relevant products will be placed at various locations throughout the gym, with bins to discard waste. Please use.... The gym will be limited to 15 patrons downstairs and 20 upstairs. Our equipment 'reshuffle' has allowed for this. When using the gym please be aware of other members when it comes to the use of equipment during busy periods, especially with occupying more than one station. The more we are individually considerate, the better it will be for everybody. Also, please be focussed on not touching your face with your hands and/or wiping your face with your towel after it has just been on a bench or a machine. Fitness Passport holders please contact us to arrange a temporary membership until the FP program is back functioning. Group fitness timetable will come out tomorrow. There will be changes unfortunately and we thank you for your understanding. Thank you for your patience and ongoing support. We look forward to a fresh start, reset let's go!

05.01.2022 Cortisol (a stress hormone) is at its highest levels early in the morning. This can make you anxious and stressed. Exercising first thing in the morning makes you feel better because it reduces cortisol levels. A walk, jog or any workout will leave you feeling more calm, happier and you’ll be more productive throughout the day. Worth a try...
