23.01.2022 Life, love, laughter............loooonnnnng days, loud kids, lazy couch @netflixanz binges. The world has had a major shift. But if there is one thing I know about us humans, we'll conquer and we'll survive. But the process to get there may be long. What is guaranteed, we will all come out of this changed. Our value and belief system would have shifted and perspective and a strength of community will be the greatest learning we will take away from this. ... But just like this, business evolves. You grow so much from the time you begin your business and sometimes the model you started with shifts to suit a new direction. This is where I am at now with @purehomebody. It is evolving, quite organically, into the next phase of business. And I am proud and very excited to make the shift, grow the brand and build the community further that surround this low tox, sassy lifestyle. And what better time than now. 22.01.2022 Given the current circumstances around being clean I can understand the concern about going for a natural alternative. But I wanted to emphasize the importance of understanding that chemical cleaners may still not be the answer. The @purehomebody range is designed to dissolve germs and make them easy to remove from surfaces. Exactly like most other chemical based cleaning products just without the toxic burden on the household. 'But Cara..., they say on the label it Kills 99.9% of germs' Ah, this is where they fool you. Don't worry I was fooled too. If you have a look at the claim on the label, next to this very infamous marketing statement will be an asterix. If you turn over the product and look at the label on the back and locate the asterix, you will notice a list of germs it is effective against. So yes, it may kill 99.9% of germs but only these germs. Let's take the classic White King Multipurpose Powerful Cleaner for example (Sorry White King) It's label is sprayed with this claim. If I turn over the bottle and look at what it kills 99.9% of it reads: 'Evaluated against - P.areuginosa, E.Coli, P. Vulgaris, S. aureus' 4 germs. Hmmmmm. There are more than 4 germs that exist in the common household. So that means this product is doing exactly the same thing as the @purehomebody Multipurpose Cleaning Spray just that this bad girl doesn't harm you in the process. Do yourself a favour next time you hit that cleaning isle, pick up a product and check out their claims. Are they really superior in cleaning or superior in harming. 18.01.2022 As you know my family has intolerances. Well, only 2 of us. Yep hubby and surprisingly me. I found out I had a genetic gluten intolerance. No symptoms besides the occasional indigestion which I put down to a little over indulgence. But I've learned to cook without gluten and to reduce the lactose in our meals. And this recipe the kids and hubby froth over. 1 Cup Gluten Free Flour 1 Cup Lactose Free Milk 1 Egg... 60 gm butter or Nuttelex melted 1 tbs Coconut sugar 1/2 tsp Cinnamon 1/4 tsp Baking Powder 1 tsp Vanilla Extract of 1 Vanilla Pod scrapped Pinch Salt I throw everything into my @thermomixaus and blitz for 20 seconds on Speed 5. The key is to let the mixture set for a bit. You are more than welcome to get them cranking on the stove but you'll find over time they will look better and cook better. I doubled the recipe to create this batch of pancakes. You can also add Banana or berries into the mix to give it some additional fruity pop. Serve with fresh berries, maple syrup and @Bulla lactose free cream. See more

17.01.2022 I sent my kids back to school with these safety measures. Oh my gosh, one child back to school! One still homeschooling. Who else sent their kids back to school today? Up until yesterday afternoon it was actually a no go. But after much deliberation and looking at the data for WA, I feel comfortable with the move. ... But I did put some safety measures in place. I reinforced hand washing like it was no tomorrow. But this hasn't been a new thing for me. I have always been one for keeping those grubs clean. It must stem from my Pharmacy and my mum's terrible repulsion for sputum aka spit (despite being a nurse). I also sent him to school with his own @purehomebody Foaming Handwash. Call me crazy but that school has all too often let me down with the restock of hand wash in the kids the bathroom (I highly doubt this will be the case this time around given the circumstances but better safe than sorry). I also lightly spray a combination of tea tree, eucalyptus and peppermint on his school uniform. One to keep it fresh (you know what kids smell like after school right, especially boys), two, to boost concentration. And three, to provide protection against germs.
