24.01.2022 Jersey History - Hall of Fame Katandra Melys 65 (sire Katandra Royal Jingo, Dam Katandra Melys 41) pictured winning Champion Cow Melbourne Royal 1975. Melys 65 was sold at Katandra dispersal and she would travel across the Tasman to New Zealand to the Madeley Park stud. The calf she was carrying was Madeley Park Sea Voyager, sired by Tavistock Twylish King who carried a lot of Jersey Island blood including Jingo’s Rush Dreamer. Voyager sired Hasty Sea Ripple, she is the dam of Hasty River Twylight Red who sired great Show and production daughters. Tavistock Twylish King also sired first prize Heifer 18 months old, Melbourne Royal 1975.

21.01.2022 Cow Family - Sweetrose. Ardlay Pride’s Sweetrose 2, her sire Golden Oak Grant’s Pride, NZ ( Sire Beledene Grants Sunking, Dam Golden Oak B’s Pixie, 7782 litres, 811 Milk solids at 10 years ) her dam Ardlay Sweetrose 74, PJBA OFC Champion 2014. (Her sire Ardlay Bosses Dundee was a son of Linmore Zebs Boss from Ardlay Design’s Lorna) Prides Sweetrose 2, Grand dam was by our bull Dartanyon he carried Merriland, Linmore, Tarnhowe and Fran...cliff in his pedigree and he is the maternal grandsire of Ardlay Grandious Lorna 2 OFC Champion 2018. Next dam sired by Karravale Sultans Dan and he sired 2009 OFC Champion cow and he left very good cows in this stud. His pedigree carried Merriland, Tarnhowe, Hasty River and Coolara cattle. Fourth dam Ardlay Sweetrose 2, Sup 92 was the calf, Winrae Glads Sweetrose 18 (Show Champion ) was carrying when she was purchased. She has in her pedigree Ferdon Tandra’s Gladiator twice and Katandra Incomparable four times and Ferdon Lords Heirloom. The Sweetrose family have been a great cow family. Sweetrose 2 has just won her in milk class in the photographic OFC 2020 competition. See more

21.01.2022 Jersey History- Hall of Fame. Glamorgan Rex’s Leaf. (maternal grand dam of Linmore Red Royal, he would sire Glanton Red Dante, New Zealand’s Sire of the Century).

20.01.2022 Johannesberg Jerseys ( Joshua Bergman ). Bull - Johannesberg Goat (sire Densondale Rebel Pete NZLM 307731, Dam Johannesberg Ileto, she is sired by Birkewood Moonlight ) He carries the poll gene and has a high daughter rate. His dam carries bloodlines Francliff Illusion, Ilagay, Watfern, Ileto and Barwidgee Linda.

Jutland Royal Silvermine Sup 92 (Kaarmona Royal Star, Homelands Opals Silvermine) Opals Silvermine’s dam was Katandra Silvermine 134 Exc, Champion Cow Adelaide Royal 1980, her sire Katandra Royal Jingo a son of Katandra Designs Hazel 29. (Pictured on PJBA Site ).Opals Silvermine was awarded Junior Champion at Adelaide Royal ‘79, by judge Stan Walker, Warwick jerseys. Jutland Royal Silvermine was purchased at Jutl...and dispersal in 1988, she was the matriarch of our Silvermine family. (The sale catalogue stated her vessel, teat placement and capacity are what every breeder dreams of breeding, she is a magnificent bodied heifer with tremendous constitution) second cow pictured is Ardlay Rewards Silvermine (Rapid Bay Reward) 6 generations from Royal Silvermine. Rewards Silvermine would also win classes in OFC competitions. Unfortunately Rewards Sivermine, (7yrs old) died 26/8/20 during calving. See more

14.01.2022 Memories - It’s 1996. Daniel wins - heifer calf class (David is holding Daniel’s calf ) Peter leading Winrae Glads Sweetrose 18 - Wins Junior Champion. Daniel - I tell him there’s no ‘take two’ I’m out of film. He says a man from newspaper is going to take a picture because he is the youngest exhibitor at the show. Dam and daughter winning their classes, twenty four years later they have over 33 female descendants in the stud and... many more through the male side born from a Sweetrose. David milks at second dairy (awarded one of the top farms for quality milk for Australia for the year) and Daniel at the home farm milking the descendants of these two jerseys. Ardlay Pride’s Sweetrose 2 ( 4 generations from this calf ) has just won her in milk class OFC 2020, her dam Champion 2014. Daniel picks Ardlay Austral Beryl 97 for 2019 OFC and she wins CHAMPION. 14.01.2022 Jersey History- Hall of Fame Francliff Ilagay 5th ( Tolgarth Illusion appears three times in Ilagay 5th pedigree, she is also her 4th dam.) Ilagay 5th sire Francliff Imperial sired Francliff Incomparable he would go onto sire Katandra Incomparable.

08.01.2022 Great Cow Family, Austral Beryl. (Grandeur Dreaming Sam, grandson of Big Hollow Dreaming Major). Her maternal line has Hasty River Roslyn’s Sultan, Hasty River Twylight Red, Skelbrook Last Chance ( last son of Skelbrook Incomparable’s Cuddles 23 Exc, an Australian record holder for production). Shenstone Gold Nugget whose sire Warwick Entransit was born on ship while his dam Merriland Lady Lynette travelled from New Zealand. Nuggets grand dam was Grandeur Royal Rainier. Back ...to the matriarch of the Austral Beryl family, Nirravale Austral Beryl 9 sired by a bull with full Beledene blood by Beledene Major Success from Beledene Fortune Ring. Beryl 9 was a beautiful bodied cow and a strong cow family was bred from her. 2019 OFC Champion descends from this cow. Cow pictured has a son by Golden Oak Grants Pride, Ardlay Prides Count, who was used at farm 2 last season. He’s been collected and will be used at both farms. Other cow pictured is Ardlay Austral Beryl 25 grand dam of Beryl 56, and great Aunty to Ardlay Austral Beryl 79 by Yellow Briar Heath’s Guapo pictured in comments. 08.01.2022 Jersey History - Hall of Fame. Beledene Dukes Lord. This bull carried 380 strains of Jersey Island bull Fern’s Noble in his pedigree. The Revell family believed Dukes Lord was the best bull they ever used.(New Zealand)

04.01.2022 Great Cow family - Waterlily. Ardlay Andrew’s Waterlily. Her sire carried Merriland Ideal Major, Santis Florette, Linmore Banners Fairlane and Merriland Sultans Alicia in his pedigree. Waterlily’s grand dam was Waterlily 2 and she was a daughter of Jutland Designs Status. Status was a grandson of Big Hollow Follys Sultan and Madeley Park Echo’s Briar an all breeds record holder for 2-3 year olds in New Zealand. From Waterlily 2 we bred a top... bull, Ardlay Hasty Twilite sired by Hasty River Twylight Red. He would sire great production daughters and his last daughter calved 2020, 16 years old and she was a slipped calf. Andrew’s Waterlily’s paternal brother, Ardlay Dartanyon used with great success is the paternal grandsire of Ardlay Grandious Lorna 2, 94 pts, PJBA OFC Champion 2018 and Ardlay Sweetrose 74, 92 pts, PJBA OFC Reserve Champion 2013, Champion 2014. Ardlay Dartanyon’s dam was Nirravale Bonza’s Dulcie, her sire Francliff Sam’s Bonanza 2. She also had Katandra Incomparable, Ferdon Vins Sandra and Francliff Sam’s Immix in her pedigree. See more

01.01.2022 Ardlay Troopers Bluemist 2 (Sire Ardlay Super Trooper son of a Ardlay HR Troubador from the Sweetrose family traces back to Winrae Beacon’s Sweetrose 14, (Ferdon Grand Beacon)Show Champion, she was 3/4 Ferdon blood. Bluemist’s dam was sired by Rapid Bay Grandious and she carried a beautiful udder, unfortunately lost this season, was 8 years old. Bluemist AI’d to Gentry. The Bluemist family traces back to Rockvale Leo’s Violet imported into Australia in 1957 from New Zealand.
