25.01.2022 November is Recovery Month at PureWill Week 1 - Massage is almost done with Week 2 - Sleep about to start so what better way to see the old week out and the new one in than with a massage to help you sleep. This Shiatzu Hand Massage is a great way to help you sleep. Try it out.... https://handshiatsu.imfast.io Shiatsu means finger pressure in Japanese. Your Shiatsu massage therapist will apply firm pressure using fingers, elbows, knees and feet along specific points of your body called meridians, to release tension and balance your 'Chi' or Energy.

25.01.2022 Just because it's a Public Holiday doesn't mean you can't train. Check our timetable and we will see you Monday.

25.01.2022 Recovery month at PureWill and we are into day 2 of Sleep week. Tip 2 for a restful sleep looks at creating a sleep inducing bedroom environment. * low light to trigger Melatonin, the sleep hormone * cool and quiet * limit the number of electronic devices in the room. Even if you aren't using them they can emit low radiation that affects sleep. So no TV computers laptops or phones in the room.... * comfortable mattress and bedsheets to make it cosy Happy sleeping zzzzz

25.01.2022 We know some of our members have a true dislike for the air dyne but would they go so far as to convince Coach Matt to trash one!?

24.01.2022 We are OPEN TOMORROW - Monday 15 June As you should well and truly know by now tomorrow is the grand re-opening and we are all so excited to welcome all the members and friends of the Pure Will community back. We had some good workouts on ZOOM but lets be realistic, you don't just train with Pure Will for the exercise...we train together cause we actually like the people, the positive environment, the place we can exercise safely and trust the advice, its about the community... and PURE WILL IS BACK!!!! The post COVID environment is still a little different and be patient with us while we iron out the creases and respond to the continuously changing advice from Government and the Fitness industry. The big change from last week is we are now allowed to have 20 people per class which is huge, we never get 20 per class so we no longer need to panic about bookings :) but we still need to be conscious of maintaining social distancing. bear with us while we figure out how to manage this new allowance ad read below for more details. COVID RESTRICTIONS: We have developed our own set of policies and procedures based on the info and guidelines from the commonwealth government and Fitness industry bodies. These include guidelines around cleaning, social distancing, equipment use ect. See the email for a copy of these, they are also up at the studio. CLASS BOOKING SYSTEM: We recently introduced a booking system and thank you to everyone who has been using it. Class sizes have recently been extended to 20 people so it is not as important to book as it was before. However, if you can still book please do cause it will help us prepare space for the class better. But if you can't book its okay to still show up. TIMETABLE: The new timetable starts tomorrow. No more ZOOM and no more Bootcamps. See below for more details. YOGA: Those who regularly do yoga will have noticed there is no in person yoga on the timetable yet. We are working on it. Unfortunately, over the past few weeks we lost both our wonderful yoga instructors. But we have some fantastic leads and we are looking forward to consulting with our yoga members and new instructors to add in person classes back on the timetable. MONEY STUFF: We are re-activating your memberships from 15 June. Excluding Yoga memberships. See more details below.

21.01.2022 Recovery month at PureWill and we have reached the middle of Sleep week! Tip 3 for sleep week is all about crafting a pre-bedtime routine. * Switch off electronic devices from 6:30pm or turn on the blue light filter or use low blue light glasses when using devices before bedtime * Dim the lights to trigger your body to release Melatonin - the sleep hormone... * Do some simple relaxation exercises or meditation before bed * Keep to your regular bedtime as often as possible Happy sleeping zzzzz

Perform each set of exercises 4 times then rest 1 minute before moving to the next set of exercises. Do 10 reps of the main exercise then perform the hold for the rest of the minute. Don't forget to warm up first and stretch after. ... Good luck and Enjoy! And stay hydrated especially in the heat of the day!

It is with great pleasure to inform you we are registered and our whole team is keeping up to date on any policies and safety plans needed to keep you training safe at our studio.

16.01.2022 Despite all the rain we have had recently it is still important to stay hydrated! And being out last week of Recovery Month hydration is important to help recovery. 60% of your body is water so keeping hydrated is essential. Drinking fluids is crucial to staying healthy and maintaining the function of every system in your body, including your heart, brain, and muscles. It also helps to regulate your body temperature, keep joints lubricated, and prevent infections. Fluids carry nutrients to your cells, flush bacteria from your bladder, and prevent constipation and are critical to liver and kidney function. And water is the most logical form of hydration.

12.01.2022 This week at PureWill our focus is Sleep, which is important for RECOVERY. 7 to 8 hours of QUALITY sleep is essential for your body and mind to recharge and restore itself particularly after activity. QUALITY Sleep means you are getting at least 5 REM cycles, or sleep cycles, during the night. The REM phase of sleep is the deepest phase where most of the repair work is done. This occurs approximately every 90 minutes during your sleep cycle. To ensure you are getting QUALITY ...sleep you need to set yourself up with good patterns and routines. Tip 1 for Sleep is keeping a consistent sleep pattern. Waking up at the same time each day (yes even on the weekends!) and getting to bed at a time that will get you 7 - 8 hours of sleep. Happy Sleeping!

12.01.2022 The PureWill Weekly Newsletter - Our first one for 2021! https://mailchi.mp//purewill-weekly-newsletter-our-first-f

11.01.2022 Willspiration is back Great! Now I have to start again This feeling is not new for anyone. You are not alone. Most of us are feeling it now, coming back from this pandemic after 3 months of doing very little or even nothing. But I can guarantee we have all felt this way at some point when it comes to our health and fitness. I am here to remind you that when it comes to returning to training, be kind to yourself. Give yourself time to get back to the gym and get used to you...r schedule of exercising again. The greatest goal at a time like this is to build back CONSISTENCY. That is good regular patterns and habits. Just start showing up. Don't smash yourself, just move. Once you are showing up again consistently you can let us help focus on your quality movement again, making sure we wake up the correct muscles and movement patterns. Allow for some time for muscle memory to return and work on appropriate bracing. Focusing on technique will make sure we reduce our risk of injury. The speed and strength and power will follow and come back with time. Be patient and be consistent. Everyone will be different on how long it will take to get back to where you were. So many contributing variables, such as age, what movement you did over the time away, previous injuries will impact your training and therefore our first goal of building back consistency. I know that when clients ask me, How long is it going to take me to get back to where I was? my answer is always vague and different, because we are individuals and there is no definitive answer for anyone. The rule of thumb is to give yourself about half the time you originally were away before you start trying to test yourself at the level that you were before or beyond. Fitness and Health always works in waves, no matter your skill level, so it is very important to start slower than you initially want. It is much better to take it slow and build it back consistently rather than going further back because you went too hard too fast and injured yourself. Give yourself a break from the guilt trip and self-shaming. You will be back before you know it and we will be here to help you along the way. Enjoy the journey and the friends beside you on it.

10.01.2022 With all the wet weather recently the Ducks were bound to make an appearance at our 6am Boxing class today for Wack- It Wednesday!

09.01.2022 Willspiration "I don't care" I have been thinking about this for a while, and I have come to the conclusion that one of the most dangerous phrases to say in response to anything is, I don’t care.... Why? Because not only does it shut down conversations or put a complete stop to the thing you are doing with no where to go from that point, but mainly it discredits your opinion. It makes you look lazy or uncaring to your own thoughts and actions and therefore others are more likely to perceive you that way as well. I understand why people say it; because it seems like an easier option and it takes less effort. But you should care! You should care if you are walking around in pain. You should care that you are over or under your ideal healthy weight. You should care that you are not strong enough to get up and down from the ground. You should care that you can’t take your kids out for a bike ride or a walk through the bush. You should care if you keep missing your workouts you set yourself up to do. You should care to ask questions or ask for help. It is never a weakness to care. It’s just more work to care rather than just saying I don’t care. But the pay off is you are finding your own strength to work towards what you really care about and help yourself to think through your opinion and act on it. There is no use in just sitting back thinking you can’t so making yourself believe (and the people around you think) you don’t care while staying unhappy. Now is the perfect time to ask yourself what you care about, be vulnerable and find a way to work towards those things.
