But tomorrow is a brand new day, new month & new year, and like the rising of the sun, it gives us all a chance to move on. 23.01.2022 While many people opt to have a shower for speed & convenience, the health benefits of a relaxing bath are often underestimated. Putting the time aside for a long soak in the bath at least once or twice a week can be hugely beneficial to your overall well-being. Taking a warm bath is an excellent way to de-stress, helping to relax the mind & cope with any overwhelm or anxiety. In fact, there are some scientific studies that show having a soak once a day for two months is a...ctually more beneficial as a stress-curer than prescription medications!! A bath causes all the main muscle groups in the body to relax, helping lower blood pressure, reduce cramps, improve muscle elasticity and ease tension headaches. As a result of muscle and mind relaxation, it will be no surprise to hear that baths will help you sleep better. The rise and subsequent fall of your body temperature (once you are out of the bath) also plays a part in a better night’s sleep. This fall in body temperature releases melatonin, which regulates all your body’s rhythms, including sleep. A hot bath will cause you to perspire, carrying away with it toxins, bacteria and viruses. As well as this, the steam will open up the airways to your lungs, helping to relieve sinusitis, asthma and bronchitis. The increased blood flow means congestion will be reduced, as will inflammation in the respiratory system. Perspiration will also clean your skin far more thoroughly than soap & water; it opens your pores, meaning grime, dead skin cells and other impurities will be washed away. Why not add some natural oils to your bath to help soothe both the skin and mind? A relaxing bath can actually offer the same therapeutic benefits of a hydrotherapy spa, it’s just easier to get to and way cheaper. Light some candles, put on some calming background music & take advantage of this sanctuary in your own home. See more

Observe how you judge both yourself & those around you This quote from Tim Ferris reminds us that when we stop & slow down we can become more observant of so many things. We become the witness!! Meditation is one way to achieve this!! It helps you become more accepting of yourself, other people, places & events. And when you become more accepting, the tendency to judge, critique or jump to conclusions dissipates.... A Regular Meditation practice can pave the way for compassion towards ourselves and then this has a ripple effect towards compassion for others. See more

Yoga is about knowing how your body feels TODAY, not how it felt yesterday or how you'd like it to feel. Everday is a new day and everyday your body is experiencing something different - so it is your job to listen to it and work with it & not against it. 2. Know Your Limits - It's important to treat your body's limitations with patience a...nd kindness. Not only can pushing your body past its limits cause physical harm, but being hard on yourself for not being able to perform a pose perfectly doesn't align with Yoga's philosophy. No-one is a Master not even our yoga guru's when you acknowledge that you are on a journey and your practice is a work in progress then your Yoga experience will be so much more rewarding. 3. Stay Mindful of Your Breath - The heart of Yoga is its ability to transform peace and tranquility. This we can do through the breath so whilst in a pose be mindful of your breathing and connect with it as your move and transition through your poses. 4. Stick With It - Consistency is the key ... the more you do, the better and more benefits you will feel and see. 19.01.2022 I hope you are all as excited as this beautiful little one is? I know I am because SANTA is on his way & I really LOVE Christmas!! What I LOVE most about Christmas is the traditions, We all come together to put up our tree with our Disney Santa hats on & Christina Aguilera - My Christmas cranked up!! We sing, dance and decorate the tree, we have never missed a year. This year we started early because Bella was up for a few days and it would be sacrilege to put up the t...ree without her. Usually on Christmas Day we like to volunteer in the local community & offer some assistance to those who need a little help. This year with COVID things are a little different so we will spend X’Mas with Bella in rural NSW having a real country Christmas .... perhaps marking the start of possibly a new tradition!! And KINDNESS is my word for 2021 Once I’ve settled on my word I usually write it on a rock, though this year as I went for my first walk in the Bush I found a beautiful piece of bark. Tribute to shedding away the last year ready to unveil new opportunities, adventures and potential for 2021 This word I keep close to my heart, it’s to remind me how I will live each day and gives me the opportunity to... contemplate how I will invite more kindness into my life. 16.01.2022 Following what transpired in 2020, I wish I could put pen to paper & write my hopes & goals for 2021 with total certainty about how it will all play out. . There’s part of me that wishes I could sit down today & decide without any doubt what I will learn in February, what I will achieve in March, and what I will share with the world in April and beyond. . But somehow I continue to discover, year after year, that life doesn’t quite turn out the way I imagined. Yes, I am a ...planner & prefer not to do things at the last minute or at the drop of the hat ... So there are always quite a few things that go completely as planned, but if there is one thing that 2020 has taught me, it might just be that we don’t have as much control as we had hoped & thought!! . So as I map out my hopes & dreams for 2021, I will hold them loosely and try to trust that there’s a divine energy that’s much bigger than mine ... One that will guide & direct me so that in the end, I will learn what I need to learn, in the time that I need to learn it. . 11.01.2022 There were some happy yogis yesterday after our 1/2 day Urban Retreat. We sang, we laughed, shared some heartfelt stories and yes we did do some yoga and meditation It was a magic day in the studio there was a beautiful sense of calmness and serenity like we had all arrived home

We practiced a Detox Yoga Sequence full of twists, flexio a and inversions We drank freshly slow press green detox juice and nibbled our way through handmade gluten, dairy and sugar free treats. ... We sharpened our meditation skills with Mandala Drawing and then drifted off to Blissland with a Restorative Practice Ohhhh not to forget going home with Homemade Lavender & Rosemary Detox Bath Salts, Peace Inhaler, Detox Tea, an affirmation card and all the recipes from today’s morsels A good day had by all

07.01.2022 How was your first day of 2021 ? Yesterday I saw a plethora of posts saying good riddens to a crap year that people would rather forget. Sure it wasn’t the year people thought that they’d walk into .... it wasn’t the direction I anticipated Pure Yoga to move into but not once did I curse or describe the year as crap. ... Mainly because I saw it as an opportunity to get comfortable with the uncomfortable and follow the path of least resistance all elements we honour in our yoga practice Admittedly I did have a few cries out of sheer mental exhaustion If we learnt nothing from 2020 than to be grateful for the precious gift we call LIFE than there was some GOOD from a turbulent year Whilst I don’t have a crystal ball I did say from the outset of this pandemic not to get comfortable thinking we will wake up on 1st January 2021 and this will have all gone away So let’s not label this year as crap, shit or whatever words of choice you choose What about leaning into 2021 with more ; Love Kindness Gratitude Softness Curiosity Non Judgement Open mindedness Acceptance Here’s cheers to year of what WE CHOOSE to make of it See you on the mat .... online from Monday 4th January

03.01.2022 How would you like a new body? ... Like the rising of the sun signaling the start of a new day, so too can practicing Pilates signal the re-engineering of a new body. And the easiest way to achieve this is by attending a group Mat Pilates class. Mat Pilates work is the basis for the entire Pilates system of exercises by working your legs, stomach and lower & upper back muscles. On the mat, your body weight provides resistance against gravity, making the workout way more c...hallenging in many cases. You must be in full control of your body, rather than relying on the assistance or support of the springs & cables of an apparatus. Mat work is a great option for beginners because it emphasises the need to actually control your muscles during the exercises. But don’t be fooled, advanced mat classes can be some of the hardest as you’re using your body all the time & don’t have any relief of an apparatus assisting or supporting you. Mat Pilates is definitely challenging & when you add in some small props (Pilates ball, roller and Pilates circle), it’s an awesome workout!! Just ask any of our students ... The typical comment I hear after each class is this just never seems to get any easier!! Many of our students have been attending our mat Pilates’ classes for well over 10 years & simply love it!!. With a mat Pilates class, you will see results (improved strength, posture, agility, flexibility, toned muscles) within just a few mat sessions And as Joseph Pilates said - In 10 sessions you'll feel a difference, in 20 sessions you'll see a difference, and in 30 sessions you'll have a whole new body. 03.01.2022 Yoga wasn’t my first exercise love!! I was a hard core gym addict, I’d teach up to 10 classes a week from Body Attack, Step, Pump & Combat and lived on the Adrenaline high. Until my physical & emotional body decided one day to say ENOUGH is enough!! Not prepared to stop moving I found yoga. That was over 25 years ago & it now is my first love when it comes to exercise. She gave a humble reply, The ball doesn’t know how old I am. ... You need to stop yourself from stopping yourself. Every game in life is actually played on a 6-inch ground the space between your two ears. We don't live in houses, duplexes, or flats. We live in our mind which is an unlimited area. Life is great when things are sorted and uncluttered there. And after a very big week teaching & preparing for our Urban Wellness Retreat last Saturday (& not getting home until 7pm) and dealing with those 2 days of exhausting heat, I knew that I needed some down time. Life can rush by us so quickly & we only get to enjoy it when we take the opportunity to slow down. With a slower approach to life, we can ponder some thoughtful questions like Should I . 02.01.2022 People often ask me how & when do I Meditate? I am just as busy as the rest of you so I do it wherever & whenever I can. Other than when I am teaching a live meditation in our Online Yoga Community, I aim to practice my meditation first thing in the morning as it truely sets the tone for the whole day. Once you have mastered the skill, it comes quite naturally but you do have to be consistent - like brushing your teeth!!... Take today for example ...
