24.01.2022 My latest review on RateMyAgent: "From the start things went very smoothly. A good knowledge of the market and potential buyers made the whole experience very easy. The property was shown to advantage and sold quickly. Nick has a friendly, easy going manner that made dealing with him a breeze."

22.01.2022 Stock levels are amazingly low at the moment and we are seeing great buyer demand. There has potentially never been a more logical time to sell. Congratulations to Peter Blackshaw Woden on a great result with this listing.

19.01.2022 Another great photo from our postcard collection. Green Square, Kingston - circa 1960.

15.01.2022 JB Young's Store, Kingston, 1925 Canberra's first department store, J B Young Ltd, opened at Eastlake (Kingston) in December 1925, much to the relief of Canberr...a's new residents. Until then the only shops were at Queanbeyan, with the exception of a small co-operative store near the railway station. Supplying residents with groceries, clothing, hardware, haberdashery and other domestic goods, Young's became a household name in Canberra for more than fifty years. Other businesses to open in Kingston included a general store, butcher, Greek cafe, bakery, newsagency, motor shop and bowser, tailor, barbershop, tobacconist, jeweller, and dentist. When the prohibition of alcohol in Canberra was lifted in December 1928, the government opened a public bar in one of the empty shops at Kingston. Known as the Kingston Cafe, the bar sold beer, brandy, whiskey, port, sherry, absinthe and tobacco products until the permanent Hotel Kingston opened a short walk from the Kingston shops in 1936. Despite Kingston's reputation as a lower class suburb, its shopping centre was highly regarded by the Canberra community. Early residents recall dressing up for the weekly shopping trips to Kingston. Friday night shopping, which was introduced in late 1926, was described as having 'a carnival atmosphere' and became a social occasion that saw all classes of the community mixing. 15.01.2022 If this eventuates, Canberra’s median house price will be around $820,000 by the end of this year.

13.01.2022 My latest review on RateMyAgent: "Nick has a sound understanding of the different markets in Canberra and a realistic assessment of property values. He is not pushy, but was open to our questions and followed up to have them answered promptly."
