24.01.2022 I caught the second last day of the Archibald, Wynne and Sulman prizes, so needless to say (even with booked tickets) it was very busy @agnsw. One piece that stood out and continuously had a crowd of admirers was Julianne Allcorn’s award winning piece titled ‘Mollitium 2’ Congratulations @juliallcorn who was awarded the Trustees Watercolour Prize 2020 in the Wynne. What an achievement! I saw many visitors to the gallery taking photographs of this splendid three panel piece. T...he triptych is large - 185.5cm x 329cm WOW! And it has been purchased too! Before he left for a one year stay in the USA, Ray experienced the full onslaught of the recent bushfires and fled to an evacuation centre for safety. Ray was awarded a local creative arts scholarship in Goulburn to create a series of artworks in response to these December 2019 bushfires. Some of these works are being shown locally in December 2020 on the one-year anniversary, and to coincide with the the Braidwood show, an exhibition of the collection will be exhibited at Purple Noon Gallery. . Defined by traffic, throngs of people, and a repeated pattern of artificial and natural light, Matthew Fennelly captures the ephemerality and speed of modern city life and the anonymity of busy urban spaces. Matthew’s ability to capture the ephemeral resonates with views of familiar Sydney street scenes, and stacked bookshelves. He has a sophisticated understanding of, and outstanding ability, to add depth and space to two-dimensional surfaces. 17.01.2022 The lead up to Christmas was just a whirlwind of visitors, enquiries, sales and packaging. No wonder I was utterly exhausted by the time the big day arrived Now that I’m rested and reopening the gallery this Thursday there’s a little more time - and at a slow and relaxed pace. I will post some of my favourites from the recently opened exhibitions (which will run until the end of January). The sedate and dignified wall colour confirms it’s one of the rooms in Designer Sibella Court’s home, and the intricate patterning lends itself perfectly to Kate’s informal yet sophisticated style. And it didn’t disappoint! I urge you all to visit if you can @agnsw Each painting reflects its moment in time and yet I felt a sense of contemporaneity in their naturalistic impressionism. Before he left for a one year stay in the USA, Ray experienced the full onslaught of the recent bushfires and fled to an evacuation centre for safety. Ray was awarded a local creative arts scholarship in Goulburn to create a series of artworks in response to these December 2019 bushfires. Some of these works are being shown locally in December 2020 on the one-year anniversary, and to coincide with the the Braidwood show, an exhibition of the collection will be exhibited at Purple Noon Gallery. . Defined by traffic, throngs of people, and a repeated pattern of artificial and natural light, Matthew Fennelly captures the ephemerality and speed of modern city life and the anonymity of busy urban spaces. Matthew’s ability to capture the ephemeral resonates with views of familiar Sydney street scenes, and stacked bookshelves. He has a sophisticated understanding of, and outstanding ability, to add depth and space to two-dimensional surfaces.
