25.01.2022 Dell Women's Entrepreneur Network event in Toronto. Women don't ask for funds until they've bled themselves dry. Not so for men. It's time to educate our young people - including the girls - about money and how to work with it. #education #askforfunding #femaleentrepreneurs https://bit.ly/2uX3kBl

25.01.2022 If you experience persistent feelings of self-doubt, you may have encountered the Imposter Syndrome. It's not too late to register for a free webinar tomorrow where I talk with Melissa Richardson and Redback Conference's Sara Gonzalez about the Imposter Syndrome and why it has a significant impact on performance. http://ow.ly/VlFa30duH2U

23.01.2022 Do you have a secret passion? Is there something you want to do in your business and haven't yet got to it? When something isn't urgent, it can be so easy to postpone it. Who's going to know right? One way to bring your great idea to life is to work with someone to help you mould it, challenges perceptions that get in the way, provides an environment that makes mistakes really work for us and cheers us on when we achieve what we set out to. Starting this Friday, Project Passion #5 is definitely worth checking out. http://ow.ly/WIi730bXodZ

23.01.2022 Dena Simmons' mother ensured her education gave her a path out of poverty. It didn't change her feeling of not belonging, contributing to her feeling of not being good enough. With scholarships and degrees behind her, she still questioned her right to be heard. That's the imposter syndrome in action. http://ow.ly/MAuH30bRc6P

23.01.2022 I was privileged to interview Geoff McDonald, the Ideas Architect, for his 100th Podcast. Geoff has an impressive record of helping others turn their ideas into products and services that support commercial success. His latest offering is Project Passion where businesses are encouraged to identify and achieve their next big idea. A great use of 53 minutes! http://ow.ly/pqAb30bXkLe

22.01.2022 I'm sure you'd agree. Certainty does not exist in the world around us. After the droughts and fires in Australia when we thought we'd come through ... the pandemic struck. Yet again, our world was tipped upside down. We don't know what it's going to look like when it emerges from isolation. The only certainty lies within us. What inspires us. How we interpret what's going on around us and the space we hold for ourselves and people we care about. Perhaps you don't feel co...nfident in your ability to handle what's going on. If that's the case, check out my blog. https://purposetoprofit.com.au/certainty-is-an-inside-job/

22.01.2022 My good friend Geoff McDonald is running another Project Passion, starting this Friday. His programme draws on his extensive knowledge about business and performance, allowing him to provide guidance, challenge, support and accountability. Most importantly, we get to work on a project that will move our business or career forward. Check it out. http://ow.ly/WIi730bXodZ

21.01.2022 Professor Michelle Simmons Director of Australias Centre for Quantum Computation and Communication Technology at UNSW is recipient of 'For Women In Science' award a joint initiative of L'Oreal and UNESCO. An amazing woman making a significant contribution being recognised. Tick. http://ow.ly/EiiB30aXZgA

21.01.2022 While a full-on experience of the imposter syndrome can be debilitating, Bill Nye says "But ... a milder form of imposter syndrome is not entirely a bad thing." According to Nye, balancing the fear to find the balance is where the answer lies. http://ow.ly/rxBt30dr1NI

20.01.2022 Have you ever doubted yourself? Or perhaps you know someone who has? If so you know how that can get in the way of you delivering a stellar performance. You may be interested in understanding more about how to move beyond limitations that undermine you. Even better, it's free. Check this out. http://ow.ly/SaYn30cjeMO

20.01.2022 I'm minding a teacup Yorkie at the moment. She's an inspiration. So tiny yet she goes after what she really wants. She loves running. She's fast. So she chases the big dogs at the park ... and she keeps up with them. She doesn't care what they think of her. She's so joyful. In the moment. How would it be for us if we could let go of fear and simply go after what we want, unconcerned ab out what others think of us?

20.01.2022 The Imposter Syndrome can strike talented people when they're exposed to a situation that causes them to feel uncertain about themselves. Any of us can experience uncertainty. We live in such uncertain times now. We hear stories of digital disruption of industries and how the winners are those who were flexible and adapted. (think Darwin). There are also some industries or endeavours that create higher levels of uncertainty - where we're more personally vested and therefore ...more vulnerable. I remember that feeling of vulnerability many years ago when I sat at a market with all my leatherwork and stained glass work offered for sale. Every person who picked something up and then walked away without comment and without buying it struck a dagger through my heart, causing me to question the value of what I created. Are you in an industry where your work is put forward for others to scrutinise and judge? How does that feel for you?

19.01.2022 Imposter Syndrome now has millennials in its grip. Recent research suggests 1/3 experience it. The author questions the unprecedented low self-confidence. I certainly see it in my coaching clients and not just the millennials. http://ow.ly/to3b30b9kfI

18.01.2022 For those of us hoping to see the gender balance get there, this is a sobering article. Apparently, most of the increased female director appointments are non-executive directors who get 'seats at tables, not fingers on buttons' http://ow.ly/pjQm30b9gho

18.01.2022 Thanks to Mike Cannon-Brookes from Atlassian, the Imposter syndrome continues to be in the news. Interviewed again last night by ABC. Will post that as soon as I have the link. Here's the original interview from January which ran again on 12 June. http://ow.ly/bfSO30cJ8bT

17.01.2022 I love the tv show Madam Secretary. I watched the latest episode online tonight. I won't spoil the story line. To set the context, excessive killing of black rhino threatened to wipe them out. Team looking for a solution, not just bandaid. Young woman came forward with an idea she'd had 2 years ago. It worked. Madam Secretary to this young woman "A good idea is meaningless without the courage to act. You must speak up." Good advice to all of us.

16.01.2022 Have you ever doubted yourself and missed out on opportunities as a result? Perhaps you've been given an opportunity you didn't feel you were ready for. As a result you may have held back rather than stepped up. For those who experience it, the Imposter Syndrome can be a career or business derailer. I know ... I walked away from a directorship at Australia's largest ad agency because I didn't believe I earned it or could deliver. I now help entrepreneurs, business owners an...d career managers/leaders mostly women to recognise your immense value, build confidence and achieve the career or business you dream of. Then you can see the contribution you're uniquely capable of delivering. Success by Design delivers the work I do face-to-face online with a much more affordable price ticket. Maybe I'll see you online? If the Imposter syndrome is holding you back, I hope so. All the best Suzanne

16.01.2022 AIM. My preso on Imposter Syndrome "Find your Talented Stranger Within" stimulated heaps of nods and robust conversations. Hit home. Terrific evening with AIM Talks on Leadership and great turnout inspite of rain. Great to see the men there! http://ow.ly/2y4n30af0Rt

15.01.2022 The Imposter Syndrome is latent until triggered by external situations that create personal uncertainty. So, it doesn't hit us all the time. Just those times where you're putting yourself forward, outside your comfort zone; the important times that could totally change your career or life. Do you know what I mean? Perhaps you've walked away from stretch roles because you weren't ready (perfect). Maybe you had the opportunity to share an idea and held back because you were c...oncerned others may judge it and reject you. Perhaps you expressed your idea ... and with such timidity that no-one heard. And then someone else may have said the same thing and got accolades. Is the Imposter Syndrome getting in the way of your success?

14.01.2022 Catching up on my Sunday reading. The farmers here don't have that luxury. they're in survival mode. I knew it wasn't good ... I had no idea how horrific it is. https://bit.ly/2LT4tVS. Does anyone know of a central point where we can contribute either money or goods?

10.01.2022 Delighted to find out my interview with ABC Radio National - recorded in January 2017 and re-run in June 2017 - was run again on New Years Day as one of the most popular interviews of 2017. If you missed it, here's the link. http://ow.ly/152q30hzdsd

06.01.2022 Recently interviewed by Gary Bertwistle of Mojo Radio on the Imposter Syndrome. Went out over iHeart Radio. Here's the link if you want to understand what the syndrome is all about and some ways to start moving beyond it. http://ow.ly/2JUM30aqa5C

06.01.2022 Young worker discovers that not all feelings of not being good enough are the imposter syndrome. Stretching ourselves outside our comfort zone naturally leads to feelings of discomfort that subside as we feel more familiar with the new experience. With the Imposter Syndrome, stretching and achieving success are less likely to convert to a foundation of confidence. http://ow.ly/vJ3k30dlw8u

05.01.2022 Purpose delivers results, however, only when embedded at top and middle of organisation. Also requires strong direction from leadership. http://ow.ly/VxOM30b9j0b

05.01.2022 Research shows being in nature or watching nature documentaries increases our feelings of awe, wonder and joy. Also reduces stress, anger. #TheHappinessProject. http://ow.ly/5zHT30agZqL

04.01.2022 Does the Imposter syndrome hold you back. If you'd like to find out, check out the Redback Conferencing e-presentation by me and Melissa Richardson from Art of Mentoring. 12 July. http://ow.ly/mMVF30dlwRm

02.01.2022 At times like these ... we get to think about what's really important to us. Prompted and guided by my friend Geoff McDonald, I wrote up my Purpose Manifesto. I've been working with Purpose for almost 20 years and thought everyone had the same understanding of what Purpose is and the role it plays in business and in our lives. I realise that's not the case. So here's my take on it. https://www.purposetoprofit.com.au/purpose-manifesto/

01.01.2022 I recently recorded a session on Overcoming the Imposter Syndrome for BRiN, the education app designed to help owners of SME's achieve business success. Here's the link to the trailer: http://bit.ly/2l40jer

01.01.2022 On July 14, the world lost a brilliant mathematical mind and a great role model for women in STEM industries. Maryam Mirzakhani won the prestigious Fields Medal in Mathematics - the only woman to do so. Maryam was a trailblazer as well as a mathematical genius. http://ow.ly/WRz130dJPEC
