25.01.2022 Don’t strive for perfection strive for consistency! We don’t always have good days and sometimes we go through periods where we struggle with our training. While I have been running a little bit over the past few months I must say that all of these runs have been a struggle. I certainly haven’t felt my running mojo. I have been doing lots of other training (Functional, HIIT, Strength and even yoga) like I usually do and have enjoyed these sessions more than the running. Then... Saturday night I made up a new running playlist and was keen to listen to it and immerse myself into the tunes while on my run. I also took a different route and it all seemed to come together and I had my best run in a long time. As I always say there are no bad workouts some are great and some are hard and rarely are they perfect but consistency is the key even when you don’t feel great, or your struggling for whatever reason or for no reason whatsoever, but every workout we do helps.

They allow your body to recover from heavier training days and can actually help to remove any soreness you are feeling. They also help to build your base fitness level. Here are some tips/ideas for your recovery days - Reduce your intensity, eg go lighter wth your weights, and shorter distances with your run and bike - Reduce the length of your session.
