21.01.2022 I am lucky these days to have the opportunity to visit many educators and see the clever creative ideas they have set up in their environment. Today I am sharing an idea from Little Adventurers FDC. An easel pulled apart and mounted on a wall at just the right height for the children and it doesn't get pushed around. The children can paint side by side. The legs of the easel didn't get wasted either they were mounted on a brick wall so art work could be displayed on them using staples into the wood.

20.01.2022 What a fantastic use for a coffee pod holder. A ball run. Janene an amazing educator from Wattle Grove picked it up from a garage sale and came up with the idea. See you never know what you can find for minimal cost.

19.01.2022 Easy Sunday project. If you can crochet or knit you can make these simple funky bags for children. Just make a rectangle and fold in half, sew up the sides and make a thin strap. Great for using up left over yarn. Relax and create

15.01.2022 As you may have noticed I have neglected this page in 2017 due to a change in direction. I am no longer an educator instead taking on the role of owning (along with my business partner) a Family Day Care Scheme called Collective FDC which I am loving. I am privileged to be able to visit and support educators across Sydney and I would like to share their amazing services with you. Today I went across to the Sutherland Shire to visit Joanne. Her service is nestled in a peaceful area with a stunning backdrop of timberland. The thoughtful intent of the experiences set up for the children in her care shows so much respect. The children were totally engaged extending their own learning and following their own interests. A truly beautiful service and exceptional Educator.

15.01.2022 I am in Tasmania doing a workshop for Launceston FDC ( wonderful educators) and have timed it well. There is a street festival on and I came across these in the street. Easily made, 2 pallets and fake grass on top. People are using them to sit on and hold their drinks while they watch the band

15.01.2022 Dish racks are at Aldi at the moment for $3.99. They are excellent for displaying a selection of books

13.01.2022 I had the pleasure of visiting Vika's Family Day Care today in Bondi Beach. Vika had created a Montessori inspired sensory spool for the children in her care. T...he children were fascinated and explored the different textures across the table rubbing their fingers tentatively at first but then gaining confidence to use the whole of their hand. Congratulations Vika on knowing the children so well and creating such an inspiring experience. See more

13.01.2022 We are one year old today. I cannot believe how far we have come. I remember the day my business partner suggested we do this and I laughed never thinking it wa...s possible: but anything is possible if you have the desire to make a difference, the drive to overcome obstacles and wonderful people supporting you. I would like to thank one person in particular as if it wasn't for this amazing lady I do not think we would be where we are today, so thankyou Peggy, your dedication to excellence in Early Childhood Education and your experience has helped Collective FDC on its way to succeed and I would be lost without you. Also a huge thankyou to the amazing Educators who took a chance on us and joined our scheme- we value you more than you will ever know. We are a team. And last but not least to the children and their families; you are why we are here. We want you to have lasting happy memories of your childhood where you were loved and valued and gained confidence to be anything you want to be. Bring on the next 12 months- we are ready. See more

12.01.2022 With the sun shining I took a drive up the Blue Mountains this morning and was shown a lovely little shop at Hazelbrook. 'Wild Mountain Child' was filled with gorgeous handmade and Fair Trade items. Elise has an online shop so the gorgeous resources are available to everyone. Pop over and say hi to Elise on her fb page https://www.facebook.com/wildmountainchild/

12.01.2022 The Blacktown drive-in market is packed to capacity with stalls, so many bargains. Come on down and say hello :)
