23.01.2022 Great to see Mosman Council's new installation at Rawson Park is working well!
22.01.2022 We recently worked with Mosman Council to collect and recycle the decommissioned solar system that was on top of the Marie Bashir Sports Centre at Rawson Park. The decision to recycle the system has diverted 1.6 tonnes of solar panels and other waste from landfill! ... #recycling #sustainability See more
21.01.2022 Peter Hannam highlights funding issues for our close friends at UNSW's Australian Centre for Advanced Photovoltaics. They are a world leader in solar technology development and research. "Their research includes treating low quality silicon so it performs better, reducing the pace of cell degradation to extend its life, improving solar and wind forecasting, and boosting waste recycling." #solar #recycling
16.01.2022 We are featured in Electrical Connection magazine’s winter 2020 issue. This article has been a long time in the making and glad to see it online and on paper! #recycling #sustainability #waste
15.01.2022 We were featured in InsideWaste today! Claire Moffat writes: "An Australian start up is aiming to stop solar waste from entering landfill by setting up the first solar panel recycling facility in New South Wales. Waste generated from the solar industry is growing as older systems are reaching their end of life and owners are replacing these with new, more powerful systems."... #solar #sustainability #environment #recycling
12.01.2022 It's important that waste management and sustainability targets are put in place before construction begins for solar projects. Many panels are damaged during transportation and installation! "As our economy emerges from the worst impacts of COVID-19, we need projects ready to go that will create jobs and stimulate spending, especially in regional Queensland," Ms Trad said
10.01.2022 "I thought solar panels last 25 years?" You asked and we listened! We've put together a detailed article on why solar panels reach their end of life, and provided answers to other common questions like "why can't solar panels be reused?" Read about it here ... https://www.pvindustries.com.au//how-long-do-solar-panels/
06.01.2022 How very creative! Lots of new installations going in (not really) like this 100kW system on Woolworth's Orange.
04.01.2022 Great news today with the announcement of waste export bans and a stimulus scheme supporting recycling and creating new jobs! SMH's Mike Foley writes, "Up to 10,000 new jobs are expected to be generated through a $600 million waste recycling stimulus scheme from government and industry."... "The coronavirus delayed the roll out of the waste export bans bans. Glass exports will now be prohibited from January 1 next year, whole new tyres will be banned by December 1 next year, unprocessed single resin/polymer plastics will be banned from July 1, 2022, and finally, export of mixed and unsorted paper and cardboard will be banned from July 1, 2024." #recycling #solar #waste
04.01.2022 HUGE RENEWABLE ENERGY INVESTMENT BOOM! - $38 Billion (the value of registered projects) - 3 gigawatts worth of power (roughly 1.3 million homes) - 450 constr...uction jobs in regional NSW Doesn't matter which way you look at it, today's announcement regarding the NSW Central West 'Renewable Energy Zone' by Matt Kean MP and Deputy Premier John Barilaro, demonstrates the enormous private capital appetite for renewable projects and the long term economic benefits they will bring to regional NSW. Facts: - The Central-West Orana REZ, the first of the State’s three Renewable Energy Zones, will be the modern-day equivalent of a traditional power station, capable of powering 1.3 million homes. - The NSW Coalition Government plans to deliver three Renewable Energy Zones (REZ) in the State’s Central-West, New England and South-West regions. The zones are expected to deliver multiple benefits for NSW, including: - improving electricity reliability by delivering significant amounts of new energy supply - increasing affordability by reducing wholesale electricity costs - supporting emissions reduction by delivering reductions in the electricity sector You can read more here: https://energy.nsw.gov.au/renewables/renewable-energy-zones
01.01.2022 Merrylands Fire and Rescue Station called out to solar system fire! We recently published a FAQ article on our website regarding Australian Standards and how they are designed to improve safety for design and installation (and decrease the risk of fire which is a common problem in electrical isolator switches!). If in doubt, it is best to get your solar system checked by a reputable, accredited installer for safety and compliance. The link to the article is in the comments below!
