10.01.2022 An Internet of Things: Proposal for now and the near future #ADAM2020 #onlineperformanceproject 12-16 August #opennowforsignup The global COVID-19 pandemic, alo...ngside Chinas new national security law in Hong Kong and #blacklivesmatter initiated from the U.S.A. among others, have accelerated veering the way things go: go on, go online, go off, go backwards and go away. Where ADAM would go is to pause and recall that this initiative is born to propose reflections on the industrial realm and ecology of contemporary art and performance. And the current crisis of art and society has nevertheless given us an opportunity to slow down and ponder what art and artists can do while confronting the value of liveness, togetherness and social engagement. Titled An Internet of Things, ADAM 2020 looks at the concurrence of the physical and virtual co-presence, and the juggling process of intersectional practices. It therefore explores, questions and performs the cyberculture, networked city, and cultural and ecologic politics between the digital and human interfaces in art and everyday contexts, by addressing critical questions including: 1/ How has the entangled and porous performativity between living bodies, live-stream settings and viewers, in the context of performing for and with the (web-)camera, shaped the spectatorship? 2/ How do digital tools and platforms in the network topology have shifted and suggested methods and viewpoints of artistic research, advocations, and productions? 3/ What does the ideas of sociality, socializing and community mean in the social-media culture and cyber spectacle? 4/ What can we learn from the human and ecologic crisis caused by the pandemic and what if there is no back-to-normal to run the (art) world? How would we rehearse an alternative and sustainable ecology of the future? --- Participating artists Norhaizad Adam, JKi Anicoche, SowYee Au, Melinda M. Babaran, Martinka Bobrikova & Oscar de Carmen, Joel Bray, Bunny Cadag, Enzo Camacho, Enoch Cheng, Yves Chiu, Green Citizens Action Alliance, Mish Grigor, Tada Hengsapkul , Hyphenated Projects (Nikki Lam & Phuong Ngo), Ila Ila, Ip Wai Lung, Brigitta Isabella, Takao Kawaguchi, Daniel Kok Diskodanny , Tsung Hsuan Lee, Russ Ligtas, Yen-Ching Lin, Yuju Lin, Yi-chun Liu , Cassie Lynch, Michikazu Matsune, Venuri Perera, pvi collective (Steve Bull & Kelli McCluskey), Riar Rizaldi, Chiharu Shinoda, Wenchi Su, Hsiao-Tzu Tien, Natasha Tontey, Sima Ting Kuan WU, Xiao Ke X Zhou Zihan, Scarlet Yu.
