24.01.2022 Were proud to #wearitpurple in our offices, kitchens, lounge rooms and local parks today. Wear It Purple was created to foster safe, supportive, empowering and inclusive environments for LGBTQI young people. All of us deserve and have a right to access safe spaces and be ourselves. Thats why today, on Wear It Purples 10th anniversary, we stand with rainbow youth and call for a stop to all LGBTI based bullying and harassment. We must act with integrity, call it out and pr...ovide care and support to the victim. Together, we can make a difference. Photo from a more precedented time at WA Pride.

21.01.2022 Our Responsible AI (RAI) team has had another huge win, this time at Virtual CogX - one of the worlds largest gatherings in the AI and emerging tech space. Special congratulations go out to local leaders Flavio Palaci and Prof. Matt Kuperholz for their leadership in this global program. The judges called out our sophisticated solution for monitoring and governing the performance of AI that is realistic, usable and produces actionable results. 21.01.2022 Erin Woolford, a Kuyani-Arrernte woman, has always been an advocate for social justice and equality. Leading our Reconciliation Program, Erin is currently implementing strategies to ensure the community is supported at this critical time. First Nations peoples are particularly vulnerable to the impacts of COVID-19, with chronic health issues, limited access to health care and many Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people often living in overcrowded or unsuitable housing.... The restrictions are also keeping families apart which is exacerbating the poor health and wellbeing of communities. Were looking at a range of ways to holistically support First Nations businesses - like helping them transition to new or virtual offerings, provide coaching to diversify their businesses, business continuity planning and identifying opportunities for growth. Its all about being able to meaningfully engage with First Nations stakeholders on issues of importance to their families and communities. The theme In This Together is a reminder that whether in a crisis or in reconciliation, the most important problems are best solved together. COVID-19 is no doubt one of the greatest challenges facing our communities, but if I could be anywhere right now, Im glad I work for PwC.

21.01.2022 Theres no denying that 2020 has been a tough year for all of us. Weve dealt with new challenges and taken on new roles. Dealing with all this change has been made harder by the fact that many of us are having less face-to-face contact with our colleagues and friends. As a firm, were working to make well-being less of a corporate initiative and more of a cultural norm. Were marking R U OK? Day with a morning mindfulness session and a firmwide panel in the afternoon, where ...were talking through the key steps in having an R U OK? Conversation. This week, make some time to catch up with the people in your team and your life, and ask them R U OK? Find more info on having the conversation at https://pwc.to/2ZiBgse

20.01.2022 Workplace mental health begins with encouraging an open culture. As part of our Green Light to Talk program, Caesar La Rosa is helping to open up the conversation and provide confidential support to our people. Caesar is one of 200 advocates whove been trained in mental health first aid and domestic and family violence support. They play a crucial role in providing guidance, understanding and a safe space to talk. It has been great to see the culture of the firm evolve. The...re is no sense of harden up or just deal with it and we are all here to support each other. Completing the mental health first aid training to become a GLTT advocate was incredibly eye opening. It was confronting to think about what is taking place in society and I was especially humbled to learn about the many issues related to mental health. I try to think about how I can use what Ive learnt to support people facing a variety of challenges and the different dynamics of pressures in the workplace and home environments. I find it incredibly rewarding helping people navigate lifes challenges and frustrations and come out the other side. Caesar La Rosa, Business Engagement Leader, DigiTech

19.01.2022 When COVID-19 first hit Australia, one of the biggest problems facing the supermarket industry was managing supply due to an increased demand from consumers. As a part of our crisis management team, Geoffrey Abdallah worked directly with supermarkets to help them navigate through the major challenges of supply chain and transport limitations. We worked with suppliers, logistics teams, buyers and warehousing staff to understand their unique challenges in a very short space ...of time and address the gaps in the system to help improve supply for the community. Tech has played a key role in helping mitigate risks and forecast accurately. We created responsive reporting to track supply issues and daily forecasts to address changing capacities with regards to production and shipping. Three months down the line, its reassuring to see shelves well stocked again, and to know that our work helped make life that little bit easier for people. - Geoffrey Abdallah, Senior Associate, Management Consulting

16.01.2022 The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), outline a global blueprint for peace, prosperity, people and our planet. Did you know we have a team from across the firm who are mapping our business against the SDGs? "Designing an approach ... that was simple, clear, robust, defendable and digestible ... was challenging but also very rewarding. said Daniella Dickson, director in Health Consulting and co-leader of the project with Social Impact. We asked what motiv...ated Daniella to get involved: I want to be involved in important and meaningful projects that impact both our organisation and society. There couldnt have been a better project than considering a global set of goals endorsed by the United Nations! Our internal working group formed quickly and the passion was obvious from the outset. We named ourselves Team Save the World and we set out to do just that! It was a pleasure getting to know the SDGs and Social Impact team and working with a diverse set of people across the firm. Experiencing the passion, enthusiasm and commitment of the team was a personal highlight." See more

16.01.2022 Calling all law students: Our campus recruiter Cristina has some important news to share!

15.01.2022 The past few months have been challenging for all of us, but more so for the elderly. Unable to maintain close proximity with loved ones or easily communicate with healthcare staff, isolation continues to have a significant impact on the vulnerable. Alex Denison is working together with government agencies and the healthcare industry to enhance patient experience and help aged care residents stay better connected during COVID-19. Weve created tools and new communication ch...annels to help aged care residents easily connect with their families and care teams, allowing for a more seamless interaction between employees, citizens and staff. This has ensured people are kept better informed at a time when physical connectivity remains low. One of our key priorities is to help our clients effectively identify and manage risks such as community transmission, redirection of resources and supporting people and services in rural and remote areas. Over the last few months weve been working with our alliance partners such as Salesforce to support the health industry in delivering critical services faster and on a much wider scale. This means being able to fast track staff training and successfully mobilise teams where needed. - Alex Denison, Director, Health Technology Consulting

15.01.2022 Each of us has a role in achieving reconciliation in Australia. As #NRW2020 draws to a close, Erin Woolford shares how discrimination, inequality and racism fuelled her passion to create societal change to empower First Nations peoples to thrive, now and in the future. #TogetherWeSolve #InThisTogether.

12.01.2022 Sharon Chan joined the army and PwC around the same time three years ago. Currently deployed under Operation COVID-19 Assist as an Army Reservist with the Department of Defence, she has seamlessly leveraged her experience at PwC to help control the spread of the coronavirus. I work at the headquarters which coordinates defence support in NSW to civilian agencies, including quarantine assistance for the reception and repatriation of international travellers, amongst other pri...orities. Being an officer challenges me mentally and supplements my growth, and Im really lucky both organisations I work for are so trusting and supportive. Flexibility and inclusion are core to the care Ive received at PwC. The support from my team means I can juggle two jobs even across a 7-day week on many occasions since the pandemic. Our tech is set up for remote working and our 20-days paid defence leave policy provided the much-needed support for my national service. Despite the dual roles, Im able to confidently bring my whole self to work. Ive honed my skills which are transferable across industries, particularly stakeholder relations and project management which are primarily strengthened through all the client work Ive been doing here at PwC. Sharon Chan, Relationship Manager, Global Mobility
