18.01.2022 I love our panicked country A land of empty shelves Where everyone is hunting For toilet paper elves... The Pasta aisle is empty The Oats and wheat Bix gone What has happened to this country? When knives come out forlorn We are the lucky country Or so they used to say, But when Aussie takes on Aussie Over dunny paper, who will pay? The Virus has us running For Hand sanitiser and masks But what about the Aussie way Looking out for each other I ask? Bring back my Aussie Homeland Where when in fire or in flood We stand by one another We fight hand and hand in mud Stop heading to the shops And buying everything in sight Remember you’re an Aussie And keep your community tight Check on all your neighbours Hand out the toilet rolls Put some snags out on the barby And block out the panic trolls. 12.01.2022 Volunteers at the #Pyalong CFA are out of space and they have no toilets, making it hard for the brigade to recruit new members. For the past 15 years, they’ve ...been told they’re in the queue for a new shed but red tape and bureaucracy keep stifling action. It’s time the government looked after the volunteers who look after us. See more

10.01.2022 MASKS ON FARMS From 11:59pm on Sunday face masks will become mandatory for all Victorians when out of their homes. Premier Daniel Andrews has this afternoon ...clarified when masks need to be worn for those who live on farms. The premier called for a common-sense approach, and gave a number of situational examples of when a mask is required. Essentially: If you’re working alone on your farm and not coming into contact with other people, a mask IS NOT needed. If you’re working on your farm with people who live in the same house as you, a mask IS NOT needed. If you’re working on your farm alongside people who do not live in the same house as you, a mask IS REQUIRED. If it’s a family farm and you and members of your household, then common sense tells you that you don’t need to wear a mask, Mr Andrews said. But once you go past the front gate and go into town you would (need to wear a mask). If you’ve got staff or if you’ve got people coming to your property to make deliveries or to collect livestock for instance or if you have staff coming onto your property logic just says put your mask on because that person is not part of your household. Even though the farm is your home, that’s then a workplace. Full details on the Rural Report from 6.15am tomorrow.
