18.01.2022 Hi Everyone, With regards to the club's ongoing response to COVID-19, please read the letter from our President Ross Wheatley. It critically covers lodge closure, current and future bookings as well as the work party amongst other issues.... https://eloueraskiclub.asn.au//arc/2020-03-18_COVID-19.pdf
17.01.2022 Dear Club Members and Guests, The extremely dangerous weather conditions in the high country have eased for the time being, however multiple fires are still burning out of control. Understandably, the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service and the NSW Rural Fire Service have extended the closure of the Kosciuszko National Park. For all who did not receive our last notice, the Pygmy Possum Lodge was closed on the 1st January after consultation with NSW National Parks and Wild...life Service, and Charlotte Pass Snow Resort. The entire Kosciuszko National Park was closed and evacuated shortly thereafter. At this stage, the club wishes to notify members and guests that the Pygmy Possum Lodge will now remain closed until the 13th January at the earliest. Given the enormity of the ongoing fire danger and response in NSW and Victoria, it is likely that the closure of the Kosciuszko National Park will again be extended. Members and guests who have bookings impacted by this closure will continue to be contacted directly. We would also like to take the opportunity to pass on our condolences to Kevin and the rest of the team at Blyton Group for the losses at Selwyn Snow Resort in the fires over the weekend. The Blyton Group are the operators of the Charlotte Pass Ski Resort. 16.01.2022 We are proud to have been officially registered as a COVID Safe business with the NSW Government. Enormous respect to volunteer board members John Rodger, Paul Greenfield, Jon Barber, Judy Jenkinson, Michael Quinnell and Richard Mason for producing such a detailed safety plan. This plan ensures many of our members and guests are still able to holiday locally at our lodge this year, and enjoy the snow together.... To see how we are following government health guidelines at the lodge, and how you can help, please find more detail on our website here: https://eloueraskiclub.asn.au/lod/PygmyPossum/COVID-19Safe/
10.01.2022 UPDATE: NSW National Parks & Wildlife Service has advised that parts of the Kosciuszko National Park have now been reopened to the public. Please see the linked notice below to see which areas. Note that much of the backcountry regions remain restricted. https://eloueraskiclub.asn.au/newslett//2020_Jan21_RFS.pdf... The board is continuing to assess the situation, including ensuring access to critical services in the village have been restored and are operating nominally. The Pygmy Possum Lodge remains closed and will be reopened once all relevant stakeholders have agreed it is safe to do so.

03.01.2022 To everyone's great relief, the beautiful Charlotte Pass has so far been spared the fires this season. After receiving advice from NSW National Parks & Wildlife Service and Charlotte Pass Ski Resort, from this Sunday, the 26th Jan, Pygmy Possum Lodge will be back in operation! We are of course monitoring the ongoing fire danger, and will update you all if the situation changes. If you're lucky enough to be heading up to the high country, you will be happy to know that most tr...acks around the Charlotte Pass area have been opened for day use now, including the Main Range walk. However, there is still a safety risk in the Park, some tracks may still be closed, and other restrictions in place. Please do check with NSW Fires Near Me and the NPWS's alerts list (this includes the track closures) for the latest info: https://www.nationalparks.nsw.gov.au//koscius/local-alerts Due to the cancellation of building and maintenance works at the lodge between 16th Feb and the 1st March, we now have plenty of availability! To make a booking, head on over to our club website.

02.01.2022 PYGMY POSSUM WORKING PARTY The smooth operation of Pygmy Possum depends on the dedicated members and friends who attend the bi-annual working parties - one in October and another prior to the winter season. Tasks include building maintenance and repair, stocktaking and stocking of food store, kitchen and housekeeping tasks. The next working party will be between the 29/3/2020 and 5/4/2020 (Sunday to Sunday). If you would love to escape the rat race and spend some time in the... Snowy Mountains attending the work party, please email Peter Hill [email protected] or call on 0408 125 752 indicating: 1. How many days you could attend 2. What skill set you may have etc Please note numbers are limited for each working bee.
01.01.2022 Due to the current fire danger in Kosciuszko National Park, the Pygmy Possum Lodge has been temporarily closed to members and guests for the safety of everyone involved. This decision has been made after consultation with both the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service, and Charlotte Pass Snow Resort. The Bureau of Meteorology is expecting the dangerous weather conditions to ease in the high country this coming Sunday/Monday, at which point the reopening of the Lodge will be... considered. All members and guests with impacted bookings will be contacted directly. Please monitor your emails.
