25.01.2022 We are pretty stoked to have Pymble House featured in this month's Sydney Observer magazine. A few weeks ago, we were lucky enough to have 2 beautiful paintings of the house donated to us. Thank you to the artists from Ku ring gai Art Society. If you pick up a copy of the Sydney Observer this month (with Grant Denyer on the cover) be sure to flick straight to page page 23.
25.01.2022 #throwbackthursday The woodwork on Pymble House was done by William Henry Pymble (grandson of Robert Pymble I) with all local timber. William Henry Pymble was a builder by trade, but he was also a gifted watch maker and musician. ... William and his wife Emily (nee McIntosh) also lived in Merrivale Road, opposite Nithdale Street.

Pymble Playgroup has just released some extra Spots in our Sessions (Covid safe), weekly Spots are filling up quickly with a few Sessions already full. 17.01.2022 Today, we had the pleasure of revealing two stunning paintings of Pymble House by local artists. Pymble House, which has been a dedicated Playgroup for almost 50 years, has a long history with the Ku-ring-gai Art Society. The late Janine Bravery OAM was the president of the Ku-ring-gai Art Society, as well as an art teacher and renowned artist. She painted a watercolour of Pymble House during or before 1977. This special artwork hangs in a customised display cabinet in pri...de of place in the house. Nina Paine and Caroline Oesterheld, two local artists and members of the Ku ring gai Art Society presented their own paintings of Pymble House today in a small unveiling ceremony. Everyone who attended was amazed by the beautiful detail in the artworks, and the kids enjoyed seeing their Playgroup in the paintings. The donated paintings will be framed and hung at Pymble Playgroup. 09.01.2022 COVID-19 Update Effective 1 March 2020 the Federal Government has issued a travel ban on foreigners coming to Australia from Iran. Only Australian citizens and permanent residents coming from Iran will be allowed entry to Australia and from 1 March they are required to self-isolate for a period of 14 days after departing Iran consistent with the restrictions for those entering from China. Additionally, Australians have been advised NOT to travel to Iran. The updated advice fr...om the NSW Government: Any member who has been in, or transited through, mainland China (not just Hubei province) or has been in Iran is excluded from work, school or child care services (including playgroup) for 14 days from the date they left mainland China or Iran (as the COVID-19 incubation period can be as long as two weeks). Any confirmed case of COVID-19 will be excluded until they are medically cleared to return. Close contacts of a confirmed case of COVID-19 will be excluded for 14 days since last contact with the confirmed case. Members who have returned to Australia from mainland China or Iran more than 14 days ago and have shown no symptoms are able to return. The NSW Ministry of Health has processes to identify any close contacts of cases confirmed in Australia. Advice about not attending would be provided to these close contacts by the NSW Ministry of Health.
08.01.2022 We’re delighted to be giving our Playgroup children the chance to take part in an Australian childhood tradition. Turn your child’s art into useful objects that look fantastic and last for years. They’re fun to make, fun to use and made in Australia. Create pictures at home using paints, pens or photos the brighter the better. We’ll be handing out drawing templates this week. If you would like to get involved with our fundraiser missed out on picking up a template please email us.

06.01.2022 Pymble Playgroup will be reopening from Monday 3rd August. Many families have been counting down the days until playgroup can reopen, children can once again swing from the monkey bars and socialise with their friends. Being outside and playing is great for children's mental and physical health and we are looking forward to welcoming back families to re-establish those close connections, albeit from a social distance. Spaces are limited due to government restrictions, no mor...e than 20 people are allowed to gather at Playgroup, this includes adults and children. In saying that we are aware some sessions may have more people than the allocated max numbers. In order to secure your session spot you would need to ensure your Free NSW membership is up to date and advise of your preferred session when you pay your Pymble Playgroup fees and we will do our best to accommodate you. Playgroup will not always have these restrictions but in the meantime we have taken measures to align ourselves with the guidelines set by Playgroup NSW and are consistently monitoring the advice from state and federal authorities and following the all required and preventative measures stipulated to prevent the spread of COVID 19. Thank you again for your support and patience, we have missed our lovely members. Please email [email protected] for more information on joining.

04.01.2022 An update from Playgroup NSW: ‘Dear Playgroup NSW community, With the NSW Government restrictions having changed on 1 June 2020, we would like to provide an update on Playgroup NSW’s progress related to returning to face to face Playgroup. ... While the restrictions have been relaxed, these do not apply to playgroups just yet. We acknowledge there have been a number of questions about returning face to face and we share your excitement to get back to playgroup. Our key priority is ensuring that all of our children and families can return as safely as possible and that we have a plan to address hygiene requirements and venue considerations. We are working rapidly on a Return to Playgroup plan that caters to supported playgroups and community playgroups, and look forward to sharing more on this with you shortly. In the meantime, our digital delivery of playgroups is going well, and we encourage you to reach out if you have not yet had access to participate in a digital playgroup. The Playgroup NSW Leadership Team continues to meet weekly and we encourage you to join us at Playgroup at Home https://www.facebook.com/groups/playgroupathomensw/ and/or to email [email protected]. Kind Regards, Mel Hill General Manager Programs & Quality’
