24.01.2022 On Tuesday 15th Nov we conducted a Diabetes Screening Day. Over 80 people were tested by our pharmacists. We are still able to complete these risk assessments so please pop into the store and ask our team about your risk factors

22.01.2022 Pyrmont Pharmacy Update Thank you everyone for their respect and kind words when coming into the pharmacy. As the catchlines says we are coming to work, so you can stay at home I have just a couple of updates for everyone 1. Armaforce & Immune Defence (generic) back in stock. A few people have been trying to get some of this and I am glad to say we have received a good order so should be able to fill a lot of requests. For those who dont know the product I will quote from ...the Biocuticals ArmaForce is a comprehensive formula combining the herbal and nutritional ingredients andrographis, echinacea, olive leaf, vitamin C and zinc. It is scientifically formulated to provide relief of symptoms of mild upper respiratory tract infections and decrease the severity and duration of colds. ArmaForce supplies nutritional support for healthy immune function. Please note there is no specific indication for use in Covid19 however I personally find it is a good supplement that you can take preventatively and has some good evidence behind its use https://www.bioceuticals.com.au/mobile/preview/ArmaForce 2. Dont come in if sick- Again we ask if you are sick from any symptoms of cold flu or potentially covid you DO NOT COME into the pharmacy. We can take consults over the phone and organise for deliveries to be made which mean you dont have to leave the house. We are trying everything to keep our staff healthy so we are not forced to closed which may impact not just the staff but all of Pyrmont 3. If the shop if full wait outside- If you are coming to the pharmacy and there appear to be multiple people in the shop please wait outside and be patient. Most customers can leave our store quickly and you will not get served any quicker by standing inside the door. You will however reduce your social distancing if you crowd inside. 4. So far, our prescription stock levels are doing very well, We are working through a couple of specific cases but all others are going well. Please be advised that it is generally indicated to get another script about 7-10 days before you run out. Try not to come in early if needed and remember our delivery service is available if you are at home 5. 16.01.2022 Hey team, I recently found out a good mate of mine was diagnosed with Diabetes. This came as a complete shock to me and my mate as he exercised regularly, ate h...ealthy food and essentially took great care of himself. It certainly hit me hard and I started to think about myself and wondered if I was at all vulnerable. My first thought was of course there is no way I could be a diabetic but then how did I know that was the case and what was I basing that assumption on? So with that thought in mind I checked myself into Pyrmont Pharmacy last week and did the simple diabetics check within the Pharmcay. It took no longer than 10 minutes and Im pleased to confirm that I registered a low risk score of developing diabetes. While I wasnt completely shocked by this result, peace of mind is an amazing thing and I would recommend anyone who is unsure of their blood sugar levels to make contact with their local health professional and check. 15.01.2022 Tomorrow, Tuesday 7th May, Pyrmont Pharmacy will recognising World Asthma Day by conducting Lung Function Tests (FEV1) & Inhalation device assessments (in-check-dial). In the retail area of U60 (outside our shop) from 9am-3pm we will be doing the Able 5 mintue Asthma check which will be free for everyone If you want to see if your lungs have enough puff or if you are already using an inhalation device and want us to check if you are getting the right dose we can help you out.... 07.01.2022 At our Christmas in Pyrmont event last Sunday, we identified 2 patients who had a high risk for diabetes and 3 patients with high blood pressure which was previously unbeknownst to them. These patients are now able to get further testing to ensure that any underlying disease can be appropriately treated. We conduct these tests regularly at the pharmacy so if you are concerned about any underlying risks, please come in and chat to our pharmacists!
