21.01.2022 Gardens are looking good at the moment. Lots of growth in the past 2 weeks.

21.01.2022 Still a few to go, but got to love a bunch of fluff balls.

18.01.2022 Well this is unexpected! The first batch of eggs in my new barotto incubator went in to lockdown last night. Today is day 15 of 17 and already have sever eggs that have pipped and are part way through hatching. My previous hatches in the much cheaper janoel incubator were all late hatches at day 21 of 17. ... Keen to see how this plays out.

11.01.2022 We now have fertile Quail eggs for sale. Please note these eggs are sold for the purpose of hatching your own Quail in an incubator, they are not intended for human consumption. It is prohibited by law to sell any egg intended for human consumption without being registered with both Biosecurity QLD and Safe food production QLD, neither of these steps which have been taken by us at this time. It is our intention that this will change in the future however, we are unsure as to when this will happen. We also will soon be selling live birds, again as we are not registered at this time with food safe production QLD we are unable to knowingly sell any bird for human consumption at this time. Please contact for more details if you wish to purchase any eggs or live birds.

03.01.2022 61 eggs just entered lockdown. Had a higher number of infertile eggs this time around. Potentially some of the eggs from female birds housed away from males got in to the mix or the males were too young, or perhaps fertility is low due to it being winter. All these factors play apart in fertility rates. Anyway not bad odds from the 78 initially put down. Hatch day is due to start from 7pm Thursday night.

02.01.2022 Currently no live birds left. Just sold 15 babies and now have an order for 30 more for pick up tomorrow. Still have eggs for sale. More baby birds ready in 2 to 3 weeks.

02.01.2022 Here are some pictures to show what i am looking for when i candle the eggs. Clear eggs are infertile. There is one egg which has veins however is no longer a viable egg. It is only partially developed and the black mass to one side with the dark ring around the egg suggests this egg was fertile but for what wver reason died inside the egg half way through incubation. Quail have a fatal gene which unlike in chickens prevents the embryo fully forming therefore it will never hatch. Where as a chicken will hatch then die. The final picture is a fertile viable egg. In person you can actually see the heart beat and the bird breathing inside the egg.
