25.01.2022 We know staying at home can be tough so weve put together a care package to make this time a little more comfortable. Send one to a friend, family member, or even yourself, relax in our Business Class pyjamas with a cup of tea, choccy biccy and some other goodies. We may not be able to take to the skies right now, but there are better days ahead. Shop the Qantas Care Pack on the Qantas Store: https://bit.ly/qfcarepack
25.01.2022 Our Qantas team across the globe have been saying farewell (for now) to our international flights from Los Angeles, New York, Hong Kong and Santiago. And our Sydney crew marked our last international flight into the city for a while with a harbour flyover. We are still operating international freight services to move vital goods to and from Australia as well as some domestic and regional routes for essential travel only. Thanks to everyone who has been sharing the Qantas Spir...it and thank you to our customers for your kindness, patience and understanding. Were all looking forward to flying with you again soon.
24.01.2022 The first Qantas 747 took off from Brisbane 49 years ago and the last will take to Brisbanes skies today for our 747 farewell joy flight. Around 10.15am well take-off to the south passing west of the CBD, flying over the Brisbane River and tracking out towards The Gabba, then heading back to pass over the northern suburbs and flying south towards South Stradbroke Island to skim along the Gold Coast, passing Broadbeach. Shell loop back around Kingscliff to return north along the coast and up to Bribie Island before returning back to Brisbane Airport from the north to touch down around 11.30am.#747farewell
24.01.2022 Thanks Captain Brett Newsham and the whole Qantas crew (in the air and on the ground) for helping bring our Aussies back home. Captain Newsham shared his thoughts from 36,000 feet over the Pacific Ocean, on this special flight QF 7028 from Lima (Peru) to Australia. This flight had a range of extra cabin safety measures in place for crew and passengers.
23.01.2022 Thank you to our wonderful partners Australian Girls Choir and Gondwana National Choirs for keeping our spirits up. They havent been able to practice together for a while but recorded this from their lounge rooms and backyards. We cant wait to be welcoming you onboard again soon, and to take you to every corner of our beautiful country: to explore, for holidays and to see family, friends and loved ones who youve missed over the past few months. A big thank you to all the Mums this Mothers Day weekend, including our Cabin Crew member, Antoinette who features in this video with her daughter Zahra.
22.01.2022 As the national carrier, were pleased to help form part of the minimum domestic and regional network supported by the Australian Government. We will operate flights to every capital city and 36 regional ports across the country. This means theres more planes in the sky and communities can stay connected. Were also using the bellyspace on our aircraft to move critical freight around the country. This is in addition to maintaining flights to places like Hong Kong, London ...and Los Angeles to help get Australians home. A big thank you to all our staff in the air and on the ground for making these flights possible. Read more here https://bit.ly/2RK8WeO
22.01.2022 Today the very last Qantas 747 will take off on her final passenger flight, soaring over the nations capital for the last farewell joy flight from Canberra. Shell take to the skies around 12pm, heading north and then to the west to take in the sites of the Snowy Mountains, passing over Tumut, Talbingo, Kiandra, Mount Kosciuszko, Jindabyne and Cooma before approaching Canberra from the south to pass Woden and fly over Parliament House, down Anzac Parade, over the War Memorial and towards Mount Ainsley. She will then fly down the length of Lake Burley Griffin and loop back for one final stretch down the lake to give everyone stationed shore-side a second look, before returning to the airport around 1.15pm. #747farewell
21.01.2022 You may have heard of Paul McGinness and Hudson Fysh, the two World War One veterans who founded Qantas 100 years ago, but there are many more remarkable people who have made us who we are today. Here are just a few of them...

16.01.2022 92 years ago tomorrow, the Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia was founded. Qantas has a proud history with the RFDS - from the services first flight in 1928 to today, with some Qantas Group employees working with the service during the COVID-19 pandemic. Qantas supplied the first aircraft to the organisation in May 1928, VH-UER a De Havilland DH.50, known as Victory. ... The first official flight took off from a base at Cloncurry on the 17th May, with Qantas flying doctor pilot, Arthur Affleck, and Dr K St Vincent Welch travelling to Julia Creek in Central Queensland. In that first year, the Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia flew 225 patients.

15.01.2022 Some of our Frequent Flyers have been posting their efforts to recreate their favourite meals from inflight and lounges. We thought we would make it easier by getting Qantas chef Neil Perry to give a step-by-step guide for some of our most popular dishes. First stop is Asia for a tasty crab omelette from the First Lounge menu. Its all in the sizzle apparently.
13.01.2022 Qantas 787 pilot Nick Thorne is part of the team operating a rescue flight today to bring home 180 Australians and New Zealanders who have been stuck in Buenos Aires due to the Coronavirus situation. It is 80 years since his late grandfather, Keith Walter Thorne, was there during World War II as a Lieutenant in the Australian Navy. Nick said, Im very proud to be playing my part to bring fellow Aussies and Kiwi neighbours home during this pandemic on what is a special day for both countries. Its also special for me to go to a place where my grandfather spent time during the Second World War. Ill have his photo with me so we can spend ANZAC Day together.
