20.01.2022 It's International Allied Health Professionals Day so we thought we would ask one of our clients, Noelle (Noel) about attending the 'Eating for 1 - Lunch Munch'... group run by three of our Transitional Aged Care Program allied health therapists in the Bega Valley. It's fair to say she is a big fan but did have one request we were unable to fill when filming her interview (watch right to the end to see). Allied Health Professionals make up over 20 different professions across the health sector. All are university trained in specific disciplines, to provide essential care for people of all ages including children, older people, people with chronic illnesses or mental ill-health, and those experiencing disability. This includes dietitians, exercise physiologists, occupational therapists, physios, pharmacists, psychologists, podiatrists and social workers. Thank you to our dedicated SNSWLHD Allied Health Professionals. Please feel free to share this post on your timeline and give some love to our Allied Health Professionals. #alliedhealthprofessionalsday #allied4areason #strongertogether #proudtobeAH #SNSWLHD #NSWHEALTH

11.01.2022 We’ve removed the need for scheduled appointments across many of our COVID-19 testing sites. These sites include Goulburn Base Hospital, Queanbeyan District Ho...spital, Eurobodalla Health Service (Moruya), South East Regional Hospital, Cooma District Hospital, Jindabyne Clinic and Yass District Hospital. Also included are the ‘Pop-up’ clinics at Malua Bay, Hanging Rock, Merimbula and Crookwell. Callers to the 1800 999 880 COVID line will be provided with information on testing eligibility and clinic times and locations. https://www.snswlhd.health.nsw.gov.au//covid-19-testing-en This information is also available at www.snswlhd.health.nsw.gov.au A number of our smaller COVID testing sites will still be by appointment only (Pambula Hospital, Bombala MPS, Perisher and Thredbo). You can now register your details for testing over the phone before heading to a site clinic. You’ll also be given an option to speak with a Registered Nurse or health care worker if you’re unwell, need more information, or have specific needs that requires a scheduled appointment for a COVID-19 test. A reminder if you are very unwell to contact triple zero. Instead of waiting for a call back from the COVID line, you can now attend your closest testing clinic. Remember, the local team will need to register you at the testing clinic when you arrive if you haven’t done so over the phone, so make sure you have your Medicare card and GP contact information with you.

10.01.2022 VISITING TO HOSPITALS HAS CHANGED - WE ASK FOR YOUR PATIENCE In order to protect patients, staff and carers against the spread of COVID-19, we have taken steps... to restrict visitor numbers to its facilities. In the Eurobodalla, visitors to both Batemans Bay and Moruya District Hospitals will not be permitted until further notice, unless under exceptional circumstances in consultation with the General Manager of the facility. Meanwhile the District will be encouraging the use of mobile and digital technology by patients to maintain contact with loved ones. In other District health facilities, only one visitor at a time for no more than 30 minutes will be permitted, and a maximum of two visitors per day per person will be allowed until further notice. Meanwhile mental health facilities are restricted to no visitors, with each location providing extensive video contact for family members and carers. The steps are necessary in order to protect against the potential spread of COVID-19, and we appreciate the patience and understanding of the community during this time.

04.01.2022 To the broader Queanbeyan community THANK YOU from our team at the Queanbeyan COVID testing clinic. With an increase number of tests being undertaken, everyone who has attended has been kind and had a positive attitude. WE APPRECIATE YOUR KINDNESS
