25.01.2022 Words of wisdom. Computers are similar genetically to printers, who can also sense fear....

25.01.2022 This is a great bit of information relating to how technology has enabled one of our clients, a leading law firm, to have their staff, including their receptionist, working from home. Big Law recently implemented our 3CX cloud based phone system, which allows this type of functionality. Used with Office 365, as well as a secure Remote Desktop Gateway, it's almost business as usual. There are many businesses still unsure about how to utilise this technology. It doesn't need to be difficult. We're happy to answer any questions on implementing these types of solutions.

22.01.2022 We had quite a few of these emails through our filters and customer systems today. It looks very legitimate and you could easily mistake it for a genuine email. There aren't even spelling mistakes in it!! The From address is obviously not an Optus one. Please keep an eye out for these. Make sure you let others know about the clever ways the bad guys are gaining access to personal information and systems. If you ever get an email you're not sure about, please send it through to us to check at [email protected] or give us a call. If you'd like to know more about protecting your systems from this type of activity, get in touch with Stuart or Tim and they'll be glad to run through a few options with you.

22.01.2022 End of life for Windows 7 is almost here. If you still have Windows 7 machines in your network, it's time to move them on and upgrade. Some machines can be upgraded without hardware replacement. Check with us about the status of your machines. We can help you with the changes. Windows 10 is simple, it feels much the same as Windows 7 and it's more secure. No downside really. https://mailchi.mp/f1b22203553f/windows-7-end-of-life

21.01.2022 We read a great article by CIO the other day it was about turning digital transformation into a practical reality. The piece got us thinking about practical considerations when it comes to digital transformation in businesses, and whether it is even feasible for certain businesses to make the digital transition. Read the article here. Digital transformation often entails a cloud-based solution. [ 472 more words ] http://www.qcsgroup.com.au/organisation-capable-digital-tr/

21.01.2022 This is a great article. Well worth a read for everyone who works for a living really. Draws an analogy between the way David Reynolds was physically unable to keep going during the race on Sunday and the way many business owners and managers burn themselves out by the end of the year. Take 5 minutes and have a read.

21.01.2022 As the new Notifiable Data Breach Scheme has come into effect on the 22 February 2018, there is now an onus on business to protect and notify individuals whose personal information is involved in a data breach that is likely to result in serious harm. When most people think of data breaches, they think of sneaky virus attacks with employees being tricked into opening files allowing viruses to penetrate servers, but the reality can be much more mundane, plausible and preventable. 20.01.2022 Can you still answer your business phones while your staff are working from home? With the right tools, you can. Check out the new "Lite" version of our 3CX phone system we've released today....... https://www.qcsgroup.com.au/keep-your-business-phones-ring/

18.01.2022 Employees who utilize modern mobile technology are more creative, satisfied and productive at workyet 75 percent of American workers feel their companies are not using the latest efficiency-boosting tools. While traditional Microsoft Office products like Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook lay the foundation for success, on-premise connections are severely limiting. If your business hasnt moved to the Cloud yet, employees may be working off outdated documents due to multiple versions floating around, or they could be losing productivity because of limited file access when travelling for work. 17.01.2022 With more than 120 million active business users worldwide, Microsoft Office 365 is by far the leading cloud-based productivity suite. But while Office 365 was designed to improve collaboration and boost organisational efficiency, many small to mid-sized businesses (SMBs) face unforeseen challenges when migrating to the Cloud. For instance, employees may encounter issues accessing the Cloud via an outdated, overloaded network, or fail to fully utilise critical Office 365 apps, features and support functions. 16.01.2022 We had a great cybersecurity training session this morning with Big Law at Strathpine. Stuart Auld and Hayden Mula were on site. The session was a lot of fun and it was great to get interested and engaged feedback from so many of the staff. One of the main takeaways from this morning's session was the need to be more and more vigilant. The malware and scams are getting harder to discern from legitimate requests. We've also delivered targeted "spam" emails into various organisations as part of our approved awareness and training. The results have been surprisingly good, with very few people falling for the fake emails. Happy to say Big Law passed with flying colours. This training is highly recommended for any organisation. It's cost effective and painless :-)

15.01.2022 If you have the free version of CamScanner on your Android device, uninstall it NOW!!!! This warning only applies to the free version because of an exploit via the advertising module within it. Apparently the paid version is ok. With over 100m downloads, it's likely that you or someone you know has this installed. I'd suggest they remove it ASAP.

14.01.2022 A recent article on whether or not to outsource your IT.

11.01.2022 Well, after many hours of training, education and endless pages of paperwork, QCS Group has been allocated Microsoft Surface Dealer status. Our long association with Microsoft has also seen us become Microsoft Gold partners earlier this year. Stuart Auld, Director of QCS Group, said today "We're excited about the possibilities now available to us and our clients through our Surface dealership.... The new Microsoft 365 solution is tailored specifically for the Surface product range and we're looking forward to sharing and implementing this and Office 365 with our clients and friends." If you haven't seen the Surface in action, get one of the QCS staff to talk to you about the productivity benefits and the user-friendliness of the platform. http://www.qcsgroup.com.au/microsoft-surface/

10.01.2022 Technology is often presented as a way to cut operational spendingafter all, if you can get a machine to do the work of 10 employees, youre definitely going to see some savings. However, when it comes to IT services and infrastructure, choose your savings carefully. Low-overhead IT solutions may cost less upfront, but opting for these services can come back to haunt you during an IT support or security event. 10.01.2022 Following on from our Lunch'n'Learn session last week.... Cybersecurity is becoming more important every day. Barracuda Networks are part of our defence systems for our clients. Is your business protected? If you're not sure, ask us to have a look.

09.01.2022 YES!!! We all need good news instead of the constant fear mongering and bad news stories. As Peter Switzer says in this article, it would be nice to see our political leaders being positive about the future for a change. This is a good read and reminds us we're WAY better off than most of the rest of the world. http://www.switzer.com.au//start-spreading-the-news-were-/

05.01.2022 The new era of IT support has changed the way IT consulting is delivered. What used to be a break-fix model has transitioned to managed service providers who consistently monitor a business' technology. This new model is not only more efficient in terms of keeping a business up-and-running, but also provides SMBs with an affordable way to maintain their IT. 02.01.2022 Choosing an IT support structure is a lot like choosing a treat from the ice cream truck (were going somewhere with this, we promise). Some people are Fudgsicle people, while others always go for the Rocket Pop. The point is that IT support comes in different flavours designed to suit various needs and budgets. Small businesses, which understandably have smaller budgets for IT spending, typically opt for low-overhead options. [ 740 more words ] http://www.qcsgroup.com.au/what-hourly-it-support-means-fo/
