25.01.2022 For Ladies & Juniors who have always wanted to try clay target shooting the Brisbane Gun Club offers the perfect opportunity, this Sunday 16th August at 9.30am. All wecome!
24.01.2022 A great weekend coming up at Dalby with the State Continental Points Championship on Saturday and the club Christmas shoot on the Sunday. Enjoy some of the best hospitality in Queensland and head out for a fun weekend.
20.01.2022 Well done to the Goondiwindi Gun Club for this fantastic initiative. Clay target shooting has been introduced as an elective for students at the Border Rivers Christian College, the first time for many years. Regional schools seem to have a better understanding of the need for kids to learn safe firearms practices and to appreciate our sport than metropolitan schools. Let's hope this is the beginning of a reinvigorated schools program for Queensland.
12.01.2022 At 14 years of age Emily Snelling is shooting with style, competing in her first comp just prior to the lock down. You can read more about Em in the Queensland News section of this month's online Clay Target magazine.
12.01.2022 It was great to see so much activity at the Redcliffe City CTC on Saturday. The club hosted a Come & Try day for the Moreton Bay Regional Shire Council where visitors enjoyed a shot and a get together under the trees. DTL practise for members was also underway, as well as a Have a Go session for Go Shooting. Some of the local residents also popped their heads out for a free feed. Great atmosphere and plenty of laughs - well done Redcliffe, keep up the good work.
11.01.2022 Every year we get fantastic reports about this shoot. Head out to Tambo on 19th & 20th September for a great weekend.
10.01.2022 Well done Border Rivers Christian College, Shawn and Goondiwindi Gun Club - keep up the great work!
09.01.2022 Great message Teash.
08.01.2022 A devastating loss to all who knew him, Greg Newey will be remembered as one of Queensland's gentleman shooters and a huge contributor to our sport and community. Words cannot convey our sadness. Condolences to Greg's family, Beth is in our prayers.
07.01.2022 The Dysart annual Trap Carnival is on 1st & 2nd August, well worth the trip for a great weekend.
07.01.2022 More great publicity for the Gladstone club and clay target shooting. Well done!
07.01.2022 Thank you to SE Zone President Kevin Jarick and his team, and the beautiful Gympie Clay Target Club for a fantastic weekend of shooting at the SE Zone Trap Carnival. 04.01.2022 More women are joining our sport than ever before. A great opportunity offered by the Brisbane Gun Club, all ladies and juniors welcome on 16th August.
04.01.2022 Congratulations to the Brisbane Gun Club for hosting a wonderfully successful Ladies & Junior Day last Saturday. Thanks to some great organisation by club manager Jacinta Shand, a massive 38 ladies and juniors turned out to give clay target shooting a try for the first time, or to benefit from some coaching and hone their skills. A fantastic effort by club instructors Collin, Fernando, Terry and Chad who shared their time and expertise to introduce new shooters to our sport. Also to all at BGC who helped out on the day. Thank you to all who attended, we hope to see you at the club again very soon. The QCTA is proud to support such a well run event. Full report and photos in the next edition of Clay Target magazine.
03.01.2022 Hey guys, Just want to introduce myself! My name is Elliott Gibb and I’m the Treasurer for the Gladstone Clay Target Club. This year I’m again participating in ...Movember to help raise awareness for men’s health. I’m calling on the shooting community to dig into their pockets to help me raise money for this wonderful cause. I would greatly appreciate QCTA’s help to share this to all QLD Clubs, to help me try and reach this years target! Any donation will be greatly appreciated! Cheers
