22.01.2022 Hi Everyone, We can’t meet together to make our Christmas wreaths, but maybe you can have a go at home yourselves if you want to while we are all locked down ...Take a wire coat hanger and make it into a circle. If you don’t want the hook at the top, you can cut it off with wire cutters and use pliers to fold over the twisted bit at the top. (Image 1) Cut your chosen fabric into 1*6 inch strips. You will need about 150 of a number of different fabrics. A few of each colour seems to work well. (Image 2) Tie the fabric around the wire in a single knot. You can mix up your colours as you choose. I started off with white and green, then added in a few red every now and again to make it look like berries. Well, that was the idea! (Image 3) Keep the knots pressed up together tightly and arrange to suit your taste. Hang wherever you choose! (Image 4) Happy Christmas! If you do one, please take a photo and post in the comments! Would love to see some! Cheers Jo Lush

03.01.2022 QCWA Moranbah would like to thank everyone who helped us today at Ted Rolfe Oval. To the community and businesses, we would also like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who came down to meet us and purchase some scones, jam and cream. The event was a celebration of QCWA turning 98 and our Moranbah branch turning 49 this year and a huge success. To our members and non members well done on baking scones and making jam, it was a very successful scone drive, Thankyou Vicki for organising the event.

03.01.2022 Not only do we have scones available this Friday, there is also a batch of freshly made Cumquat & Cointreau Marmalade and (the sober) Cumquat Marmalade available for purchase from $5 a jar. Available for purchase during the week and on Friday at Ted Rolfe Oval. Call Vicki 0402265636 if you would like a jar...or 3

02.01.2022 Unfortunately we have just found out we have to postpone the event. Our lovely @Tegan Hillier doing the event has hurt her back. Hopefully you will be up and at it again soon. I will keep everyone posted about the new date soon. Sorry for the inconvenience everyone. Have a great weekend.

02.01.2022 99 year-old "Scone Queen" rewarded Bundaberg's Dorothy Collishaw has finally been handed the apron she deserves, it only took her nearly 100 years to receive ...it. QCWA Bundaberg Branch presented our scone master with the apron after all the attention Dorothy received on Scone Day this year. The baker's daughter grew up in Maryborough and can still bash out a a jumping scone like you have never tasted. Would you like Dorothy's recipe? Of course you do. https://www.abc.net.au/r/recipes/scones-by-dorothy/10901192

02.01.2022 Ruth Bader Ginsburg. " To make life a little better for people less fortunate than you, that's what I think a meaningful life is. One lives not just for ones...elf but for one's community. " She lived what she preached. May she Rest In Peace. ABC showed a great documentary on her life Saturday afternoon. See if you can get it on iview. Well worth seeing. All our lives were made better by this small but passionate woman.
