24.01.2022 Thanks to Gayle East for the opportunity to set up the QCWA Morella Facebook page. A fantastic organisation with some wonderful women who work hard to keep it active for future generations to enjoy.

24.01.2022 Who is still recovering from last night?? Our Japanese dinner was fun filled noisy evening! The Japanese cuisine was delicious...prepared by several of oyr members, the quality and quantity ensured no one left hungry! Thanks to all who came, and to those who helped, whether by setting up, serving food, telling jokes or being quizmaster! Our next event is Melbourne Cup at Darriveen, 11am 3 November. Bring meat and sald, and some fruit salad to share! Gayle

22.01.2022 Hi all! The Morella CWA AGM will be held next. Wednesday the 28th 9.30am at Kinnon & Co. We would love to have the AGM at our hall but someone has nicked the pressure pump. Our beloved president Lyndall is getting along well in Brisbane but won't be back for the meeting unfortunately. Please consider taking a position this year....it's not hard folks!... Cheers Gayle

18.01.2022 CANCELLED! Sadly our Lithuanian International Dinner has been cancelled for 11 May due to lack of response! Hopefully we can hold it later when people might be less busy.

14.01.2022 Hi everyone! A big busy morning at the Hall when the crew of a reality TV show came through! Members worked hard to comply with their wishes but we had a funfilled morning to compensate. The show, The Amazing Race Australia, will be televised early next year so keep an eye out for it! Don't forget our next event....the International Dinner!

12.01.2022 Members, the date and venue of our AGM will soon be announced....it should be within the next couple of weeks...please think (favourably) about taking an executive position!

10.01.2022 Hello members and friends. The hall repairs are progressing well with the roof and ceilings finished but the interior painting and electrical work is awaiting completion. Smith Bros have painted the outside wall for us. Cheers Gayle

10.01.2022 Hello members. Most of you will be aware that Rob McClymont, husband of our Vice-president and long time member Jule, passed away last weekend. His funeral is on this Friday at 10am at the lawn cemetery. Also, half the roof of the Morella hall blew off last night in a random wild storm! The SES have tarped it and we are investigating insurance etc. Our next meeting will be in town of course.

08.01.2022 The annual Morella Christmas tree gathering held last Saturday night was a huge success beyond the Branch's expectations! The stream of carlights approaching our iconic little corrugated iron hall from four directions was a sight to behold. Especially we must thank the Baillie family from Corona and their helpers. Kelvin and Yvette bred and fed a porker which was roasted to perfection on a spit kindly lent by Darr River. Complete with heaps of crispy crunchy crackle, the meat... was ample to feed the big crowd estimated to exceed 100. The Baillie children worked alongside their parents and the Goughs and others to provide this treat for us all. Santa had a full complement of children to keep him busy and he had no risk of bumping his head in the gateway, as he rode in and out on the Toyota-sleigh, as it was lit up with our new flashing lights! It's struggle street in our area at the moment and has been for some years now. We strive to keep our little branch open to keep that community spirit alive, in good times and bad. Merry Christmas to you all!

07.01.2022 MELBOURNE CUP LUNCHEON at Darriveen tomorrow!!! 11am commencement, bring some cold meat, a salad and some fruit if you can. Wear a hat, crazy or not! Stroll through the beautiful garden and enjoy the company!

05.01.2022 The branch held a delightful Melbourne Cup party at the Darriveen home of supreme hosts Tony and Jan Hetherington yesterday. A small attendance of 15 generated lots of laughter and banter. Everyone contributed to the moreish food and a select few went home with extra cash from the sweeps! Our next event is the Christmas tree! Gayle

04.01.2022 Our monthly meeting at the Hall is scheduled for 9am Thursday 9 May. We'll be getting the hall ready for the International Dinner so it would be great if you can give a hand.

03.01.2022 Morella CWA Melbourne Cup party at Darriveen at 11am on Tuesday! Enjoy the beautiful cool shady gardens and then a delightful lunch while waiting for the cup! Please bring cold meat and salad to share, and some fruit for the fruit salad. There will be sweeps! No RSVP necessary, just turn up!
