21.01.2022 Santos GLNG has been awarded a tender to explore for new gas between Chinchilla and Roma. The award includes more than 2,000 square kilometres of highly prospec...tive areas in Queensland’s world class Surat and Bowen Basins. Nearly half of this land can only produce gas for the domestic market, which will support local manufacturing, industrial users and secure local jobs. The Queensland Government has also released a multi-million dollar COVID-19 relief package, which includes rent and fee waivers, to help maintain the state’s pipeline of resources projects and jobs. https://bit.ly/2WZKGbj See more

07.01.2022 COMMUNITY GRANTS GIVE YULEBA & DISTRICT BOWLS CLUB LIFELINE The Yuleba and District Bowls Club has recently installed an AED (automated external defibrillator),... which was made possible by the support from Maranoa Regional Council and Senex through the Small Community Grants Program. The state-of-the-art lifesaving unit not only delivers the required jolt to re-start the heart, but also provides the operator with audible instructions for its proper and safe use, and gives feedback on the pace and depth of chest compressions. The early use of a defibrillator is proven to dramatically improve survival rates of sudden cardiac arrest, compared to CPR alone. Councillor Tyson Golder said it is fantastic to see the Community Grants Program in action. Community Grants have been established to enhance our region’s communities and they’ve done just this at the Yuleba & District Bowls Club by providing a vital asset, Cr Golder said. I encourage all community groups throughout the region to apply for Council’s Community Grants Program. Council’s Community Grants Program 2020/21 is now open. Community groups have until Friday, 9 October 2020 to submit their applications. For more information regarding Council’s Community Grants Program, please contact Council’s Economic and Community Development Team on 1300 007 662.
