16.01.2022 Mrs de Jersey is the proud Patron of the Queensland Country Women’s Association, and today presented the QCWA President, Mrs Christine King, with a cheque for $...4,395.50. The funds were raised by Queenslanders who attended the 2019 Government House Christmas Lights Display. The donations will now go to the QCWA’s Public Rural Crisis Fund, which provides practical and financial support to rural Queensland families in distress. The QCWA was established in 1922, with then Queensland Governor, Sir Matthew Nathan, its first Patron. These proud vice-regal links have continued ever since. Queensland Country Women's Association

Other ladies are busy with technology. Three laptops and a tablet are being utilised doing all manner of interesting things, including family history, research and grant writing. Want to join us? Everyone welcome.

01.01.2022 What does your dinner plate look like? Here are some tips to help you check your portion size and ensure you meet the recommended serves of veggies each day: - ...1/2 of your plate should be vegetables (think variety and colour) - 1/4 of your plate should be good quality carbohydrate foods (wholegrain pasta, brown rice, oats, quinoa, potatoes...) - 1/4 of your plate should be a source of protein such as lean meat, poultry, eggs or legumes Do you manage to get all five serves of vegetables in each day? Let us know in the comments #QCWAcountrykitchens #checkyourportionsize
