25.01.2022 Wave Radiology Celebrates 10 years Wave Radiology commenced operations in July 2010 in Ballina; it was the brainchild of Radiologist Damien Hellwege and his wife Janene in partnership with QDI. The concept was to provide the Ballina community with an affordable, quality imaging provider with a focus on providing exceptional customer service. Damien and Janene have moved on, but there are still a number of original staff members still providing the professional care and attention to detail which characterises Wave’s business model.



24.01.2022 We would like to congratulate Amanda on her 20 year anniversary with QDI. Amanda is one of our longest serving staff members in the Ipswich area.

22.01.2022 QDI is excited to welcome Dr Sanjay Patel to our business. Dr Patel is now the Radiologist on site at our Strathpine and Murrumba Downs Clinics. Dr Patel is an accomplished general radiologist with a special interest in the area of MSK. Dr Patel has a number of original publications in his specialty area of MSK and co-authored the book the "Radiology Case Review Series: MSK Imaging" through McGrew and Hill. Dr Patel is currently an editor and peer reviewer of two journals and involves himself in training, lecturing and tutoring in MSK radiology. Dr Patel’s other specialty areas include Neuro and Spine Radiology and Sports Imaging. Dr Patel has acted as a consultant Radiologist to the Indian cricket team and a number of other sporting and Olympic teams in the UK. Welcome to QDI Sanjay.

21.01.2022 Congratulations to our staff member Loretta on reaching 20 years with QDI. Loretta is an integral part of the team in the Western suburbs. Loretta brings professionalism, dedication and a smile to work every day. Happy work anniversary Loretta.

18.01.2022 QDI continues to offer Breast Screening services at a number of our sites. We utilise Digital Breast Tomosynthesis also known as 3D mammography. 3D images significantly improve detection rates compared with traditional 2D mammography. 3D mammography is available at the following sites: Ballina, Caboolture, St Vincent's Breast Health Centre Chermside, Indooroopilly, North Lakes, Noosa Hospital, North West Hospital Everton Park, Varsity Lakes, Nundah and Strathpine.

If you are aged under 50 years and have a referral from your GP you may qualify for a bulk billed MRI at Queensland Diagnostic Imaging Varsity Lakes. 13.01.2022 At QDI we are working with our referrers to streamline TELEHEALTH consultations. The referring practitioners are encouraged to fax or email the referral directly to the site and the practice staff will contact the patient and make a booking. We want to assist our patients to maintain their self-isolation and reduce the risk of exposure to COVID-19.

13.01.2022 Sunday the 8th November is World Radiography Day. QDI would like to acknowledge the vital contribution our Radiographers play in the diagnosis and management of patients who visit our sites. Radiographers are crucial to ensuring our patients images are of the highest quality whilst keeping safety top of mind.

11.01.2022 The QDI Caboolture ladies supporting Crazy Socks 4 Docs day. The staff are helping to create awareness and normalise Mental Health issues in Healthcare professionals, especially our wonderful Doctors.

11.01.2022 Staff Spotlight: Chris Anderson studied Bachelor of Medical Radiation Science in Nuclear Medicine at The University of Newcastle. Following graduation, he worked at Monash Hospital and Latrobe Regional Hospital in Victoria, eventually becoming Modality Manager of the busy Nuclear Medicine department at Latrobe Regional Hospital and being involved in the planning and development of the first PET scanner in Eastern Victoria. Chris is now the Head of Nuclear Medicine for QDI an...d since taking on the role in January 2019, has helped initiate and implement the first PET service for QDI at St Vincent's Private Hospital Northside, as well as managing Nuclear Medicine services across St Vincent's, Strathpine and Kawana sites. Chris has also helped with the expansion into PSMA PET and the implementation of Theranostics in conjunction with GenesisCare Chermside. Chris is a valued member of the QDI team, we are grateful to have him on board. See more

10.01.2022 The staff at QDI St Vincent's Hospital Northside decided to have a 'mood booster' week to reset staff due to the impact Covid 19 had on the workplace. Every day had a theme: attached are images of Wellness Wednesday and Thank you Thursday. The week was success with smiles and laughs from both staff and patients.

10.01.2022 October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, breast cancer remains the most common cancer in Australian women (excluding non-melanoma skin cancer). Take the time this month increase your awareness of breast cancer and the impact it has on our community. 08.01.2022 Staff spotlight Tyson Parish has been employed as the Imaging Manager for our Strathpine and Murrumba Downs sites for the past 3 years. Tyson completed his Radiography degree at QUT Gardens Point in Brisbane and commenced his career at the Redcliffe Hospital where he gained a range of experiences in different areas of medical imaging. Tyson has an aptitude for developing a site to meet the needs of the community. We have seen the Strathpine and Murrumba Downs QDI sites fl...ourish with Tyson’s input. The Strathpine site will soon gain some equipment upgrades which will increase the capability of the Nuclear Medicine Department as well as introduce some specialised Cardiac Imaging services. The Strathpine site can now also provide Platelet Rich Plasma therapy for those patients with difficult to treat joint and muscle injuries. Tyson is happy to go and visit the referring Doctors in the area and educate them on the services available at QDI Strathpine and Murrumba Downs. He is a valued staff member and an asset to QDI. With the year 2020 has been, its a good time to reach out an ask your colleagues if they are OK? We all need to ensure we have support measures in place if they say "No, I am not OK".

01.01.2022 QDI is excited to announce Dr Mark Philips will be onsite at North West Hospital every Thursday commencing the 26th November 2020. Dr Philips specialises in all areas of Paediatric Radiology including Paediatric Cardiac Imaging. Dr Philip's expertise in Paediatric Radiology is a valuable asset to the QDI team.

01.01.2022 QDI Radiologist Dr Neeta Wilfred completed her Diagnostic Radiology training at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, Brisbane. She undertook fellowship training in Breast and Women’s Imaging and MR Neuro Imaging in The Royal Brisbane Hospital. She now works full time exclusively at QDI Indooroopilly. Since graduating she has practised in hospital based and suburban radiology practises in Brisbane and Gold Coast. Special interests include CT and US guided interventional procedures and Breast imaging and intervention.
