21.01.2022 Branching out this year - growing, evolving and developing! This years sees me upgrading my Level 1 Qigong Teacher Training as well as introducing Level 2 QTT. Fair to say that I am excited to present both these new courses!!... Level 1 has been run 4 times now and through its development I have refined the whole level 1 program by including my entire internal movement based exercise system called Qi Fit Internal Movement Strategs. This system of exercises is designed to bridge isolated body movement with the complex movement of ‘internal movement’ or what I prefer to call ‘whole -body movement’. This is an intricate aspect of qigong which as far as I can tell is not being very successfully taught throughout the qigong and even taijiquan community. This course plans to begin bridging that gap - as that is my mission and deepest passion! What this means is that those who complete my course will not only all the qigong methods to choose from, but also a host of qigong specific warm up and cool down movement drills that will help them learn the more advanced movement principles of qigong - while also giving them amazing ways to open their body and irrigate their bio-energetic pathways by creating healthy and strong structure and movement. After all, essentially qigong is really about growing and evolving the human being (inside and out / mentally as well as physically). Level 2 is also here!! In this level students continue advancing their Qi Fit whole-body movement strategies, the existing qigong forms (from level 1) are further developed into more complex whole-body movements as well as students being taught a host of new qigong movements. Level 2 is a 10mth course and is run as a mastermind group which I am really very excited about. If you want more details check the link in my bio or shoot me a message. I hope you’re in good health
21.01.2022 For those here who have contacted me regarding my Qigong Teacher Training courses previously - below is a rundown on my course plan for 2021. This year I have two Level 1 courses and one Level 2 course planned for early 2021 with another Level 1 coming later in 2021. Of the two Level 1 courses, one is an intensive 7-day course. This intensive course follows the original Level 1 format and is designed to bridge the gap for those wanting to move straight into the Level 2 course...Continue reading
19.01.2022 Help me send out a huge congratulations to these beautiful humans! In exactly 3 weeks they are going to definitely be 'getting their qi on' while completing the practical component of their Certificate 1 Qigong Teacher Training. Boom!! Legends!!... I felt that this crew was a really special group and each of these amazing people in their own special way bought their unique essence and personal gifts to the workshop making for a truly educational and enjoyable experience. With so many healers and evolving souls in the room discussing the effects of movement on human energetics and Chinese medicine - how can it not be the most awesome fun ever? Fair to say that I am extremely proud of the work they have all put in and continue to put into their own development. This is the 4th group through my courses which feels like a huge milestone and finds me having just finished upgrading my Level 1 course offering and also completing my first Level 2 training certificate. I am very so grateful for everyone over the past 2 years who have attended my course and also to those who have supported me in developing my Qigong Teacher Training programs. Thanks Aaaaaaaaand...since us qigong folks don't use the whole "see you on the mat" or "namaste" etc as yogis do...is it fair for us qigongers to say "come and let's get rooted, together"?
15.01.2022 Clever monkey!! Pretty sure this little fella is using the Reverse Breath technique.
10.01.2022 Check these two pics out In picture 1 - so apparently, ...astronomers solved how super massive black holes evolved in the early universe by modeling how the collision of giant primordial galaxies. Yeah, okay right!... But you know, it all just reminds me of something so...intangible Picture 2 - #yinyang#taichi #taijiquan #galaxy #whengalaxiescollide #tao #theway #life
05.01.2022 Qigong Teacher Training kicking off this Saturday. I have all 10 manuals printed, bound and ready to go!! All 179 pages each! It’s the largest number of people attending a course, the largest number of text printed and just sitting here looking at them blows my mind in a good way of course! Feeling humbled, excited, grateful and maybe a touch nervous and maybe a touch proud too - and why not - after the preparation and work put in over the last 1.5 years building this c...ourse up - I deserve it and it feels gooooood!! Yet...admittedly there is a long way to go and some big goals cemented in my mind and bluetac’ed to my bedroom wall. Let’s do this!!
03.01.2022 After watching a few John Mews @mr.mewing and learning about how the structure of the jaw effects so many aspects of our health I decided to dedicate some time to working on improving my jaw health and tongue habits. It’s seriously interesting stuff and Dr. Mew’s theories fit with the concept in Qigong of internal tension and the way that biotensegrity instructs the body’s cells and structures to form and function correctly. So between strengthening my jaw and strengthening m...y tongue (after all it’s just a muscle) so many positive changes have occurred. Changes such as: no general jaw clicking, no need to physically manipulate and click my jaw into ‘position’, no need to click/crack my neck to relieve neck and shoulder tension. My sinuses have improved and my breathing deeper and feels like I get more air. My sleep have improved and I wake more rested - likely due to reduced snoring (which I do sometimes) or any level of sleep apnea (which to the best of my knowledge I actually don’t have...but I am not wake to know). With my tongue in correct position on my upper palate I also feel more composed and mindful. It is now my understanding that the traditional view in qigong where the tongue tip is placed on the roof of the mouth is less accurate. And instead, the entire tongue should be places firmly on the roof of the mouth - especially the back 3rd of the tongue. Not to mention the Pituitary gland sits superior to that position. So if you have any of the above issues, buy on of these little Jawasize thingies and check out Mewing exercises on YouTube and start practicing daily. The results are subtle but profound. I hope you’re in good health

02.01.2022 The Four Pillars in Chinese Medicine - Part 1 In Traditional Chinese medicine, qigong is regarded as a form of medicine. So much so that in Chinese Medicine qigong has long been regarded as one of the Four Pillars of classical Chinese medicine. The Four Pillars include:... Qigong/Meditation Acupuncture/Moxibustion Herbal Medicine/Nutrition Tui na Massage/Manipulation It is said that a Chinese doctor who has mastered every one of these four modalities is a true master of medicine. In fact, for centuries, qigong formed the very basis for many of the ancient master's medical approach for preventing and even treating disease. As we know today, meditation and fitness form many of the cornerstones of health and keep the human organism healthy and free from disease. So well established are these facts of human and even social wellness that I feel no need to make a list of the benefits of just taking time to exercise our body and train our mind. In China, qigong has always been seen primarily as one of the most beneficial exercises for regulating human health. This is because qigong promotes 'qi transformation, cultivation and flow' which would equate in the Western mind as an acquired increase in harmonious and homeostatic bodily functionality and epigenetic expression. The reason qigong is so good at achieving this is because it offers these health benefits without causing any excessive physical exhaustion or requiring the physiological repair of the exercised bodily tissues. By not having to repair itself after exercise and use precious biological resources, the body's own self-healing mechanisms, now activated through the qigong exercise either begins searching for injuries to heal or begins remodelling and strengthening undamaged tissues and structures. *Pictured: The Daoyin Tu.
