Australia, Grey-headed Flying-foxes (Pteropus poliocephalus) are vitally important for native seed dispersal and pollination, feeding on over 100 species of flowering trees, fleshy-fruited trees and liana. In a single night, a Grey-headed Flying-fox can travel over 40 kilometres, pollinating trees and spreading up to 60,000 seeds as it goes. Over a year, they can travel up to and incredible 2,500 kms. With the recent bushfires, they are now more important than ever in helping with native forest regeneration.
