25.01.2022 The chocolates have nearly all been eaten and we are almost ready to shut up shop for 2018. We will be closed from this afternoon and will return to take on all the dodgy knees that come our way from Monday 14 January. Merry Christmas from the QKSC team.
23.01.2022 We are setting ourselves up for online consulting and will be in touch soon with those patients who fall into this post op consult category.
22.01.2022 Ok Bunnings, your profit margins are about to go down as Dr Gallagher swaps his overalls for scrubs and starts operating again this Monday 11 May. Thank you to our patients for all of their flexibility during the this time.
22.01.2022 Always a sad day when we take down the Christmas decorations .....
21.01.2022 Oh dear, our physiotherapist Robert Godbolt has grown a mo! But its for a good cause raising funds for mens health during Movember. Some of us have offered him money to shave it off NOW - if youd like to donate, link is https://mobro.co/robgodbolt Good on you Robbie!
19.01.2022 A race horse is the only animal that can take several thousand people for a ride at the same time. The team at QKSC had a great ride on Tuesday. Big day in the clinic today due to closing the office!
19.01.2022 What do you do 6 months after bilateral knee replacements? You head for the hills! Rod tested out his new knees in July this year by taking them to Moraine Lake in the rugged Valley of the Ten Peaks, Banff National Park, Alberta, Canada. He and wife Jacqui showed me some stunning shots this morning at his 1 year check up. We love to hear where your knees have been!!

16.01.2022 Dont do it Dr Gallagher .... we finish up for 3 weeks tomorrow and will be returning to the rooms on Monday 13 January. Any concerns, patients can call St Andrews on 3834 4444 or Dr Gallagher on his mobile. Merry Christmas everyone!
15.01.2022 Its all very funny until its not funny. If youve had knee surgery and have metal in your knee, we recommend antibiotic prophylaxis such as Amoxil 30 mins prior to even a clean and scale.
15.01.2022 Happy New Year to all our patients past and present. We are back in the rooms and ready for a big year where we will all hopefully retain our excellent sense of humour!
14.01.2022 This week sees Stirling and Jack join the QKSC team so dont be surprised when you hear deep voices on the front desk!
14.01.2022 Stay tuned on Tuesday ....
14.01.2022 Its beginning to look a lot like Christmas at QKSC!
12.01.2022 Smiley faces all round at the clinic this AM. Pictured parasailing in Jan this year is Madonna who is a young knee replacement patient. Madonnas knees were impacting her entire life and she was having to use a wheelchair for simple trips to the beach as she couldnt walk on sand. She is now bushwalking, bike riding and living a much larger life with her two new knees. Good on you Madonna!
11.01.2022 Ernest Hemingway once said I love sleep. My life has a tendency to fall apart when Im awake. Heres to the men who help our patients to have a lovely sleep during their surgery - anaesthetists (left to right) Dr Trevor Ghidella, Dr Bruce Hammonds and Dr Richard Galluzzo.
10.01.2022 Our hearts go out to Tania Curr and the many patients we have living in Western Queensland who have been devastated by flooding and livestock loss. We stand with you and promise that we will look after anyone in the affected area for the next five years at no cost. This promise will be communicated to all GPs in the region. If youre down on your knees, we will look after them.
10.01.2022 Wednesday wit ...

07.01.2022 Thank you to all the hard working members of my theatre & clinic team for helping to enjoy Melbourne Cup again this year and for looking after our patients year after year. We are looking forward to having another great year in 2019 already!
07.01.2022 This is a kidney bean. But we want to know where has your knee been? If youve had surgery with Dr Gallagher and gone on to do something adventurous and exciting, we want to know about it! Post your pic and share your story.
05.01.2022 Sadly, today we farewelled one of our front office staff - Stephanie Brown - as she begins her own journey in the world of medicine as a 1st year Medical Student - congratulations Steph, we wish you every success in the future. From all the team @ QKSC thank you, farewell & Good Luck!!
05.01.2022 We will advise when it is once again deemed safe to operate and so until then, take care of yourselves and your loved ones and stay healthy.
05.01.2022 We love an excuse for a celebration .... our lovely nurse Jess just turned 25! Happy birthday from all of your QKSC colleagues.
05.01.2022 In order to minimise the opportunity for COVID-19 transmission, QKSC requests that anyone attending appointments only bring with them other people who are essential for the consultation. We are discouraging casual attendance by others at this time. We trust you understand.
04.01.2022 Some bright news on this miserable Monday - Joy was in a great deal of pain with her left knee when I met up with her again in March this year (she had her right knee replaced by me in 2014). She had trouble getting into a car, walking up stairs, couldn't stand for long and couldn't garden. She had to come home from a trip to see family in the UK two weeks before her 11th grandchild was born due to the pain. We replaced her left knee in August and she's back in her beloved garden and went back to the UK to meet the newest member of her family when he was 12 weeks old. Joy to my heart!
03.01.2022 And you will read this at the end!
03.01.2022 Ok people, we are up and running with Telehealth consultations as of Tuesday 14 April. We will continue to care for our patients in their post op period and will also see new patients if theyre happy to do so via Zoom.

01.01.2022 Page 3 of The Courier Mail provides some interesting reading today. If all is well between you and your partner, it bodes well for your knees!
