24.01.2022 Listen up people. Clive Josey is organising a Christmas get together at the Geebung R.S.L , Friday 25th (This Friday) at 12pm start. As you all know these parties carry on in to the night, so it does not matter if you are a bit late. So if you would like to come please do. Anyone planning on catching a train to the function that usually catches the Caboolture train, DO NOT CATCH THE CABOOLTURE TRAIN! IT WILL NOT STOP AT GEEBUNG, SO YOU NEED TO CATCH THE REDCLIFFE TRAIN. People coming from Caboolture will have to change at petrie for the train from Redcliffe going towards the city. Also remember anybody from Albion,Wooloowin,Toombul,Nundah must change at Eagle Junction or Northgate as the Redcliffe train don.t stop there at those stations.

Hi There, I am writing from the Queensland Pioneer Steam Railway at Swanbank, recently we were gifted a stunning set of QR M Series sleeping carriage and diners and are hoping t recreate the golden age of the Sunlander and Queenslander on our little 19km branch doing dinner trains and the occasional over night runs. As these coaches are very new to us we are hoping that we can interest some persons who worked on them in service to help us to keep them as they were in the good old days. I am not sure if it would be appropriate to post it on our group but was hoping you may have some members who may be interested. 16.01.2022 TO PAST AND PRESENT LONG DISTANCE TRAIN STAFF Next Reunion is at Geebung RSL on Saturday the 3rd of March. We usually start about 1.30pm at the Cafe upstairs an...d have Dinner at around 6.30pm. So come at any time either for just a chat or a good day and great food with old mates. Erica has asked that people bring photos if they have any. Please spread the word about the reunion as some of us do not have Facebook. Cant wait to see you all there. THIS GET TOGETHER WILL NOW ALSO BE FOR OUR GOOD MATE CLIVE JOSEY WHO FINISHED HIS LAST SHIFT WITH QR RECENTLY. WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU ALL COULD MAKE IT. 12.01.2022 I have some very sad news. Please forgive me if I have the spelling wrong. Our old work mate Lyn Kahl passed away from cancer today. Lyn passed away peacefully in her sleep. I remember all the funny times and great times I had with Lyn, both working and our stop overs with Lyn. Sending much love to Betty, and Lyns family. I understand that the funeral will be on Thursday. Details should be posted in the Courier Mail.

11.01.2022 Betty Halvorsen would like to extend her many thanks in appreciation to all that sent well wishes, support, and those that attended her close friend Lyns funeral. I copied the comments on here that some of you made at Lyns passing. She was delighted to read them. Betty is doing well as can be expected, and she just wanted to pass on her heart felt thanks.

10.01.2022 It is with great sadness that I bring you the news that Betty Halvorsen passed away on the 26th of December. Her funeral with on the 7th of January. It was a shame that none of us knew so we could attend. We send much love and support to family and friends.

06.01.2022 BIG SHOUT OUT TO DAVID FENNELL. Whilst at the reunion last night, we had the pleasure of meeting the Chairman of Queensland Pioneer Steam Railway Mr Robert Shearer. Robert told us that David has been helping them out with the M series carraiges they have aquired from QR. David has been a god send and many thanks go out to him. :)

01.01.2022 Well I was told not as many people turned up to the reunion this time but everyone still had a great time I think. I know I did, it was a shame I went home early, would have loved to have stayed but just could not sit or stand much longer. It was great to see you all there. :)
