18.01.2022 STAWELL ATHLETIC COMMITTEE STATEMENT ON THE STAWELL GIFT The Victorian Government has implemented a State of Emergency that bans non-essential mass gatherings o...f 500 or more people in Victoria, effective midday Monday 16 March until 13 April 2020. In respect of this announcement, the 2020 Stawell Gift will not proceed on April 11-13, 2020. The Stawell Athletic Club is working closely with the Victorian Government, Northern Grampians Shire Council and the Victorian Athletic League in what is an evolving situation. This includes assessing options for potentially re-scheduling the 2020 Stawell Gift to a date later in the year. More information will be made available via the Stawell Gift website in the coming weeks. We thank all of our participants, partners, spectators and suppliers for their patience and understanding at this challenging time.

We run on 23rd November 2019, Saturday afternoon with evening Finals under lights.... The Noosa Gift is an important event for our club and it combines athletes from QA, QAL ,Little Athletics and Beach Sprint Stables. Weve had some tremendous finals over the last decade and we are keen to make sure that you are part of our 10th Noosa Gift. The gift that puts the carnival back into athletics carnivals !! 15.01.2022 After a 10 year hiatus the Kilcoy 120m Turf Club Gift was back with a bang ! The 4th winner of the Gift was Gary Finegan off the back mark of 4 metres. Finegan and Liam Gander (5m)went into the final as equal favourites with Con Searle Bookmakers. They eventually were the ones to battle it out with Finegan surging in the heavy track to take the $3000 winners cheque. Placings were Gander, Dolezal 9m, Gordon 5m, Yoshikawa 8.5m and Berlin 16m.

08.01.2022 It is with great sadness that I inform the QAL family that our good friend Brad Duxbury passed away in a recent accident. Brad not only ran with the QAL but was instrumental in helping when ever he could with officiating, recording and educating us with new advances in sprint timing. He was a wonderful bloke with a great sense of humour and we are all gutted by this news. Our condolences go out to Brads family, friends, and all our mates at the Ipswich Athletic Club.

04.01.2022 Sam Reeve has held on to take out the 10th running of the Noosa Surf Club 110m Gift. After a good showing at the Somerset Gift Reeve held off a class field of eight, with in form Fejiro Omuvwie 2nd and Kerryn Ryan 3rd. Other big winners on the day were Noosas own Kai Thompson -Murray Surveyors 300m, James Brown Pacific Ford 70m and Miriam Peni - Accom Noosa Ladies Invitational 110m. 03.01.2022 Hiya wonderful supporters of the QAL ! Just a quick update: At present there is no races planned for the immediate future. We will update both QAL and QA media sites if anything changes.... We will continue to work with the many clubs and communitys who put on the wonderful events across the South East. Many may ask why dont the races just go ahead like other community sport? Fair question, but as you know for an event to take place we require the support of our awesome sponsors and quite frankly many have been hit hard. Consequently, we will be guided and support event organisers and sponsors who have given so much to our sport and hope events will begin again in the near future. Regards Steve

02.01.2022 Unfortunately, the Macksville Gift held at Scotts Head this Saturday has been cancelled due to flooding.. Its such a shame as the original running of the Gift had to be rescheduled due to the bushfires in 2019. We look forward to better luck next season for this great event.
