25.01.2022 Congratulations to the Ned Flanders XI for their win in the State Shield Grand Final. In the other 'mini' final played by the lower half of the draw, Wynnum Baptist took the win. It was a fine effort by all 4 teams that played in these games to get to this final fixture of 2018.... Well done everyone. It would be remembered as the round of 'The Captains '' no doubt with 3 of the oldest captains going around for their teams this season showing up the 'young ones' with best on ground efforts (not sure about Salvation Army individual scores at this time). M.Young (c) for the NFXI top scored with 96 not out to help post a big score of 5/210. The Salvos went down fighting hard before falling short by 63 runs in the 24th over. M.Martindale (c) for WB shone with 72 runs, taking 2 wickets, a catch in the field and a stumping while keeping. With only 7 official players WB made 6/151 before grabbing a slender 7 run win with 6 players left playing at the end. A. Choudary (c) for Kuraby Lions - out bowled his teammates when he took 3/13 to give his team a chance. The next half of the season will commence mid January with details about it all coming out soon. Enjoy the break everyone. Take care. May the peace and hope of Christ's birth be with you now and in the days ahead.
