24.01.2022 TIP: When it comes to decking, there is no reason you cant be creative and as we head into the cooler months, its important to remember that outdoor entertaining can be an all-year-round option. Why not consider a pergola with a built in fireplace? #qlddecking #qlddeckingtip

24.01.2022 TIP: The Australian winter can be a harsh season, wreaking particular havoc on outdoor timber decking. The best thing you can do to ensure your outdoor timber structures and joinery make it through the chillier months is a little pre-emptive protection. Here are three quick tips: 1. Dry rot can cause further damage to timber so ensure any splits, holes or cracks are filled with wood filler. 2. Signs a deck may need to be recoated include peeling, flaking, discolouration, mould growth or greying of the timber surface. 3. Applying a waterproof coat to the timber deck will protect surfaces against damage from moisture, mould and rot over winter #qlddecking #qlddeckingtip

21.01.2022 "This Glass House Mountains house perched on the edge of the remnant rim in Maleny, Queensland celebrates natural surfaces which are highly crafted with timber elements. Whilst the decking in between the house has the ability to make people to feel like they are outdoors, it also has the ability to make people feel like they are snug and cosy inside the house." Bark Design Architects

20.01.2022 "Since school teacher Judy and husband Peter downsized from a 10-acre farm to a beach shack on Victoria's Mornington Peninsula, they haven't looked back. They lived in the house for a year before extending the kitchen/dining area and adding all-season outdoor timber decking areas." // Homes To Love

18.01.2022 TIP: Autumn is the perfect season to give your outdoor area some love. If youve got a spare weekend up your sleeve, its time to get to work and give your deck a little makeover: 1. For a quick updater, add some lighting. We like solar lights which are readily available at hardware stores. 2. If you're seating is looking a little worse for wear, hose down your chairs, wash your cushion covers, or give your existing furniture a fresh lick of paint. 3. Give your outdoor area ...some personality and style by investing in throws, art, a firepit and planters. 4. If your timber deck is fading, now is the perfect time to freshen it up with an oil or water based decking treatment. #qlddecking #qlddeckingtip See more

18.01.2022 TIP: If you see your deck peeling or flaking, this is a sure sign it's in bad condition. Do note, it may be necessary to strip back the timber before applying a new coat #qlddecking #qlddecking tip

18.01.2022 QldDECKING Tip: Don't let your timber deck go to rot! Here are our four simple tips to help maintain your outdoor area. 1. Decks should be cleaned of dirt at least twice a year with a specialist deck cleaner. 2. Regularly check timber for signs of rotting and mildew. 3. Maintain timber colour by choosing a UV sunlight protector sealant. 4. Move potted plants every six months and check the timber underneath.

15.01.2022 At QldDECKING, we always consider where we get your timber from. We use Australian hardwood sourced from sustainability managed forests within a 200km radius of Gympie, in Queensland. This contributes to the economic growth of local communities and greatly reduces greenhouse gas emissions associated with heavy transport #qlddecking #qlddeckingtip

15.01.2022 TIP: Do consider styling your timber deck with greenery. Timber is a versatile material that can be worked into almost any palette, but it pairs extremely well with green. If you're new to greenery, simply add a gorgeous succulent on top of your outdoor table. For those who are more adventurous, create a cluster of potted plants in various locations around your timber deck. How many you choose is really up to you! #qlddecking #qlddeckingtip

09.01.2022 TIP: During cold and rainy months, be sure to clear away any leaves or dirt that may pile up on the deck or in between gaps in the timber to prevent mould or lingering damp, which can cause damage to timber surfaces #qlddecking #qlddeckingtip

06.01.2022 TIP: Make a statement with oversized timber doors that extends all the way to the ceiling and leads out to your outdoor deck area. It will create more airflow and open a space right up, giving the illusion that the ceiling is higher than normal #qlddecking #qlddeckingtip

06.01.2022 At QldDECKING our 4 Stage Process is simple: Stage 1 Planning: Starts with an initial planning meeting and a site visit with our experienced team. Stage 2 Design: Here we discuss exactly what you want from your custom deck.... Stage 3 Construction: Our decks are built from the ground up using the best possible materials available. Stage 4 Finishing: The deck, once completely built, will be finished with a decking oil or stain (if requested) to preserve the timber and enhance its natural beauty. Feel free to contact us at [email protected] to set up an initial decking project meeting! #qlddecking

06.01.2022 TIP: Don't just use hardwood or steel stringer steps leading off your deck into the garden. Consider spending a bit extra with decking stairs, which allows the deck to seamlessly meet the garden with ease #qlddecking #qlddeckingtip

05.01.2022 Need to install decking over concrete? We can help! 04.01.2022 "This couple added a 15 metre pool and used rough-sawn railway sleepers for the timber fencing with the external deck made from blackbutt.
