08.01.2022 This poor staffy puppy learned the hard way that chasing cats isn't all it's cracked up to be when he got his head stuck in this wheel. But there's a fascinatin...g reason why so many dogs get caught out just like Jade... When a kitten scurried past this staffy pup and hid behind a wheel, she couldn't resist the urge to investigate. And while her head went in to one of the holes of the wheel for a closer look, it didn't come back out. In fact, only a general anaesthetic and the use of lubricant at the local vet hospital allowed her to be freed. And while it may have been a little embarrassing for her, maybe she was entirely to blame after all... You see, almost every single dog possesses a triangular shaped head and mobile ears that go very well into small spaces but struggle to come out. In fact, the ear flaps actually bunch up when they're pulled back; essentially locking their head in place at the jaws. It's actually the basis of why a collar stays on their neck and doesn't slide back over their head. So while it's unlikely that dogs like Jade will use their head before they explore with it, it's an interesting reminder to sometimes do the thinking for them and sense what gates, fences or even furniture could cause that triangle head to get stuck... Has your dog had their head stuck in a surprising place?

01.01.2022 Barking is good. It’s a wonderful way of communicating, from alerting us to visitors, to signaling help!, to intimating individuals with dangerous intents. So... yup, barking is great. Until it’s not. Few people have a problem with a dog barking a few times. It’s how to stop the barking once one has been alerted or warned that is the challenge. See more
