25.01.2022 Day two saw two races held in around 15 knots of breeze. With some very close racing in most classes. Here are some photos of the action and boats on the rigging area.

25.01.2022 A great first day of racing at the Queensland state titles with 40 boats attending. Winds yesterday ranged from 10-15 knots and were a little on the shifty side. It was great we managed to get all 3 races that were scheduled in. Racing will continue tomorrow afternoon with today being a lay day due to News year day. Here are the results so far.

24.01.2022 5.8 Results - Qld State Titles - Airlie Beach! Congratulations to all the Nacra 5.8 sailors! 12 boats was a really great turn out with crews from as far north as Cairns and as far south as the Gold Coast! It was great to see a few new 5.8s competing and a still very competitive 1300 series boat mixing it with the best all weekend as well. Andrew Torpland.... well done and massive kudos to you for getting Reuben out for a few races on the last day! Congrats Jason and Andrew on the overall win... well sailed lads!

21.01.2022 Nacra 17 results - Qld state titles - Airlie Beach. Day 1 of the event presented some very testing 15-20knots conditions with gusts upto high 20s! Despite the conditions the lads on L Plates went ahead, went alone and received 3 bullets for day 1! Day 2 and day 3 saw much better conditions for racing with all four boats competing for the coveted title of Qld state champ. This year that titles goes to Col Keen and Liz Wardley on the Catcovers.com.Au boat! Congrats to you both and hope we see you both racing Nacras a lot more!

20.01.2022 Well done to all the Queenslanders that competed in the recent national titles in Meningie. They managed to win the Nacra 58 Nacra Infusion Nacra 4.5... Nacra 350 Plus the misc division. Big thanks to Jeff and Liz Southall for running such a great event. A total of 41 boats competed which is a fantastic fleet for this part of the world. It was great to see a fleet of Nacra 350s thanks for the people that talk their boats to the event so the local children could compete. Here are the results and some photos.

19.01.2022 Nacra Misc Class - Three 4.5s and a 5.0 made up the misc fleet! Starting along side the N17s the misc fleet made it look easy as they raced in the strong and sometimes shifty conditions. Congratulations to Jesse and Zac on the 5.0 for competing.... we really hope to see you again at the next event!

We are all very disappointed however health and safety is paramount. A big thank you to Humpybong Sailing Club for your assistance and understanding.... Stay safe remember social distancing we’ll see you on the water soon.

Also a video of the top mark of the Nacra 5.8s which is great to see the difference in the crews tacking the boats.

12.01.2022 Notice of Race Queensland Championships Hervey Bay Sailing Club 30 December 2020 - 5 January 2021 https://fastwaygoldcoast-my.sharepoint.com//EUcneVSEZJNGj0

11.01.2022 Hi All Please see a notice on the upcoming nationals from the Nacra National President. 2020-2021 Nacra titles... To All Nacra Members, After extensive consultation with the Queensland Association and the other Nacra districts, the National Association has made the difficult decision to postpone the 2020-2021 National championships. With members spread over every state in the country, the ongoing border closures brought about by Covid-19 has made running a National Championship unfeasible at this time. As noted in my previous update, the regatta will be changed to a Queensland State Titles and will run from the 30th December 5th January 2021 at Harvey Bay Sailing Club. The National Championships will be postponed 12 months and will be held in Queensland in 2021-2022, at a location to be confirmed. The Queensland Association is committed to making this the biggest and best state titles ever. We strongly encourage those that can still travel to support the event. I personally have moved from Victoria to Queensland to attend and I’ve also heard of members as far afield as SA, VIC, WA on standby if borders open in December. With many Queenslanders choosing to travel closer to home this year, accommodation in Hervey Bay is booking out quickly. We ask those members that have bookings and are no longer planning to attend the event, please get in please contract with Warren Guinea from Nacra Australia prior to cancelling. [email protected] For those of you wishing to take over a booking please get in contact as well. I look forward to seeing as many of you as I can at the event. Regards, Leigh Gornall President - Nacra Association of Australia

02.01.2022 Nacras fly the flag in Cairns. While us Brisbane people braved the rain and cold this weekend. The fleet in far North Queensland enjoyed fabulous conditions with sunshine and 15-18knots of breeze. Great to see Luke Mcmullen christen his new Nacra 58. The fleet is on the rise again up north with 5 nacra 5.8s in the region plus many other Nacras also attending the regatta.
