08.01.2022 In light of the developing epidemic, we would like to ask everyone to put the health of the community first these next few weeks. Please reconsider attending games if any of the following apply to you: 1. You have had contact with a person who was confirmed to have a case of Covid-19; 2. You recently returned from overseas; or, 3. You feel unwell for any reason, including the "it’s probably nothing"s... To limit player-to-player contact, *teams will not shake hands* at the end of the match. Instead, please use fist bumps or a non-contact acknowledgement of your own design. Additionally, matches where one or both teams forfeit due to lack of players, and give reasonable notice, will be declared draws. This is being put in place to encourage those who feel ill to stay home as a precaution. The health and well-being of our participants is our top priority.

03.01.2022 **COVID-19 August Update** With the reintroduction of restrictions back in Queensland, Easts and Phoenix League have considered the implications of of the new cases to the competition. The good news - at this current time, The Phoenix League will continue with the competition under the COVID Safe Industry Plan as well as documentation written by Easts COVID Safety Officer, Peter Worthy. Most importantly, remember to sign-in via the QR Codes at the front entrance, and to ple...ase not come if you are displaying any flu-like symptoms OR have been in one of the contact traced locations (https://www.qld.gov.au//cor/current-status/contact-tracing) * Please arrive no earlier than 10 minute prior to the time on the draw * Please do not attending if you have attended a contact traced location OR are displaying flu-like symptoms This documentation can be found on our website under Resources. https://www.phoenixleague.info/resources The draw up to Round 8 can be found on our draw page as well: https://www.phoenixleague.info/draw Thank you for your continued support through this time. 03.01.2022 COVID-19 Statement - The Phoenix League Amid the increasing effect COVID-19 has had on our community, we regret to announce that all games will be postponed until the Queensland and/or Federal Government indicates it is safe to resume. Whilst it may be possible for our games to be formatted to meet the new recommendation set forth this morning (20 March 2020), these recommendations also came with strong recommendations that social distancing practices be applied as strictly ...as possible. Key practices to reduce the risk of transmission is to maintain 1.5 metres between people, avoiding touching a shared surface and regular handwashing. In our opinion, the nature of volleyball means that it is impossible to effectively adhere to these principles and, as a consequence, it is not possible for these risks to be managed appropriately during games. It is after great consideration that we will be suspending Phoenix League rounds until at least 6 April 2020 where we will be reassessing the situation. Though many players wish to continue, we believe that in the interest of public safety, and in order to best mitigate the spread of COVID-19, it is best to reduce social interaction down to a minimum over the next few weeks.
