20.01.2022 Queensland's Newest BPSA Awardee: Elke Howell Completing my BPSA was a great opportunity to experience lots of different things and challenge myself. Since I started Rovers, I've been a Joey leader and completed training to help grow my Joey unit and my Group. I also had a blast volunteering on camps and activities with Australian Kookaburra Kids Foundation, helping provide respite activities and education to kids who have family members with a mental illness. I challenged myself to live overseas in Norway on a university exchange, and presented what I learned to my Rover unit. I'm so grateful for the support and help my Rover unit has given me to get here!

19.01.2022 Australian Contingent Leader Role Applications are now open until the 4th of December! Why not apply for a management perspective on an adventure!

17.01.2022 This weekend the Queensland Branch Rover Council Conference was held in BP Park along side the Region Commissioner and District Commissioner Conferences. Regions Representatives and Executive Members from all over Queensland gathered to share their ideas, thoughts and opinions on the direction of how things work with Queensland Rovers. Online meetings have barriers to communicating and this weekend has been really beneficial for building skill sets for roles and the fellowship with not only each other and the RC’s and DC’s. Congratulations to all award recipients from the weekend. We want to thank everyone responsible for making this weekend possible.

14.01.2022 MEET THE QBRC TEAM Name; Brendan Wilson... Position; Chairman Branch Rover Council Scout Group; Ironbark Rover Unit and Sir Leslie Wilson District What does Scouts mean to you? Scouts is an opportunity to escape our normal worlds of studies, work or life, to take on new challenges and experience we wouldn’t otherwise have. How many of our Rovers have taken up an opportunity within Scouting that simply wouldn’t have existed otherwise? Fave Scouting Moment; My favourite Scouting memory would have to be TheMoot 2017. There’s not one particular aspect that stands out as the absolute favourite, just the entire experience of a National Moot. The people you meet and new friends from across Australia, the experiences and opportunities that only happen at a National Moot, have to be the greatest part and offer for any Rover to do. Best Advice you've ever heard; Rovers is the best section of Scouting and you only get this opportunity once, so make sure to make the most of the opportunities you are given.

10.01.2022 They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old; Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun... and in the morning We will remember them Lest We Forget

07.01.2022 Feature Fridays starting Aspley Rover Scout Unit The Aspley Rover Scout Unit is located in the Brisbane North suburb of Aspley, and currently has 12 members in the Unit. The unit is big on service; they have a Rover in either a Leader role (or assisting role) in each section of Aspley Group. They also like to help out the other sections by running a ‘night’ or activity for them; from billy-cart racing for the Cubs to Nerf Battles with the Venturers. A number of Unit me...mbers have 4WDs and have completed the ScoutsQLD 4WD training course, they were even able to assist the Aspley Scouts and Venturers with a camp on Fraser Island. Early this year they did a fundraiser to raise funds for the bush fire appeal. The Aspley Rover Scout Unit has a Bash Car: The Flaming Bull. At present a lot of their fundraising is going towards repairing and improving the Bash car in preparation for TnT Moot and Banana Bash in 2021. They aim to take a trophy or six in 2021. When they are not participating in major events, the unit likes to do fun activities: like in-door rock climbing, go karting, paint twister, drive-in movies, day-trips, lots of camping and any other adventurous activity where they can invite other Unit members to attend too. So, if you’re in the Brisbane north area, please drop by and say ‘Hi’ and join in on one of their activities!
